Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed at Ona Mirage with my husband and our child and had a fantastic time. Our self-catering apartment was beautiful, and very comfortable, with a lovely terrace overlooking the main pool. The room was clean throughout our stay. The bed linen was changed once during the week, while towels were changed regularly. There was a great atmosphere with kids’ entertainment, music and a bar. We also loved having a small shop, ATM and beauty salon on site, where you could get your hair and nails done if you need it ;) The only small downside was the air conditioning, which could have been cooler, especially in Really friendly staff and professional receptionist who always happy to help.Trully could not say anything bad ,2as great holiday! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!!!
Stayed at the Mirage about 8 times now and as much as we still like it I have to say a few things got on our nerves. People queuing before 7am for beds was an absolute joke for starters. Also one of the lifeguards that worked there was really rude while asking us to take our lilo out the pool that we had used for 4 days previously!! He said the manageress told him to tell us it was prohibited so I told him to get the manageress to come speak to me about it which she obviously didn’t do. There were people actually standing in the pool drinking cans of lager and plastic cups filled with red wine (which I honestly didn’t mind as they are on holiday) but my son had to get off his lilo, unbelievable really. Also think closing pool one 3 times early during our 14 days there wasn’t acceptable. Closed twice for their party night that was hardly popular and no idea why it was closed at 4pm the other time. Ridiculous during the height of summer. Massive positive are the reception staff and John in particular. What a lovely man he is and so helpful, mirage are lucky to have him.
Just back from a week in this resort. Was extremely disappointed travelled as 3 families 11 people in total across 3 apartments. The ac didn't work in any apartment. We all rang and also went to reception to be told we would be added to the list. The maintenance was a no show so we then again had to ring and ask for fans to which they gave 3 between us all. Full week of zero sleep and no responsibility taken from the hotel. It is false advertising saying they have ac when they clearly don't. The apartments were clean and spacious but house keeping is only once a week changing of towels is not great if you ring in between you will need to go to reception. We had the breakfast each day and this was good lots of options. Location wise yes at the top of the hill but taxis are cheap and plentiful so its extremely easy to get around. The pools were clean and we managed to get a sun lounger at the 2nd pool. People do que early for the main pool. Overall we enjoyed tenerife but wouldn't return to this hotel purely based on the no ac and the lack of care when we asked to have it fixed.
My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in August, The room was great, it had everything, even an ironing board, big balcony and view of the pool area, the Clark Gable block i believe. Would we stay here again? The answer is no. And these are our reasons: The hotel is miles from the beach and on a ridiculously steep incline. Had to get taxis back every day from the beach, Also, for some unbelievable reason, the manager of the hotel allows the people staying here to queue up from 7am to get into the pool which opens at 9am. Once these "guests" have the gate opened they race down and throw up to 8 towels on the pool loungers, some even took 9 loungers, then swaned off to their rooms or wherever, within 3 minutes every pool lounger was taken, empty, but taken by leaving their towels on them. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour. And allowed by manager. The entertainment at the pool at night was terrible, they must be volunteering because it was so bad, and so loud.
The reviews on this hotel made it seem a lot worse although my experience wasn't the best. I came here around nearly the end of July for a week. When we first came into our room. It wasn't that bad at first, it kind of felt like I was in a hospital but I didn't really mind. I saw white stains on a chair and that disgusted me. Later on in the day I realized that little tiny looking ants were crawling on my phone. I told my sisters and they thought I was joking. Later on we looked at the counter and LOADS of those tiny bugs were on the counter crawling around. I got freaked out as some were also crawling on me and I quickly sprayed them with the roach spray that comes with the room. We sprayed the whole counter and we didn't see them again thankfully.
The shower is easy to use. Although sometimes while I'm showering, baby roaches come out from some where. The amount of baby roaches I had to kill, to the point where I felt guilty..
The sink is right in front of the toilet and it makes the bathroom tight in space.
I put a chair in front of the door every night before going to sleep because I've heard the amount of robberies this hotel had.
The breakfast is crowded, I was barely able to find a table. People bumped into me quite frequently too.
The pool isn't bad but please don't go into it if you have a light colored swim suit because it absolutely destroys it, I don't know what it is but it dyes your swim suit yellow.. My favorite 2 swimsuits were destroyed and I was very upset.
Not to mention the security, they don't give you bands for your wrist so anybody could literally do anything. Not to mention the lack of security cameras. I don't even think I saw a single one anywhere and if there is one, it must be in the most useless place.
Do I recommend this hotel? I'm not sure.
