Was basically ok, and may do it again
The hotel is basic, not as fancy as the pictures but that is fine. Daily cleaning, all good No kettle unless you pay. Mini fridge which is handy. A lot of late night noise. Pity security don't control it. Most the staff are pleasant and polite and friendly, but some, particularly bar staff were rude. As on all inclusive, drinks basics but buffet very good. However, it was a good experience, and value for money.

2 stars are for the lovely room, staff and pool however around the pool it is incredibly hard to relax at the volume they play their awful copyright free music. people around me complained about it too so i knew i wasn’t being boring. i wouldn’t feed the food to my dog and she’s dead. the pool is also in the shade too so it’s freezing but pretty good size. lovely staff - backbone of this hotel. my dad had a dead cockroach on his bed upon arrival so lovely welcome!

We stayed here for a week self catering as a couple in our late twenties/early thirties for a bit of almost-winter sunshine and was lovely! The room was well equipped for our stay and was a great base for what we really needed!
We didn’t eat at the hotel as there are simply so many great places to go so close by that it wasn’t needed. The fridge in the room didn’t get that cold so we used it to store water and other drinks and just ate all our meals elsewhere so cannot comment on the quality of the food although the pizza and toasties from the poolside area did look great!
The room was good for what we have paid and must be what you expect. The rooms are two single beds pushed together, one of which was incredibly creaky and squeaky and the mattress always separating in the middle, the floor sticky when we first came in and the handle in the shower was coming off the wall.. however the air conditioning was great, quiet and cold and the balcony was a great size! We were looking out onto the Main Street at the front which was ideal as we love people watching. The room also came with a pull out clothes airer which is fab for drying towels and swimwear. There is a safe in the room which you need to pay for which would be great if you got all of your money back for it- the safe is €25 and €10 back if you hand in your receipt upon returning the key. My partner didn’t mind this but considering it’s just a key and not an electronic code I really didn’t see why it was being used as a moneymaker but nevermind.
We didn’t have a problem getting sunloungers around the pool either but we didn’t mind being off to the side towards the back. We did use all four pools during our stay including the one at the back and are clean and well kept and the lifeguards are on duty and clocked in! They repeatedly kept the children out of the jacuzzi pool (not heated) and told them off for throwing balls across pools etc but still let them play which was nice to see! The poolside very clean and easily accessed but the ‘pub’ did have music blaring at random intervals which alongside typical hotel noise, the pool fountain, other speakers people had brought and then the music made it a bit overstimulating at times if you are wanting a more calm stay. We had nobody coming in to the hotel to sell you sunglasses/bags/watches etc but did have a random lady with a microphone and speaker halfway through the day go on about suncream which likely would’ve been better suited inside for people coming down the stairs as you just couldn’t understand her at all. Upon inspecting the website for the hotel this has an accreditation for being an autism friendly hotel and this level of noise was inescapable around all the pools so was a bit confusing on that part as I have no diagnoses but couldn’t sit to read a book or have a siesta due to the noise level.
We have had no issues with the staff who have been nothing but friendly and helpful if needed but a lot of advertised amenities were actually shut including kids club permanently closed and the spa undergoing maintenance so was shut too which was not advertised or disclosed upon check in either. Neither mattered to us, but just something to be aware of.
A lot of complaints on here about the noise level in the rooms we didn’t really experience. There was an argument one morning by another party finalised with them banging on the wall for about 15 minutes so something to bare in mind if you are coming as a couple is that the walls are extremely close together if it bothers you that you are being heard by others. Our main concern was the amount of holidaymakers all around the hotel stinking of weed. There are many around the main areas selling variety of drugs which, each to their own, but the amount of older holidaymakers (about 40/50+) smoking it constantly around the pool where children play was just horrific and you couldn’t escape the smell. Again, something to bear in mind that either people’s tolerance is incredibly high or the quality is shocking but you are able to smoke/vape around the pool too.
All in all we have really enjoyed our stay, and the actual rooms are quiet and peaceful and are generally unbothered but the main areas of the hotel at an off-peak time are incredibly loud and rowdy so I can’t begin to imagine what it is like here in the summer months. We would stay again around the same time of year/off season but could imagine it being carnage during the summer months.
Disrespectful and Rude
My fiancée & I spent a week at apart/hotel Columbus Tenerife all inclusive,the room was adequate no en-suite included.The food was nothing special the catering staff were polite and friendly,on the all inclusive bar the staff was rude and showed animosity toward British holiday makers,we were not the only ones that noticed their attitude.Overall I would never stay in another KN hotel in Tenerife again.We have vacationed in numerous hotels on the mainland and have never been treated with such disrespect as we have at the Columbus.
