We have stayed at most of the 5-star hotels in Costa Adeje and this year decided to try the Iberostar Selection Salomé, as the adults-only setting looked like the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. One of the butlers checked us in, offered us a chilled glass of champagne and personally took us to our room — a lovely touch and a great start to our stay.
Our first impression coming out of the lift was that the cream carpet throughout the corridor was very badly stained, which unfortunately doesn’t give the best first impression. However, it’s important to make the distinction between stained and dirty. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean, and at no point did we feel that cleanliness was an issue. The carpet is really more about the aesthetics and the impression it creates.
Our room was lovely, with a fantastic view, very clean and with plenty of wardrobe space. We did feel that the bathroom was on the small side, particularly the shower, for a hotel of this standard, and it could perhaps benefit from a little TLC. The hard flooring in the living area was also quite badly marked and, again, would benefit from being replaced. These are relatively minor points, but addressing them would make a noticeable difference to the overall appearance and first impression of the hotel.
The à la carte breakfast was absolutely amazing. The food was excellent, the views were gorgeous and the staff were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed not having to deal with a buffet every morning — having breakfast cooked and served to you made it feel much more relaxed and special.
However, the staff throughout the entire hotel deserve a special mention. It isn’t just one department or a few individuals — every member of staff we encountered contributed to making our stay so enjoyable. From the pool team who prepare your sunbed area for you in the morning and make sure everything is ready for a day of relaxing, to the housekeepers, butlers and the waiting staff in the bars and restaurants, everyone was consistently friendly, attentive and professional.
What really stood out was how genuinely interested everyone seemed to be in our experience. Staff would regularly ask how our stay was going and whether we were enjoying ourselves, and it never felt forced or simply part of a routine. There was a real warmth to the service which made us feel looked after throughout our stay. This level of attention, from the moment we arrived until we left, is something that really sets Salomé apart.
The outside space and pool areas are also a huge part of what makes Salomé special. There are plenty of sunbeds, lots of different areas to relax and the whole environment is incredibly peaceful and quiet. We have never spent so much time simply relaxing around a pool on holiday. We normally like to get out and about, but the atmosphere here was so chilled that we were more than happy to spend our days by the pool.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. There are a few areas where we feel the hotel could benefit from some cosmetic refurbishment, particularly the corridor carpets and flooring in the rooms, but these points did not detract from what was otherwise a wonderful holiday.
The outstanding staff, beautiful pool areas, peaceful atmosphere and fantastic breakfast are what we will remember most about Salomé. It is a genuinely relaxing adults-only hotel, and one we would happily return to.
I stayed in this wonderful hotel in July with two friends. I'm not going to repeat what has been said in all the other glowing reviews on this site. I agree with them all. I have finally found a Hotel that I want to return to as often as I can. I am not alone as we recognised repeat guests from our previous two visits. We know the adjoining Anthelia very well having visited many times over the years during summer and at Christmas and New Year. Much as we love the Anthelia, Joia Salome is different class and offers the best of both worlds as you can use the facilities in the Anthelia too. Although I travelled with friends I feel this is a hotel I could also visit solo. The reason for this is how welcome and comfortable all the staff make you feel. I need to mention some of the staff that have made our holidays so special and the reason we want to return - apologies if I've missed anyone. Janeth who made breakfast in the Mirador my favourite meal of the day - the Tattinger and Moet helped too! Her customer service skills are exceptional and her team are a credit to her and Iberostar. The chefs deserve a special mention too with their choice of little tasters off the main breakfast menu. Other ladies at breakfast who kept my Champagne topped up were Jessica , Luz Mary and Palenzuela. The girls around the pool are brilliant and always remember your favourite coffee and drinks. Janeth keeps everything running smoothly but the beautiful Vicki, Amanda, Nereida and not forgetting Rebecca (who makes exceptional cocktails) deserve special mentions too. Rebecca usually works in Lagarto in the evening and it is worth calling in for a pre dinner drink or a nightcap to engage with her. You will not be disappointed she is good fun and has a brilliant sense of humour. Our butlers Raquel and Jocelin were as efficient as ever and not only met but exceeded our expectations. Hopefully I will be visiting for the fourth time very soon - see you there!
The atmosphere around the pool is quiet, peaceful and very relaxing. The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you. The meals at all the restaurants and breakfast restaurant were outstanding. Drinks and cocktail were strong and hit the spot. Evening entertainment was fun and enjoyable. Lobby and mall bar staff were great and we really enjoyed a local drink Barrachito each night.
We will be returning next year.
This was our 2nd Stay at Salome, our first visit was 3years ago and we will definitely return. Service was excellent & food amazing. We ate at the buffet in the evenings and found the selection very extensive and so much choice. Vicky at the Salome bar was brilliant at making Hurricane cocktails & went above and beyond for us. We found waiter Mario and Luis brilliant too in the buffet restaurant in the Anthelia hotel. Hopefully we will be back again next year!
Wow where do I start. You get Champagne and chocolates at check in. Roman was very helpful and informative. Took all of our luggage to the room. The room itself was on the 3rd floor, very spacious, big bed, lots of hanging space. everything you need. Very clean too. The view was great, over the pool and to the sea. Poolside was great, always sunbeds free, very quiet with attentitve and friendly waitresses. Breakfast was nice, we did a la carte in the Solome terrace and also the buffet. You could use the buffet and eat upstairs too. My wife and I loved to fill a couple of glasses of fizz and bring them down to evening meal in Zeus. The buffet breakfast and evening meal were superb, plenty of variety, food kept warm and hot. The meat was luscious and cooked in front of you. I used the gym regularly, dumbbells go upto 22kg, also had machines for back and a dual cable station. Plenty of cardio equipment. Indoor and outdoor space. It has n air-conditioning so can get rather hot in the summer. We ate in other restaurants for free (paid for drinks) as part of our half board package. Portofino and Seasoul which were very nice, great staff and great food, delicious. The app was useful to see activities and evening entertainment aswell as contacting staff. Its nice to get a turn down service with a chocolate on the bed each night. Would highly recommend this hotel.
