Located in Playa de las Américas and only 10 minutes from the beach, this family-friendly complex is situated close to a water park and at less than 2 km from the city centre. The Tenerife Sur airport is at 15 km distance. For those wanting to practice their swing, there is a golf course nearby the hotel. Visitors can also find restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. After enjoying a day on the beach, guests might relax in its luminous rooms, which are designed to welcome both couples and families. When it comes to dining, the hotel has a wonderful buffet restaurant with show cooking. Wide range of activities available for the whole family, daily entertainment program and a recreational area featuring table football, billiards and bowls.
We had a very pleasant stay at Catalonia Oro Negro in Tenerife. The hotel offered a welcoming atmosphere, and what truly stood out was the kindness and professionalism of the staff.
Special thanks to the ladies and gentlemen at the reception, who were always polite, helpful, and ready to assist us with a smile. When we asked for suggestions about places to go out, they gave us very nice ideas and useful recommendations, which helped us enjoy our stay even more.
We would also like to thank the dining room staff, who were attentive, friendly, and efficient throughout our stay. Their positive attitude made our meals even more enjoyable.
A special mention goes to the Assistant Manager, who was extremely polite, professional, and helpful. When a problem occurred, he responded immediately and offered satisfactory solutions, showing real care for the guests.
Overall, Catalonia Oro Negro is a hotel with excellent staff who make guests feel welcome and valued. We truly appreciated their support and hospitality.
I would not stay at Catalonia Oro Negro Hotel again.
Our first room had a terrible smell that made it unpleasant to stay in. Instead of fixing the issue properly, maintenance repeatedly came in and sprayed air freshener to mask the smell. After several complaints, they finally agreed to move us to another room.
One thing we weren’t told before arriving is that the rooftop pool is only available to premium guests. This was really disappointing, as we only found out once we were there.
The food was also very poor in quality and was one of the worst parts of our stay.
The biggest issue, however, was the way we were treated by a member of staff in the restaurant who referred to himself as “the big boss.” He approached me in a very aggressive and patronising manner because I was wearing flip-flops. Rather than politely asking me to change my footwear or explaining the dress code, he got in my face, raised his voice, and spoke to me in a completely unprofessional way. To make matters worse, after causing the scene himself, he turned to other guests and said, “Sorry for the show.”
What made this even more frustrating was that within five minutes I counted nine other guests wearing flip-flops, none of whom appeared to be challenged. The rules were clearly not being enforced consistently, which made the way I was singled out feel unfair.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Between the smelly room, poor food, misleading information about the rooftop pool, and the unacceptable behaviour of a senior member of staff, I cannot recommend this hotel.
We have just returned from a fab stay at this hotel! The hotel was very clean, great location and the staff were all so kind, friendly and welcoming! We had a half board stay which suited us perfectly, our children loved the breakfast pancakes! It was easy to get taxis to travel a bit further out - we went to Siam Park, Siam Mall, the market and a few other places which didn't cost much at all to get there. Would definitely return and recommend! Our kids loved the pool and the smaller pool for younger ones was perfect for the toddlers in our group.
All good except I'll never go back there because they force you to buy your drinks (including soft drinks and water) during your meal. They even took my water bottle away during the meal, and then returned it to me after, even though the temperature was mid 20's most evenings , so it felt a bit like a scam.
Clean hotel would not recommend if you have children no entertainment for them if you have dinner booked as part of holiday you can’t even get soft drinks with meal for kids or adults like fruit juice or water you have to pay extra and if you take your own water they complain not enough variety for children to eat drink is included in dinner but for breakfast it is but you can’t get it for dinner so have to pay or go thirsty you pay a lot of money for the dinner
