Located in Playa de las Américas and only 10 minutes from the beach, this family-friendly complex is situated close to a water park and at less than 2 km from the city centre. The Tenerife Sur airport is at 15 km distance. For those wanting to practice their swing, there is a golf course nearby the hotel. Visitors can also find restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. After enjoying a day on the beach, guests might relax in its luminous rooms, which are designed to welcome both couples and families. When it comes to dining, the hotel has a wonderful buffet restaurant with show cooking. Wide range of activities available for the whole family, daily entertainment program and a recreational area featuring table football, billiards and bowls.

Location was good as it wasn’t far from everything overall I don’t think I’d return here due to a couple of things such as keycards kept cutting out all the time meaning I had to keep going downstairs to reception to cut them again there was one lift working so it was a nightmare all the time and the housekeepers kept holding the lifts in the morning meaning we were waiting longer for the one lift and we were on the 9th floor we had an issue with our door not locking and there was always cockroaches on our balcony our balcony was never cleaned as the ashtray was never emptied we had to keep asking for towels as the house keeper kept saying later for towels when we asked and we never received so had to keep going to reception and they kept trying to come in the morning to clean the room baring in mind my partner still being in bed I would say give us a couple of minutes and we should be out and she would say I come tomorrow we had a family room as my mum came with me and my partner room wasn’t very spacious for 3 people no hooks for bags or nothing not that many plug sockets we even had a housekeeper come in with towels and opened the door on my mum as she was on the toilet we wasn’t expecting that as the cleaner could see the door shut and should of just left them on the bed the food was okish like the mash pizza carbonara was nice not really much change in food in the nights pretty much same every night you even have to pay for water at dinner the one guy with glasses in particular trying to intimidate people walking round like a police guard denied my partner to come in as he hurt his feet and was bandaged and could only wear sliders due to that and he was refusing him to come in the food hall which is ridiculous as it’s dress coded why I don’t know as it’s nothing fancy there they refused my brother aswell because he was in a vest but then most girls were in vests flip flops basically in the stuff that’s so called restricted to be worn they are a bit sexist towards the men at dinner with what they wear it’s so stupid not much there for kids food wise either really if there fussy never full in the hall really when I was there i recommend just bed and breakfast and eat elsewhere dinner as it’s not worth it overall don’t recommend this hotel to people and I wouldn’t return
Cleanliness of rooms and location
Overall we had an amazing time and the location very good . Although, the cleanliness was not good , our beds were made once , our bins were emptied once and they was full almost everyday , we had to leave our rubbish outside for it to be collected . The most they did was leave towels on our bed every so often.
The food as the buffet , had a good selection but was pretty much the same everyday and didn’t taste great .
Clean, comfortable and a great base.
My family and I stayed here for a week during our holiday in Tenerife. As it was our first visit to the island, we wanted a hotel that was close to the beach while still being far enough from the nightlife to enjoy peaceful evenings on the balcony and soak up the atmosphere.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our visit. We did have one minor issue, which I reported to reception, and it was resolved promptly. We experienced no further problems for the remainder of our stay.
The hallways and lifts are a little dated and could benefit from some refurbishment, but this didn't impact our overall experience.
The food was excellent, with a great variety of dishes available at both breakfast and dinner. A special mention goes to one of our regular servers, David, whose friendly personality and helpful recommendations made every meal even more enjoyable.
On busier evenings, you could occasionally hear music from the nearby bars and clubs, and some noise from neighbouring rooms, but it was never disruptive enough to spoil our stay.
Considering the location, facilities, food, and service, we felt the hotel offered excellent value for money and was a great base for exploring Tenerife.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would happily consider staying here again.
poor experience
I visited this hotel from the 9th-16th of July this year and the experience that me and my friend shared wasn’t the best as many things went wrong. Firstly, we found out that the door to our room would not lock from the outside bare in mind it was very close to the reception and on the bottom floor so it would’ve been easy for anyone to just enter the room at any point which is dangerous. we then reported this to reception and they sent a technician to fix it which worked until the next time we tried the door and it wouldn’t lock again so then we had to get someone to fix it for a second time. After this we then had the opposite issue where any key would not let us into the room and then when we went to go and speak to reception to try and get it fixed and one of the receptionist ladies laughed in our face and said it was because my phone was too close to it even though the whole time we had been out of the hotel the key was in the bag and my phone was in my hand. The last issue we had which was rather inappropriate was that as i was eating food in the hotel one night a waiter came and approached me and handed me a napkin with his number written on the back of it. This made me feel uncomfortable to the point that i could not finish my food and then was unable to go and eat in the hotel restaurant for the remainder of the trip which was about 4 days meaning that i did not get much out of what i payed for half board for the holiday. I reported this incident to a lovely member of staff who helped as much as he could but i am unsure if it actually got dealt with. Overall, i believe the experience that i had at the hotel was poor and we also had housekeepers just walking into the room as we were sleeping majority of the days.

First time staying in Oro Negro, and for what we paid, I really can’t fault the place. Few mixed reviews but I think people really need to manage expectations. Seems some people expect champagne on a lemonade budget.
The staff have been great all through our stay. Very friendly, always say hello to you, happy to help and clearly work very hard. This extends from reception to cleaning to restaurant to the entertainment team.
Check in straightforward as was checkout (which is 12pm).
Our room was basic but functional and clean. Had air con which was essential in mid July. Rooms cleaned every day, new bed sheets and towels every other day.
Pool area is clean and well maintained. Sunbeds unlocked at 9am on the solarium, 10am by the pool. No mad scramble but would recommend getting down by 9ish if you want a good location and umbrella. We had no issues all week but were here the week before schools break up for summer.
Entertainment team had something on everyday during the day and evening so if you wanted a chill one all week, you’d have plenty going on here. Water polo, aqua bikes, aqua gym, darts, and evening entertainment of singers, acrobats, karaoke, bit of everything.
Restaurant had plenty of choice during breakfast and dinner. Yes, it can be a bit repetitive if you’re here a week or longer but this isn’t isolated to this hotel, that’s pretty much any half board or all inclusive hotel you go to within this price range. But there was always enough choice to mix things up.
Freshly cooked omelettes in the morning in front of you, same with steaks and chicken and pork in the evenings.
Location wise, 10 mins walk to Las Americas beachfront and 15 mins to Golden Mile so easy enough to walk around. Very slightly uphill when walking back but nothing too heavy. Couple of supermarkets and restaurants and bars even closer within 5 mins walk if you didn’t want to go far either.
We booked through TUI, return flights from UK, transfers, half board for a week for about £650 each mid July. Really can’t fault our stay for the price.
Mix of families, couples and groups of friends staying by the looks of it, mixed aged group but really chill vibes.
So be wary of negative reviews of people saying this is the “worst stay ever” and all that. It’s a solid 3* hotel and would recommend.
