You're just 900 metres from the centre of El Medano, and you're right on the seafront too. In other words, when you stay at the Arenas del Mar Hotel you're absolutely perfectly placed for a fabulous holiday in one of Tenerife's most popular spots. And what about that beach… it's one of the most impressive stretches of beach in the whole of Tenerife. It really is amazing: beautifully black sands that stretch as far as the eye can see, bordered by the irresistible blue of the Mediterranean.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel has certainly earned its four stars and its incredible reputation. People flock to El Medano for that beach and that wonderful weather. And for anyone who's stayed there, the Arenas del Mar Hotel is just as much of a draw.
The views are outstanding, and its position on the seafront within easy reach of both town and beach is unrivalled. But location isn't everything. The Arenas del Mar Hotel is so enduringly popular because it's such a smart, modern hotel with fantastic amenities.
Just wait till you see the pool. Fringed by recliners and a wave of trees, – and then by the beach itself; there's something so much more exhilarating about swimming with the unmistakable scent of the fresh sea air in your nostrils.
Whatever you do, don't forget that there's an indoor pool too. Part of a wonderful recreation suite, with the superb spa facilities available*, you really could spend a lot of time here. Floor length windows let in loads of that wonderful light, and bring out the gorgeous colours in this little haven of peace and tranquillity. Please note the recreation suite is open to Adults only.
One of the really nice things about the Arenas del Mar Hotel is that sense that whatever you might hope for, the reality is better. The guests' rooms are a good example. Bigger and better than most hotel rooms, the standard rooms are actually junior suites. So there are double beds as standard, and plenty of room for you to relax and unwind.
All rooms come with a wonderful balcony – well, you really do want to make the most of those incredible views. They also satellite plasma TV and phone, room safe and minibar. Sea view rooms are also available.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel is choc-full of amenities too, ranging from its own internet cafe and shop, to a TV lounge and all sorts of activities. With a restaurant, cafe and pool bar as well, this really is one of those hotels that you could quite happily luxuriate in for a week or more.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel in El Medano is a tourist hotspot. Some are drawn by its wonderful beaches; but some – those who've been before and stayed at the Arenas del Mar Hotel – can't resist another stay at the region's premier four star facility.

The 4* Arenas del Mar is situated on the seafront in El Medano, just 900 metres from the centre. It is an ideal choice for a relaxing holiday with stunning views of the ocean and a fantastic array of amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, entertainment area, bars and a superb modern spa at a fee. La Jaquita Beach, a black sandy beach is close to the hotel.
I stayed for a short solo 4 day break so had a restful stay. The hotel was nice with comfortable accommodation with a nice sea view, but the location was not good as too far from any facilities - local shops were a very long walk away with no public transport. Did not like the beach with its volcanic black sand. The region is very windy which is great for the surfers and paddle-boarders but not for a walk on the beach.
This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The rooms are nicely furnished with lots of space, we had a room with a seaview and its was stunning. This is a very quiet and relaxing hotel. There is no entertainment during the day, so no pool games or aqua aerobics. The entertainment in the evening is ok but not great. The food was good with lots of choice during the main meal sittings. But very limited on snacks during the day. So if you like to snack between 10am when breakfast finishes and 1pm when lunch starts your choices are sandwiches or pastries. My only complaint would be the air conditioning in the room. It's really not up to standard and speaking to other guests they felt the same.
Our room was lovely apart from our ‘mountain view’ which looked out on to a car park. FOOD Breakfast food was lovely, lunch was mediocre just not to our liking not a great variety, dinner some nights was dreadful to the point we had to order in. We had to go to the shop next door every night for snacks and drinks as we struggled at meal times. CLEANLINESS We had refused housekeeping the first few days but the day we received it our rubbish had been left dirty towels with makeup left floor still dirty it was if the beds were made and that was it. STAFF The reception staff were excellent lively and helpful. The bar staff were on there phone watching the football at night.Jorge who works in the ‘disco’ area was a breath of fresh air he was lovely dancing trying to keep the ever lacking atmosphere alive. ATMOSPHERE The clientele of the hotel was very much 50s and over a lot of retired people which was not advertised to us as friends going on there first holiday together, felt very judged by others due to this. DAYTIME Not the hotels fault but the pool area is very very windy to the point a lady got hit by an empty sunbed, the pool is salt water which turned us away from using it the only non windy bit has no sun for most of the day. there is no daytime activities. ENTERTAINMENT There is a severe lack of entertainment however if the hotel was to put on good entertainment I don’t think the clientele would actually attend as the one night there was a singer. There was only about 8 people showed up to watch her. One of the few redeeming points is the spa great treatments but did not appreciate you had to pay 15 euros just to use the pool and facilities. LOCATION you are a 20 minute walk into el Médano however when we booked this accommodation it was advertised as being right in el Medanos doorstep. The hotel offers a shuttle bus on certain days to Siam park and to the adeje markets it is 15 euros a return, we were 45 euros in a taxi to adeje. VALUE poor value for money for being a ‘four’ star hotel the all inclusive is very limited bottom of the barrel drinks everything else is at a cost even the safe isn’t a deposit system it’s an added 21 euros for the week. We are very disappointed as we are two women in our twenties long time friends first holiday together and felt as if we were in assisted living with the sun. couldnt wait to get home.
I love it here. Its quiet with the small town of El Medano a 15 min walk away. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. I love floatong in the salt water pool. No entertainment at the pool this time, not sure why? ,The food is okay, hit or miss with some dishes, but always plenty to choose from. The staff here are amazing, super helpful. Heard one person complain about the all inclusive alcohol, their interpretation of 'premium' which you have to pay for, please just give their brands a chance, some are actually better than premium. A lovely massage at the spa too.
Loved meeting other holiday makers, especially Anne & John!.
