We arrived here for our honeymoon between 20th - 30th august after meeting each other at this hotel a few years back and we thought it was worth repaying a visit as we loved everything about it previously. Unfortunately the experience we had this time around was not what we expected for our honeymoon, upon our arrival which was already late in the evening we waited 45 minutes to get checked in. We then arrived to our room which was decorated for our arrival along with a complimentary bottle of cava which was a very nice touch. That night before going to sleep I happened to pull of the sheets to an absolute horror story there was numerous amount of stains all over the bed sheets so id opted to stay awake until the next morning to avoid sleeping in the bed. On our journey for breakfast the following morning i had went into the reception and informed them about the bed along with photos and the lady had took my room number and had mentioned they would have a cleaner change sheets ASAP. We went back to room after breakfast and waited to see if cleaners arrived to which they hadn't we waited about and a few hours after finally a cleaner arrived to which I asked was she aware of the bedding needing changed and she had replied no. I had used Google translator to inform the lady of what happened and showed the photos to which she was horrified and left the room right away to get new bedding. She then came back changed the bedding and used translator to explain how she was off work the day before and she is deeply sorry for the state it was left in and reassured us that any further issue to just come to her directly and it will be rectified. After this issue the room was cleaned each day to a high standard.
We had opted to stay in the hotel a couple of evenings for some drinks and that was also a poor experience between a 20 minute wait for a drink or either in experienced staff over charging which was quickly rectified once bought to another staff members attention the entertainment in the hotel was extremely poor, we are grateful we had only breakfast option and not all inclusive as I'm sure anyone who was all inclusive may have had a challenging time getting food and drink. Unfortunately these small details had a knock on effect on a honeymoon to which we had quite high expectations for. I think there may have been a lot of staffing issues amongst the hotel during our stay as it was pretty much the same staff every single day and a lot of them looked under pressure and exhausted. We had full intentions and money set aside to book this hotel for December with my son for Christmas celebrations and now we have been left with a tough decision on weather or not we return and give another chance.
Very unhappy with the room. The room had patches of mould on the walls, one huge patch next to the bed. I got very ill whilst staying there.
Stayed at Gara in March to get a break from uni and get some surf and Jiujitsu training in.(surfight gym with Luiz and pietro and franz surf school highly recommended) some decent surf.
Hotel- a great experience, the complex is huge and can be pretty hard to navigate with all of the balconies and feels a bit like a rat run , I got lost a few times trying to the room. There always seemed to be a strong smell of weed wherever I went.
Room- slightly dated and basic but very clean and had everything I needed - fridge, tv, plenty of clothes storage, safe, clean bedding and huge bathroom, surprisingly the hotel gave me a room that had an actual staircase in with a huge terrace front and rear that overlooked mount teide and the golf course, decent to wake upto.
Pool - was standard and you needed to buy drink vouchers/tokens from front desk that you exchanged at the bar, enjoyed an afternoon just relaxing in between sessions.
Restaurant - I only stayed b and b but I was pleasantly surprised, it’s a seperate building to the hotel and is huge, the egg chef sorted my omlettes on a morning that fuelled me for training and surf and there was plenty of fruit and pastries and great coffee that I took full advantage of.
I hired a car so I could tour the south coast and there was plenty of free parking outside hotel but these quickly filled at night and one time had to park a fair way from hotel to a less secure place.
The hotel is situated a little way from the front and it can take 15-20 minus walk even with the short cut to reach the ocean, often I just took hoppy scooters and there is 2 hoppy parks within 100m of the hotel to get around much quicker.
Siam park and shopping mall is also very close and worth a visit and the bus station within a short walk too
Overall great value for money for what I got, another place ticked off the list.
Myself and my partner went for 11 days, we spent over half of our time in Tenerife at the hotel.
The pools were great, they were clean and managed exceptionally well by the hotel staff - there were plenty of sunbeds available at all times, there were pool games like Water Polo and Volleyball held from time to time too.
The rooms were very good, definitely pleasantly surprised us actually, especially our view over the pool area via the balcony..
The cleaners did a great job every day giving us fresh sheets and towels as well as normal cleaning duties, it was a nice gesture to be welcomed with decorative towel animals and a bottle of white wine as we noted it was a “special occasion”, being my partners birthday. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning was spot on, every night we had an excellent sleep.
The food was very good too, again, this was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast every morning with a large variety of cooked foods and fresh fruit and vegetables as well as drinks was a great way to start each day.
We were half board on this occasion which meant we had dinner each night too, every night was a new themed menu with the option of regular foods available for those who are perhaps pickier eaters. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed eating in the restaurant as the service was great and it was very clean and well managed. The overall atmosphere and location of the hotel was exactly what we needed for our get-away.
Despite it being a family hotel, we never found nose levels to be too much for us, especially from the rooms - which remained nice and quiet throughout our stay.
Overall, the hotel is excellent. Located on a golf course, nice and quiet (away from the streets and heavy night life) and provided one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had to date. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay again if visiting Tenerife.
great rooms and location. about a 5-10€ taxi to pretty much everywhere. staff are great and always around to help
