You're just 900 metres from the centre of El Medano, and you're right on the seafront too. In other words, when you stay at the Arenas del Mar Hotel you're absolutely perfectly placed for a fabulous holiday in one of Tenerife's most popular spots. And what about that beach… it's one of the most impressive stretches of beach in the whole of Tenerife. It really is amazing: beautifully black sands that stretch as far as the eye can see, bordered by the irresistible blue of the Mediterranean.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel has certainly earned its four stars and its incredible reputation. People flock to El Medano for that beach and that wonderful weather. And for anyone who's stayed there, the Arenas del Mar Hotel is just as much of a draw.
The views are outstanding, and its position on the seafront within easy reach of both town and beach is unrivalled. But location isn't everything. The Arenas del Mar Hotel is so enduringly popular because it's such a smart, modern hotel with fantastic amenities.
Just wait till you see the pool. Fringed by recliners and a wave of trees, – and then by the beach itself; there's something so much more exhilarating about swimming with the unmistakable scent of the fresh sea air in your nostrils.
Whatever you do, don't forget that there's an indoor pool too. Part of a wonderful recreation suite, with the superb spa facilities available*, you really could spend a lot of time here. Floor length windows let in loads of that wonderful light, and bring out the gorgeous colours in this little haven of peace and tranquillity. Please note the recreation suite is open to Adults only.
One of the really nice things about the Arenas del Mar Hotel is that sense that whatever you might hope for, the reality is better. The guests' rooms are a good example. Bigger and better than most hotel rooms, the standard rooms are actually junior suites. So there are double beds as standard, and plenty of room for you to relax and unwind.
All rooms come with a wonderful balcony – well, you really do want to make the most of those incredible views. They also satellite plasma TV and phone, room safe and minibar. Sea view rooms are also available.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel is choc-full of amenities too, ranging from its own internet cafe and shop, to a TV lounge and all sorts of activities. With a restaurant, cafe and pool bar as well, this really is one of those hotels that you could quite happily luxuriate in for a week or more.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel in El Medano is a tourist hotspot. Some are drawn by its wonderful beaches; but some – those who've been before and stayed at the Arenas del Mar Hotel – can't resist another stay at the region's premier four star facility.

The 4* Arenas del Mar is situated on the seafront in El Medano, just 900 metres from the centre. It is an ideal choice for a relaxing holiday with stunning views of the ocean and a fantastic array of amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, entertainment area, bars and a superb modern spa at a fee. La Jaquita Beach, a black sandy beach is close to the hotel.
Just returned from a week at arenas del Mar tenerife 12 to 19 June with my 85 year old mother in law while the hotel is in a rugged rock area and can be windy it is quite unique and it's off the beaten tourist track it's so peaceful and wonderful. As for the hotel it stands on its own but you can see the waves rolling in and out as for the previous reviews and comments on TripAdvisor in opinion they are so unreal and is doing the hotel a total injustice. not fantastic looking from the outside I agree but as not for everything else commented on. from arriving at reception we were welcomed polite friendly staff member Tanya then during the stay we also met Charlotte who were always happy and helpful best reception staff I have met in a while. Now to the rooms we had very large junior suites over looking the mountains unfortunately our rooms were overlooking the car park not the best so next time will be booking sea view room but the rooms were extremely clean everyday with towels changed and bed changed when required now to the restaurant staff were lovely polite and cheerful food was lovely no complaints plenty of variety and choice of hot and cold even for very fussy eaters and people with dietary requirements hot was mostly cooked fresh salad barshad lots of choice deserts to die for and plenty of fresh fruit breakfast had everything you could want for breakfast cannot undersrtand negativity about food what else are you expecting pool is really lovely plenty of sunbeds drinks were plentiful and satisfactory from all bars for what we wanted all bars staff were polite and cheerful ihad a massage by a young guy sorry didn't get his name but had a lovely massages thank you to him didn't get time to use the pa but will when I return as for the moans about the planes over head dint bother us quite pleasant bearing in mind only ten minutes from the airport entertainment for us washit and miss but the saxophonist and pianist were fantastic entertaining but relaxing at the same time couldn't believe how many young couples were there as well as older so can't be that bad we had a fantastic holiday so thank to each and everyone of the staff so please people give this hotel a chance I will be returning just as soon as is possible from both the Christine garrods
Well after reading a few negative reviews before we visited, I was dreading the holiday, upon arrival the hotel isn’t too appealing from outside, but once you step into the foyer it was very welcoming, reception staff was very pleasant and gave us lots of info upon check in. The room we booked was nice and spacious with a sea view, clean and tidy. The food was nice a lot of variety, fresh salad, fruit and fish and meat was cooked whilst you wait. Pool area was clean and tidy, staff at the pool bar were really friendly. Bar staff in the evening were very efficient, didn’t have to wait long for drinks. If you want a late night this isn’t for you, bar closes bang on 11pm It’s not the most expensive holiday we’ve been on but you get what you pay for.
Just arrived back from 10 days at Arenas Del Mar, and our seventh visit. As usual a lovely greeting and welcomed by many of the staff who have been there a long time and have taken time to talk to us. Having been all over the world on vacations this is a cheap filler Holliday for us so as with anything, you get what you pay for. Yes we have had better food but by the same token paid for it..... There was always something to eat with a huge salad selection and fresh cooked meat of some description along with some occasional themed evenings. Jet 2 advertise no entertainment as such but there was some as it happend so if you wanted it it was there, personally I could take it or leave it, it's the chilled out bonus that we go for. El Medano itself is a cracking family orientated town offering entertainment if required a nice selection of shops and just a 10 minute walk away. If you are looking for good value, a chilled out atmosphere then this has to be a contender for sure, some of the negative reviews quite frankly are facicle and sound like they probably relate to a different hotel!!!
Great hotel. Went for my 60th birthday. Our room was upgraded and a bottle of champagne was delivered to our room on my birthday, which was a lovely surprise. Food was good and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Have booked to go back next year. Thank-you for a lovely stay.
5/5 loved this hotel provides exacty what it says on tin and definitely budget friendly looking to return next year
