This stunning family-friendly hotel is nestled in the popular tourist resort of Costa Adeje, offering a perfect place for families, couples and groups of friends. It enjoys a great location within a short walk from the marvellous beach and within easy reach of bustling commercial area with shopping centre, restaurants and wide array of entertainment venues such as the nearby waterpark. This elegant complex comprises different accommodation options including standard, double, superior and family rooms. Guests may retire to their tastefully appointed units, where natural tones beautifully combine with cosy furniture and modern amenities. The charming in-house buffet-style restaurant offers show-cooking and serves a wide selection of Italian, Spanish, Mexican and Canarian specialities. The youngest guests will delight in mini club and entertainment while adults may plunge at the outdoor pool or lounge with a drink at the bar.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed at Villa Tagoro in Tenerife and, unfortunately, this has been one of the most disappointing holiday experiences we have had.
One of the first issues we encountered was being told by reception that the hotel had run out of bottled water and charge €2.50. For an all-inclusive resort, we found it unacceptable that guests were advised to purchase small bottles from a vending machine or get told to go to the shop.
The most concerning issue, however, was the presence of cockroaches. We visit Tenerife every year and have never experienced anything like this before. In fact, we stayed only ten minutes away last year and had no such problems. To be honest, we have never encountered cockroaches in any accommodation we have stayed in on the island, making this particularly disappointing. Cleanliness throughout our stay has also been a major concern. We found the apartment to be dirty, and the bedding did not appear to be properly cleaned. This is simply not what we expect from a hotel advertised as a four-star property.
As someone with dietary requirements, I was shocked to be advised on arrival to find somewhere else to eat on fish night. The allergen-free meal I ordered never arrived, and there was very limited allergen information displayed alongside the food. The buffet labels identified dishes but provided no allergen details. I was also concerned to see children placing their hands into multiple food trays, creating a clear risk of cross-contamination for guests with allergies or dietary restrictions.
The food and drink facilities were also consistently lacking. The post-mix soft drink machines were frequently empty, and on several mornings the juice machines were not working properly. The coffee machines often dispensed very small amounts, requiring multiple attempts just to get a normal-sized drink. Even basic items such as ketchup were regularly empty and not replenished promptly. While these may seem like minor issues individually, when they happen repeatedly throughout a holiday, they become frustrating and reflect poor management and attention to detail
We also paid extra to upgrade our room to include a hot tub, which unfortunately turned out to be a complete waste of money. The water was green, clearly not being maintained to an acceptable standard, and there was no way we felt comfortable using it. Although we reported the issue and were assured that the hot tubs were maintained regularly, we did not see anyone inspect, clean, or maintain ours during the entire 10 days of our stay. Considering we specifically paid extra for this facility, it was extremely disappointing and left us feeling that we had wasted money on an upgrade we could not use.
Despite raising our concerns, we felt they were not addressed satisfactorily. As a result, we spent much of our holiday away from the hotel, incurring significant additional costs on meals and excursions simply because we did not feel comfortable remaining there. Combined with the disruption and lack of sleep caused by these issues, it has had a substantial impact on our holiday. Given the price paid for this holiday, the overall experience has fallen far below our expectations. Cockroaches, poor cleanliness standards, inadequate allergy management, poorly maintained facilities, shortages of bottled water, and repeated issues with food and drink service are not what we expect from a four-star all-inclusive resort.
Sadly, this holiday has been so disappointing that we are genuinely relieved to be back home. Based on our experience, I would not return to Villa Tagoro and would strongly encourage prospective guests to read recent reviews carefully before booking.
Home from a 10 day stay. Quick check in. We had an issue with 2 of our rooms having 4 children under 4 & the rooms were up a flight of stairs. Unsuitable for our young family. ( rooms were changed) Our room was clean & spacious. Bed was comfortable and a fan above the bed was great, air con was okay. Not sure it would be adequate in very hot conditions.
The restaurant had a ramp near where you park your buggy, but after our 3rd day this was closed off & you we’re made to walk through the restaurant from the other end, this didn’t make sense as the ramp was how you got to the pool toilet & parked buggies. Why close it off !! Plus not ideal with so much hot food being carried around in the restaurant with having to walk through with young children.. There was a good selection of food. Obviously some bits a bit samey , but plentiful & fresh. The signage could be better as we had a vegetarian & many dishes didn’t state if it contained meat.
The staff work tirelessly to keep everything clean & there were always plenty of high chairs. Entertainment in the evening was mainly indoors, which was a shame as they had a stage outside to use. Plus you had to go downstairs to enter the indoor entertainment. The pool entertainment was great. Two of the men ( sorry didn’t get names) working hard to interact guests with pool games etc. they were great. Pool is a good size & a baby pool next to it is only a couple of feet deep. Just a note . No pool inflatables for adults are allowed in the pool Only babies ones.. There is a box where people leave their pool toys for others to use which is nice. There is a small park, the other side of the complex, which looked tired and in need of more swings etc. this was close to the kids splash pool & another small pool. This area was all a bit tatty as were the sun beds too.
The pool bar opens at 11am and you can get snacks throughout the day. Chips burgers etc.
There is an indoor play area where there are staff all the time. It could do with a few more toys, and many are just broken or not working. Arts & crafts are available for the older children. The hotel is quite a walk to the beach, a shuttle bus takes you twice a day if needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic hotel with great staff, especially Jorge in the dining room, he was so lovely and really looked after us during our stay. The place is very clean and well looked after and the rooms are massive! We had a couple of deluxe doubles that were inter-connected so it was perfect for us.
There is great entertainment for kids and a kids club.
There is a laundry on site which is brilliant! Two washers and a dryer (not that you need that as the balconies have hanging racks) it’s 5 euros for a 13kg load and there’s washing powder/softener already in the machine. It’s a win win! No dirty laundry to bring home!
Pool towels are provided for a 20euro each refundable deposit.
It’s about 10-15 mins walk down to the promenade and beach, bring a drink as it’s all uphill on the way back.
We’ve really loved it here and if you ask for rooms 9-13 you literally walk straight out onto the main veranda and can watch the entertainment from there and it’s right by the pool too.
Before travelling to this hotel we had good expectations after reading previous reviews. Having now been here 4 days we can safely say this hotel has massively exceeded any expectation! I cant fault the hotel at all. Rooms spacious and spotless clean, ground immaculate, pool area always fresh and clean, restaurant spotless. Large variety of food for every taste with theme nights. Shops 5 min walk, shopping centre 10 min walk and beach front at bottom of the hill with incredible sunsets. ALL staff from reception to bars to restaurant to room service to entertainment, even the manager came round for a chat to guests during dinner one night…….everyone, go above and beyond. Super friendly and welcoming. Big special mentions to Enzo and Miguel (my son thinks hes named junior lol), they are a credit to the hotel. Huge well done every single one of you, i cant speak highly enough. we will 100% recommend and be back!
We have just returned from our 6th stay at this hotel, having first visited 10 years ago and to be honest will probably be our last time. We love the location of the hotel and my goodness the staff work so hard, however it didn't have the same friendly atmosphere. The sunbeds were packed so closely together, you had to really squeeze past to get out. On one occasion a family pushed our loungers aside while we were in the pool, knocking off our belongings to squeeze more loungers in. The restaurant was so busy at times, it was difficult to find a table and on occasions would find that the food choices were limited as had run out and waiting for more to come out. We also found the pool area was sometimes dirty, dirty plasters and hair bobbles beside sun loungers. The fan in the bedroom is very noisy and not very effective. It's such a shame as we absolutely loved this hotel and have had fabulous holidays with our kids. The staff do work incredibly hard, however it just felt that they were unable to cope with the high volume of guests. We felt a bit sad about this holiday as we have always had such a fabulous time when staying here previously but unfortunately it has lots it's sparkle and time to try something new. A special shout out to Jorge who has been amazing over the years and gave us such a lovely welcome again this year
