Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife

We are returning customers and love this hotel. We are a family of 4, 2 adults a teenager and a 9 year old, we have previously done a comprehensive review of the hotel and not much has changed in the year since we were here last, the name has changed slightly and it’s now part of the Hyatt group, the app is still in place for checking in and booking shows/al la cartes. The hotel is spotlessly clean, we had one issue with housekeeping on second day which was dealt with promptly and we had no further issues. The mini bar is stocked daily, 2 beers, 3 cans of pop and 2 juice cartons, it’s a karafe now for your water instead of plastic water bottles, again this wasn’t an issue and knowing we had access to unlimited ice cold water was nice The buffet restaurant was great, food was plentiful, hot most of the time and there was something for everyone Dreams factory was our saviour! We have a very fussy child and he was happy being able to get his meals when he wanted them and no pressure to try new things, he could have his “McDonald’s” everyday which he was happy with The drinks in the day are self serve, iced coffees (better from the top bar) and hot drinks, fizzy drinks, fruit juices, wines/prosecco, slushies, water and beer, down at the infinity bar you could be served alcoholic slushies as well as spirits, milkshakes and cocktails. Evening you either queue up at the bar or have a waiter service, we always tipped on first drinks and they couldn’t do enough for you. Entertainment of an evening was hit and miss, some great bands on while we were there, other nights it was more background music. The room was huge, we previously stayed in a junior suite but had a master suite this time, much better having a divide between the lounge and bedroom Sun beds weren’t a problem even down at the children’s pools, until our last 2 days where there was an influx of people and then towels started getting put down at stupid o clock and there was issues around the pool with people reserving beds that they didn’t use until late afternoon. We chose the Asian and Italian as our two al la cartes, the Asian was amazing last year but was just ok this year which was disappointing, the Italian was lovely and we really enjoyed it. We chose Imox and Carnival as the two shows, we saw both of these last year and really enjoyed them again, we also saw the Drago show down at the tree and this was fab as well, we had the luxury of being able to watch this off our balcony as we had a view of the tree, castle and all the pools. Overall we really enjoy this hotel and will be returning again

We have just returned from the Bahia after a week there with my two little boys (3 years and 1 year), my mum and my sister. We can’t rate the hotel highly enough! The staff are great. So helpful, always with a smile even though they are very busy a lot of the time. Kilian at reception who helped with our cases and gave our little boy a football was especially friendly! The rooms are so spacious, there was ample room for the five of us. So clean and the maids also tidied each morning which was much appreciated as you can imagine the mess with two little ones! The mini bar is restocked for free every day. There’s fresh water everywhere in water dispensers around the hotel, and you get a nice glass jug to fill up as you please. Would recommend bringing your own insulated water bottle as you can take this to the pool and it’ll keep cool all day! The food was lovely, there was so much on offer. We loved the filter coffee in the mornings which was put on our table! You get two à la carte restaurants included with your stay (1 week). We ate at the Italian and the Japanese restaurant. Both great. My toddler loved making his own pizza at the Italian! We couldn’t get booked into the steak restaurant as it was fully booked so would book in advance. You can do this on the hotel App. The location of the hotel is quite secluded, it’s in a residential area and we spent most of our time just in the lovely resort. The hotel pools are fantastic. Good temperature and very clean. The kids pool is bustling and always something going on! The top three pools are a bit quieter but not quiet and a good atmosphere with nice music on. We preferred it up there as it felt more spacious. The kids entertainment team were fantastic, full of energy and very talented. The theatre shows (Papimber and Carnival) were also fantastic. Not your usual hotel entertainment - much higher calibre. You get two included with your stay (1 week). Overall, a 10/10 stay. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the memories, Bahia Fantasia!

Brilliant children’s hotel loads for them to do not so much for adults, one adult only pool often with children in with parents,little adult entertainment during the day and only one per evening .plenty of sun loungers always got one as long as you were out for 9am ish so not bad given it’s the height of the holiday season. Room -fantastic , huge bed lovely bath and bathroom couldn’t fault the room . Overall great hotel only a few negatives , check in very very slow no offer of cold drink or wet cloth etc as usual in 5 * hotels , we arrived early and had to wait a good while until our room was ready so if your on an early flight put swim things and sun cream in your hand luggage. Food -the quality of the food on the whole was good what really let it down was the lack of food being replenished , one last spoonful of food on one station was left for at least 30 minutes going round 3 times to get fresh food is not good , I am sure it was due to lack of staff,it is a hotel geared for children we knew that but children’s etiquette at meal times is none existent kids just barging in front of you ,grabbing food then putting food back , hacking at cake this was the main part that let it down. On reviews it is likened to other hotels such as regnum and ikos but I can assure you the Bahia principe fantasia is no where near. If you have children this is a great hotel but little for adults
