My friend and I visited Los olivos beach resort hotel for a 10 day all inclusive get away and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel was lovely, we did see some negative reviews so we were shocked by this feedback once we arrived and saw how beautiful the hotel was. It has two pool areas and a pool bar, plenty of sunbeds and nice areas to eat at. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating throughout our whole stay. Shout out to Lorenzo for our delicious cocktails!! 🍸 The apartment was great and they provided clean towels through our whole stay. We would definitely choose to come back here. Thank you x
So we arrived here last July at around 8:45 pm to a solitary girl at reception. She was lovely but overran by the new party of holidayers wanting to check in. It took close to an hour before we checked in. We was then given a map of where to go. This wasn't easy because it's literally like a maze. The rooms where moderately ok, been in worse but that's as good as it got. In the 10 nights that we stayed they only changed the bed linen 2 times and the towels 3 times, despite us almost pleading with reception to have the cleaners do which is effectively their job. There was one man in particular who served on reception, who was extremely rude and dismissive. The bar staff were nice, but the night entertainment was soooo bad. We went all inclusive but ate out every night because the food was substandard at best. My wife and I loved fanabe, it really is a beautiful place, but we would never stay in that hotel again. I doesn't deserve a 1 star review but most certainly needs to improve immensely if it was to get a 3 star from me. A couple who we befriended had a serious problem with cockroaches. Fortunately for us we never, but we shan't be giving los olivos the opportunity to present us with them, that's gorgeous sure.
Overall, Los Olivos offers good value for money, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved.
Check-in wasn’t a great start. After arriving around midnight following a long day of travelling, we found our apartment was quite a walk from reception. When we got there, our key card didn’t work, so we had to walk all the way back to reception before finally getting into our room.
The apartment itself was fine, but the outdoor furniture was quite damaged and the shower head and hose were looking very grimy. The apartments are self-catering, but there were no washing-up supplies provided (no washing-up liquid, sponge or tea towel), which made keeping the kitchen clean difficult.
Housekeeping was inconsistent. They often came at awkward times when we were getting ready after the pool, and when we requested clean bedding it took several hours before someone arrived. Rubbish also built up during the week because it wasn’t emptied regularly.
The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed breakfast and using the pool at the sister hotel. The location is excellent—right next to the beach, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. I’d also recommend using the sister hotel’s reception, as it’s much closer to the beach and the main strip.
The only other downside was noisy neighbours with late-night arguments and slamming doors. Would suggest slow shutting doors and maybe more security to control nighttime noise.
Overall, you get what you pay for. It’s a great location with friendly staff, but improvements to housekeeping, maintenance and a few basic self-catering essentials would make a big difference.
Stayed 3 years ago was lovely this time however room had cockroaches in the pool area 2 nd week Over run with drunken youths on the all Inclusive all day in the pool carrying on so won’t be returning again
Stayed here for 7 nights and would be very unlikely to return. Food is inedible and undercooked with not a lot of selection especially for people with dietary requirements. We ate out every day due to this. If you are under the age of 50 would not recommend this hotel, no entertainment through the day/night and the atmosphere at the pool is very low. We were told not to have lilos in the pool that this removes the chlorine unless your a child which was confusing to us. We were not a loud group but felt very uncomfortable at the pool as if we were being constantly looked at. Room was never cleaned and we had to ask for fresh towels, cockroaches also were of a slight issue but I understand this can occur due to being on the ground floor. The sky bar was the best part of the hotel but this was not included within the all inclusive, staff there were amazing and food and drinks were a lot better than the standard hotel. Location was very good which was probably one of the only benefits of this hotel and Miguel who was extremely helpful and accommodating, rating this review 2/5 is for those reasons only. For paying over £1000 each we were expecting a lot better than we received and would highly advise to look for better hotels for the same price as this is something we wish we did.
