Coral Compostela Beach Golf

We had booked a one bedroom apartment which had no AC just 2 ceiling fans .. these fans were extremely slow and failed to produce any sort of air circulation. This made it very hard to sleep at night as it was very warm.. the atmosphere in the hotel was noisy at all times and there are a lot of families with kids staying here ..so if you are after a relaxing holiday this may not be the place for you! For the price we paid we expected a bit more .. for example having to pay for the use of WiFi in 2026 is bizarre… The decor in the hotel is dated .. whilst walking to our apartment my friends and I noticed how the layout is almost like a prison with metal bars everywhere .. The kitchen fridge in our apartment smelled of fish which wasn’t a nice smell as our room was both stinking of fish and boiling hot. The location was good as it was beside a supermarket but not ideal if you are not willing to walk 15 minutes to the centre of las americas. Housekeeping were very attentive and reception staff were kind. I wouldn’t stay here again in the room we chose .. however if we booked a room with a private pool I would as it would be worth the money.

We were self-catering, and honestly I’m glad we were, as it meant we didn’t have to rely too much on the hotel staff. The hotel itself is a decent budget hotel and, for what you’re paying, it’s not bad. The pool is slightly small, but it’s good enough for the size of the hotel.

Unfortunately, the staff really let the experience down. The reception desk staff were mostly unhelpful and dismissive, and would even roll their eyes when you clearly explained what you wanted. It genuinely felt like some of them didn’t want to be doing their jobs. The only exception was one blonde lady on reception, who was lovely, actually listened to us and offered to help order a taxi.

The bar staff were also unhelpful and gave the impression that they didn’t want to be there. This made asking for anything quite uncomfortable.

The entertainment could definitely have been better. The only entertainment we saw was a guy pulling out the smallest running mat I’ve ever seen around the pool, without even playing any music. There really wasn’t much going on.

I’m also very glad we didn’t go half board. I bought a pizza from the pool bar and what came out was basically slop, and the cheese tasted off, so I wouldn’t recommend the food from there.

Another ridiculous thing is that the hotel is card-only. I had brought quite a lot of euros with me, so it was frustrating not being able to use cash and having to pay by card instead.

Overall, it’s a decent budget hotel if you’re mainly looking for somewhere to stay and don’t expect too much from the facilities or entertainment. However, the customer service could definitely be improved, as the attitude of some of the staff really affected our experience. Being self-catering worked well for us and gave us the freedom to eat and go out elsewhere rather than relying on the hotel. The walk to the main centre is about 30mins with steps. But you have a massive food shop right outside the hotel.

Location is a good 20 min walk into Las Americas and Los Cristianos and a taxi €15 to Adeje (which the drivers will always take you the long way - unless you tell them you know a shorter route 🤪)

There is a supermarket and the best Italian restaurant opposite so be sure to buy your food there as the hotel prices are ridiculous! €9-10 for a kids meal! €3.50 for a coke from the bottle so fizz less! You can take food and drinks around the pool and the lovely bar staff are happy to supply cups and ice!

Two bed apartment was on the larger size and very comfortable with a big double family room which slept me and two kids whilst the other standard double room slept two adults but minimal space. We had two separate bathrooms which was a bonus when getting five people ready for the evening.

Kitchen came with everything needed to self cater. Only issue was it was covered in bugs no matter how much you cleaned it they were constantly there so be sure to use Tupperware containers!

We stayed 10 nights and the room was cleaned once! Cleaners would arrive around 9am and if wasn’t out the room it never got cleaned so had to ask reception frequently for new towels etc.

The pool is ok not big enough for all guest so can get busy at times. The lifeguards sit away from the pool on their phones all day so be sure to constantly watch the pool. Although pool entertainment is adverted there are no activities unless you complain to reception as the outside company are pure lazy and do nothing! We met a family who had been there four weeks and had no entertainment around the pool which was advertised. On day three I complained and the activities happened but that was short lived unless the lovely woman rep was on duty!

Sunbeds are a joke - it states that the pool opens at 10 but all beds are quickly taken by 9am and nothing gets done about it so be prepared to sit on a chair for the duration! There is a tiny onsite park which has a tiny toddler slide two swings and a dangerous climbing frame!

Evening entertainment is poor so have to leave resort to go out they play bingo but you get one card (from a strip of six) and that’s it, one game! The bar closes at 10 with no tables cleared up.

Breakfast is a buffet only - you can’t just order a bacon sandwich for example! And cost €11 for adults €7 for kids even though mine just wanted an egg! It’s open 8-10 then normal food menu from 11:30. Pizza is from €12.50-15 a burger is €15 so be sure to use the lovely Italian across the road where you can get the best baguettes and sandwiches for €5 or whole cooked chickens for €8–10 or lunch.

If travelling with kids do visit attic bar in los cristianos it has a huge soft play for kids €5 for an hour where they are supervised so you can drink and eat outside and relax for an hour or so!
