Jessica was amazing, i did Pilates with her and wine tasting and she was so lovely and included everyone she is the sweetest thing. the only issue with the hotel was the sunbeds it was really busy and it was like subbed wars every morning but aside from that absolutely lovely
Overall we had a good stay and relaxing holiday, but not 5* as advertised and advistising on some booking website seems to be a litle misleding.

Bad Points
We spent 10 nights in the Barcelo. There was two adults and two teenagers. Overall I would rate the experience as poor. This is advertised as a 5 star location but at best it’s on the lower reaches of a 4 star rating. Rooms were nice, but the food experience was limited in my view for what is claimed as a 5 star experience. The variety on each night was quite limited, and it really is the small features which I believe sets apart as a 5 star, for example the hallways around the rooms were very dirty and the small gym whilst functional didn’t have bottles of water. There was no refilling of the fridge in the room even if it was only soft drinks which again points to my 4 star rating. Towel quality was very poor, clean beach towels not available daily. Some of the bar staff were very helpful however a number of them had poor English and it was a challenge to request drinks. Snack bar was very limited after other amenities were closed with pre packed days old food in it. One of our parties also were overcharged by 20% on a taxi ride which again I appreciate is not directly related to reg hotel but this was ordered by them and we explained it to the hotel and they just advised unfortunate. The hotel is also advertised as a golf destination and we booked 4 days golfing in nearby courses. One of the courses was under construction so it was changed to Amarilla. Whilst not necessarily the hotels fault we were unable to play a number of holes due to the course being under some works and not being informed before of this and we cancelled our last days planned golf which nearly two weeks later despite several representations to the hotel we are still awaiting a refund. We have stayed in several similar all inclusive hotels across Europe and Overall I’m not someone who leaves negative responses on trips as I work in a customer related business and understand people’s expectation can be unrealistic but overall my experiences here was a poor one and I would advise anyone to be cautious when booking this hotel.
I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Barcelo Tenerife. I specifically paid for a partial sea view room, but the room I was given had no sea view at all. When I contacted the reception to explain that the room did not match what I had purchased, I was simply told that there were no other rooms available. The issue is not just the lack of availability — it is that the hotel failed to provide the room category that was advertised and paid for. I expected the hotel to offer a meaningful solution, such as a refund for the difference in room type, or another form of goodwill. Instead, I felt that my concern was dismissed. For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better customer service and more accountability. Paying extra for a specific room feature and then not receiving it is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling frustrated and misled, and I would think twice before booking here
Friendly, very helpful staff. Lovely facilities, good food, lots to do. Stayed as a Royal guest half board and it was thoroughly relaxing. We used the gym, the aqua aerobics and the ping pong which were all fun. Evening shows were good & big screen for the world cup football. Rooms were very soundproof so you could shut out the entertainment noise too. The planting and thoughtful architecture are gorgeous. We especially loved the nature reserve tour and museum with interactive tunnel. The guide was wonderfully enthusiastic and we learned so much about the flora and fauna and history of this part of the island. I would totally recommend.
