This modern holiday apartment complex is situated in a quiet area in Los Cristianos, approximately one kilometre from the beach and harbour. Guests will find a public transport stop and several restaurants and bars within a five-minute walk. The apartments are divided into three attractive blocks set around a pool and well-manicured terraced gardens. Each apartment features one bedroom, a living area with sofa bed and satellite television, a balcony or terrace, and a kitchen with refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. Guests can prepare homemade meals in the apartment's kitchen or enjoy buffet-style meals and snacks in the onsite restaurant. The complex also offers a variety of leisure facilities including a tennis and multi-sports court, beach volleyball, and an outdoor pool, all for a relaxing and fun-filled family holiday on the island of Tenerife.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We checked into the hotel and were given our key wristbands and a map of where to go. The lift was out of order (we were staying on the fourth floor) but there was a sign saying to use the staff lift which was very small and run down. It was very hot with no ventilation.
On arrival to our room we discovered hairs everywhere like it hadn’t been swept for days. There were cracks in the walls and parts of skirting board hanging off. One of the plug sockets in the kitchen area was hanging off the wall so we didn’t dare use it. There was insufficient equipment and utensils for a self catering room.
The poolside bar shuts at 11.00pm so if you have a late check in there is nowhere to get water or snacks from therefore you would have to leave the hotel to find an open supermarket or bar which wouldn’t always be ideal.
A couple of days into our holiday we were still using the staff lift and it broke down with four of us trapped in it for 45 minutes! We pressed the alarm button and got put through to a call centre to people with very little English. Other guests had to raise the alarm to reception as they were clueless! It was an extremely hot day so the lift was unbearable. There is no ventilation whatsoever. When we finally got out of the lift we were pretty much told by staff that it was our own fault as there were four of us in there and there was too much weight, even though there is a sign saying maximum four people. One of the four trapped is pregnant!
We didn’t see anyone trying to fix the guest lift throughout our stay so were expected to carry on using the staff lift but none of us felt comfortable enough to do so therefore had to walk up to the fourth floor numerous times a day!
There were cracked tiles in and around the pool and the poolside was filthy and slippy. During the week we only saw it being cleaned once and that was only after an elderly lady had slipped over and had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance with an injured back. When the staff were cleaning the poolside with a jet wash you could see the dirty water flowing back into the pool.
Towards the end of the week the sun loungers and umbrellas weren’t even put out around the pool they were just stacked up in piles here, there and everywhere so you were made to move them yourselves.
There was a constant strong smell of cannabis around the pool area.
There was hardly any entertainment even though there was a sign with a schedule by the poolside. The music around the pool was very repetitive and the songs were only half played for some reason.
On one occasion we ran out of toilet paper in our room so went to reception to ask for a roll. I was spoken to very rudely and told that I needed to find a cleaner. Eventually they gave me one but she wasn’t very happy about it!
We asked twice throughout the week if we could keep a room on for the final day between 3 families as we weren’t getting collected until a lot later after the checkout time. We were told it shouldn’t be a problem but to come back on our final morning which we did but were told that there were no rooms available and that if we wanted a shower we would need to book a time slot.
You are given 30 minutes per family (which isn’t much time for bigger families). We arrived 5 minutes before our time slot and when we asked to borrow towels we were told to come back at the exact time. When we went back for towels there was a queue at reception so was late going in for a shower. The floor in the shower was filthy so make sure you keep your slip flops on. There was no extractor fan meaning the shower room was very hot so by the time you are dressed you felt like you needed another shower!
If we hadn’t of met up with other families we would have asked to have change hotels.
We did speak to a man on reception (Jesus) about our concerns throughout the week and he wrote them down in a book however nobody from the hotel or Jet2 came to speak to us.
The hotel is very run down…it was probably nice in the 80’s!
I’m really not sure how this hotel got a 3 star plus rating with Jet2. I dread to think what the lower rated hotels are like.
We holidayed here with our 2 boys age 8 and 6. Lovely salt water pool, felt very safe and has everything you need for a fun family trip. I thought the accommodation was exceptional value for money - large apartments, cleaned daily, kitchen had everything you need to cook basic meals for the kids - pasta on the hob etc. We did this a couple of times and picked up some breakfasts from the local supermarket nearby with a nice bakery. We didn’t eat at the hotel, no need to, surrounded by loads of restaurants within 5/10 mins (recommend Italian trattoria) or 15/20 if you head to the beach. Taxi to the beach 5eur, well worth it if you don’t want to climb the hill back! We would recommend and return for a family friendly holiday.
Love this place came last year this year and will definately be back next year cleaners everyday very friendly place to stay
This is the prime example of why we should have listened to the previous reviews before booking in at this hotel ...... TAKE NOTE .....Overall, this hotel is clean enough and offers the basic facilities you need, but it is showing its age. The rooms are functional but very dated, and the pool area is in need of some refurbishment. No aircon at all ....you can hire a small portable aircon unit at reception from an external company but it will cost you €85 for the week. There were several broken tiles around the pool and the cleanliness of that space was below what we expected. We didn't try the food as the overall impression was enough within the first hour to realise that this hotel should be a base only and not somewhere to stay and relax and eat at . Our biggest disappointment wasn't the hotel itself, but the atmosphere created by the clientele the low price point seems to attract (should have followed my gut on that one ....our fault , really makes the saying you get what you pay for ring true). There was a strong smell of cannabis around the balconies most evenings (and days to be fair) and very little privacy between outdoor spaces. On our final night as I sit here and become compelled to write this review we came inside early because a guest was playing loud music (wigan pier to be exact ) from a portable speaker at full volume on their 3 rd floor balcony which made it impossible to relax outside. If you're looking for a modern, relaxing resort, with some class to it (and quality) something more like Center Parcs, this probably isn't the right choice; but if you love butlins and frequent there regularly and just want a cheap no-frills break and don't mind a lively (dare i say rough ) environment, it might suit you. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere. I wouldnt consider returning and will take notice of the reviews next time ....lesson well and truly learned .
Family of 4 with grand parents. I'll start with the positives; Nice large apartments, reception clean and efficient, pool bar food and service was good and the room cleaners were excellent and very helpful. The location is good, 5 mins away from the nearest bars and 15 mins walk away from the Los Cristianos front. Longer to walk back as its all up hill.
Negatives; The pool and surrounding tiles were filthy. Mercy water and didn't seem to be filtering correctly. Enough to say we stopped our little one from going in the pool towards the end of the holiday. The most annoying thing is the party music playing all day, every day. The same tracks playing day in and out. No chilled out vibe at all, just party music playing over one speaker, would have been good to have a mix of genre. Enough so that we went to water park to avoided pool days :( The second most annoying thing was the 'Chicken Nugget man'. Telling kids off for playing in the pool so they don't get his microphone wet! Why he didn't just move away from the pool I don't know.
A lot of people seemed to enjoy this hotel and vibe, but just wasn't for us, for the reasons above. And if they stop trying to force the entertainment thing in such a small area and clean more in and around the pool, the hotel may be a three star, definitely not a four star. Sorry to say but we wouldn't go back to this hotel.
