HG Tenerife Sur

HG Tenerife Sur is a great hotel, and I would definitely return here 100%. It has everything you need for a self-catering holiday.

My apartment was spacious and well-equipped, with air conditioning, a kitchen, sitting room, balcony, double bedroom, and a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. The housekeeping staff were all lovely, and the apartment was cleaned daily to a high standard.

The hotel has a large pool area, and there's evening entertainment outside by the hotel entrance, along with a bar and restaurant, creating a really pleasant atmosphere.

There are just two improvements I would suggest. Firstly, the pool area would benefit from more sun parasols, as shaded areas are quite limited. Secondly, I would strongly recommend installing rubber anti-slip mats or tiles around the pool edges. The existing surface becomes extremely slippery when wet, and during my stay I witnessed several near misses involving adults and young children, as well as children who had fallen and injured themselves. Improving this would make the pool area much safer.

One thing I did notice was the early morning rush to reserve sunbeds. While I appreciate everyone wants a good spot, it was disappointing to see many beds being claimed at dawn and then left unused for hours. This meant other guests were unable to find a sunbed despite many appearing unavailable. A policy to discourage prolonged reserving of sunbeds would make the experience fairer for everyone.

Overall, this is a fantastic hotel in a great location with friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, and everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed at hg Tenerife sur with my daughter for 4 nights late june, could not fault a thing, lovely rooms, comfy beds, great shower, massive pool, lovely food from the pool bar, great location, will definitely be back

Just got back from Tenerife sur this morning....... The hotel was clean and tidy couldn't fault the hotel at all the pool well IV never known people to be treated like children we put our towels down on the STACK of sunbeds to make sure we got some we then had to wait till 10am for that bloke to come round and unchain them it's like we are back at school but anyway always managed to get a sun bed...... The pool very clean around the pool very slippery I slipped the 2-3rd day of being there didn't do much damage but it can be very dangerous I think they may need to put tiles down that are anti slip ones because if an elderly person slips they will do damage...... There is a restaurant on site we never used it so couldn't tell your what it was like..... We was on ground floor so we did get a few cockroaches but we brought this lemon counter spray as we went self catering and it seemed to of done the trick by staying them with it lol...... Please if you go self catering please make sure you wash everything before using coz the utensils can be ABIT grubby....... They r 2 little supermarket as U come out the hotel one to Ur right over the road and 1 to Ur left reasonable price supermarket the big one couldn't find to hot to even find but we made do there is a lovely fish and chip shop called tides I do believe lovely people in there and also a lovely place is they do curry and kebabs so I had chicken tikka kebab well it was to die for it was lovely and chicken tikka pizza 😁😁 we did have to wait a couple of hours when we go there for our room but that was ok we did a bit of walking around it's about half hour walk to the beach but we did find another quick way if U walk past buddies cocktail bar there is a walk way with bars and restaurants as well keep following the path all the way round U will then have to cross keep walking then U will be at the beach with more bars and restaurants never eaten down there so can't comment buddies bar omg amazing cocktails could of just stayed in there all day lol........ There is a great English restaurant called Harriet's if you ever get time to go there please do the food is amazing the staff are amazing Hopefully whoever reads this has a great time and if you do go just please make sure your careful around the pool as very slippery.
