We praticularery appreciate the guided tour that Alvaro offer us. He was pationate and informative. He like the place and transmit you this. I highly recommend to pass by the natural park witch is really exclusive to this resort.
Food should be improved. Breakfast was so typical in english style, nothing special and 7 days on 7 days the same. Sometimes at lunch/dinner food was good, sometimes was bad. I had expierience where meat in sauce was great in first day, but on the next day it was rubbery. Some meats were dried. Also in my opinion I ate the worst carbonara in my life. Overall food was good but those few situations were a little dissapointing.
Celebrated 60th wedding anniversary beautiful room with a bottle of champagne and chocolates there for us. All staff very helpful had a great time
Barceló Tenerife is a very large hotel with plenty of facilities, but overall we found it to be a bit of a mixed experience.
We were upgraded to a suite, which was a really nice touch. The suite was extremely spacious and gave us plenty of room to relax and spread out. However, despite the size, the rooms are quite dated and starting to feel a little tired, particularly for a hotel of this size and standard.
One thing worth noting is that most of the pools are not heated, which may not suit everyone depending on the time of year.
The buffet restaurant is very well laid out and there is plenty of choice, although we found the quality could be a little hit and miss from one meal to the next. The pool bars are nice and pleasant places to relax, and we particularly enjoyed the pizza from the paid restaurant, which was very good.
We stayed on the standard all-inclusive package and, to be honest, found it just okay rather than particularly impressive. The entertainment also wasn’t really to our taste, although that will obviously come down to personal preference.
The hotel is also quite isolated, with very little within walking distance, so it is probably better suited to guests who are happy to spend most of their time within the resort or don’t mind using taxis or a car to explore.
Overall, we felt the hotel was closer to a good 4-star standard than a true 5-star experience. That said, the pricing does probably reflect this, and it can offer reasonable value compared with some of the higher-end 5-star hotels in Tenerife. A large resort with plenty of facilities and some real positives, particularly the spacious suites, but the dated rooms, unheated pools and average standard all-inclusive offering meant it didn’t quite feel like a 5-star stay for us.
The resort is listed as 5 star and the rooms were clean & large enough. The cleaning staff cleaned the surfaces they could see, but large quantities of dust had gather under the single bed/sofa. I had an incident at the pool regarding sun loungers which one of the pool staff made considerably worse by becoming aggressive with me as he only spoke Spanish and couldn't understand what I was saying when 3 Spanish just sat on loungers we were using. Senior Management were no better when offering us free dinner as compensation (we were all inclusive!) and just didn't take any responsibility for their aggressive staff member.
