Excellent all round hotel.

This hotel is lovely. We are here now. Rooms are clean. They have shampoo, conditioner, bodywash. Rooms also have tissues and a hairdryer. There is a bottle in your room that you can fill up for free in most of corridors so no five mile walk with bottles. Free of charge. We have found the staff so very friendly and the food very nice and fresh. Drinks are also top notch and mojitos are the winner. The entertainment team have wonderful shows at night. Best I've seen for years. 5/5 hotel. I write this review to show people the positive sides.

Fantastic family holiday

What a holiday, lovely clean hotel close to shops, bars and restaurants 15 min walk to the beach, the rooms were lovely and got cleaned everyday with fresh towels, food differed every night from Mexican to Italian, Spanish to seafood an sushi weather was beautifully hot (36•c) would definitely go back to this hotel although did not like getting up at 6am to reserve sunbeds as the best ones go very early all in all had a fantastic holiday a week was not enough would recommend this hotel to any family and friends

My happy place

Returning visitor to my favourite hotel. Visited here in both October 2025 and June 2026 so this review captures the moments of both. In my opinion the staff are what makes this hotel the most special place. The entertainment team led by Soi can’t do enough for you, especially Alex and Carlos on the games during the day. My partner enjoyed the activities led by Saray, Saul & Alba, and the team as a whole put on some brilliant shows on a night. Food here is what I have simply came to expect, plenty of choice every single day at all mealtimes. Bar staff very quick & they have good memories, soon learning regular orders! In the June trip I stayed on floor 3 on the premium terrace and the private bar & relaxing space was lovely after the pool shut at 6pm. Traveller tip regarding the pool, towels are a €20 euro cash deposit at the start of your holiday. The new outdoor gym is a great feature too.

I couldn’t speak enough positive words about this hotel and that’s why it’s my special place. Roll on the next visit!

TripAdvisor Review
Brilliant, could be exceptional if they refurbish and upgrade the pool and rooms.

We booked a seven-night All Inclusive holiday with TUI at the Iberostar Waves Las Dalias in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable family holiday. The hotel’s greatest strengths are its exceptional staff, excellent food and brilliant evening entertainment. However, some areas of the building and facilities are beginning to look dated and no longer fully reflect the standards many guests would expect from a modern four-star hotel.

Food and Drink

The food was exceptional for a family all-inclusive hotel and was one of the strongest parts of our holiday.

The main restaurant offered a wide and varied buffet each day, with themed evenings including Asian, Indian and Italian nights. There was always a good selection of different meats, fish and seafood, alongside salads, vegetables, side dishes and international favourites.

Children were also very well catered for, with familiar options such as pizza, chips, chicken nuggets and the usual family-friendly choices. This made mealtimes easy for families with younger or more selective eaters.

Breakfast was consistently good. A full English breakfast was available each morning, together with continental options, pastries, breads, cereals, yoghurts and a large selection of fresh fruit.

The soft drinks were excellent, with the full Coca-Cola range available.

The alcoholic drinks selection was adequate for an all-inclusive hotel. The spirits were generally not premium brands, but there was enough choice for most guests. The rosé Prosecco was particularly good and became one of our favourite drinks during the stay.

Every evening, the hotel also provided bowls of crisps, peanuts and other snacks around the bar and entertainment area. This was a small but very welcome touch.

Hotel Staff

The staff were exceptional throughout our stay.

Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, polite and extremely hard-working. This included the reception staff, restaurant team, bar staff, housekeeping and entertainment team.

They created a warm and relaxed atmosphere and consistently appeared willing to help guests.

A particularly impressive example came during the England versus Mexico football match. Members of staff volunteered to work later than usual to ensure the bar remained open and fully staffed throughout the night so guests could watch the match together.

This was an amazing gesture and showed just how committed the staff were to giving guests the best possible experience.

Evening Entertainment

The entertainment provided during our stay was brilliant and far better than we had expected from a family all-inclusive hotel.

There was a different show every evening, which meant the programme never felt repetitive.

Night One – Motown Tribute

The first evening featured a Motown tribute performed by a four-vocalist band. It was a lively and professional show with a great selection of classic Motown and soul songs.

Night Two – ABBA Tribute

The second evening featured an ABBA tribute. It included all the familiar hits and created a fun atmosphere, with guests singing and dancing along.

Night Three – Disney Musical Show

The third evening was a Disney musical production performed by the hotel’s own Entertainment Team.

The show featured songs from:

  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Tarzan
  • The Lion King
  • Aladdin

The costumes, singing, choreography and overall production were excellent. It was obvious that a great deal of work had gone into preparing the show.

Night Four – Queen Tribute

The fourth evening featured a Queen tribute. This was another energetic and entertaining performance with many of the band’s best-known songs.

Night Five – Neon Dance Club Night

The fifth evening was a Neon Dance Club Night with a live DJ, lasers, lighting effects and smoke machines.

The atmosphere was fantastic and the entertainment area was transformed into a lively outdoor club environment.

Night Six – Michael Jackson Show

The sixth evening featured a Michael Jackson show performed by the Entertainment Team.

Once again, the choreography, costumes and energy were excellent.

The Entertainment Team deserve a special mention. They worked hard throughout the day running activities for guests and then performed demanding, high-energy shows in the evening.

Their enthusiasm, talent and commitment played a major part in making our holiday so enjoyable.

Our Room

Our room was fairly basic, but it was clean and comfortable.

There were visible signs of wear around some of the door frames and sections of the floor tiling. These areas looked tired and, in my opinion, did not fully meet the standards expected from a four-star hotel.

However, the housekeeping team were excellent.

The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, fresh towels were provided, the beds were made and the room was always left tidy.

The chocolates left on our pillows were a lovely personal touch and showed the care taken by the cleaning staff.

The room would benefit from refurbishment and modernisation, but the high standard of daily housekeeping made it a pleasant place to stay.

Television and In-Room Entertainment

The room had a flat-screen television, but the entertainment options were very limited.

The only English-language channels available were BBC News and Sky News.

There were no English entertainment, film or general television channels.

The television was also not a Smart TV, so guests could not access Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube or other streaming services.

This was not a major problem for us, as we spent most of our time enjoying the hotel and resort. However, upgrading the rooms with Smart TVs and a broader range of international channels would be a sensible improvement.

Swimming Pools

The pools were adequate and usable, but they looked shabby, tired and old-fashioned.

The traditional small mosaic tiles showed signs of wear, including areas of dirty grout and missing tiles.

For a four-star hotel, the pool area requires improvement and would benefit from a substantial refurbishment.

The pools themselves were functional, but the design felt dated compared with the modern lagoon-style pools now found in many similar resorts.

A redesigned pool area with modern tiling, varied depths, landscaped sections and easier access would significantly improve the hotel.

Sunbed Terrace

The sunbed terrace around the pools was very crowded, with limited space between loungers.

At busy times, the area felt cramped and there was not much room to move comfortably between sunbeds.

Sun loungers were in extremely high demand.

Guests who wanted a good position around the pool often needed to place towels on loungers very early in the morning. The available loungers were reserved and filled quickly.

This may be frustrating for guests who do not want to get up early simply to secure somewhere to sit.

The hotel should consider enforcing a fairer sunbed policy, particularly where loungers are left reserved but unused for long periods.

Lifts

The hotel has three lift shafts serving the upper floors.

The lifts worked, but they became extremely busy during peak periods, particularly around breakfast, lunch and dinner and at the end of the evening entertainment.

At these times, queues could build quickly as large numbers of guests attempted to return to or leave their rooms.

The lifts were also quite small, which limited capacity and made waiting times longer, especially for families with pushchairs and guests with reduced mobility.

This was manageable, but it is an area where the hotel could improve the guest experience.

Overall Assessment

Iberostar Waves Las Dalias is a very enjoyable family all-inclusive hotel with outstanding staff, excellent food and genuinely impressive entertainment.

The service and atmosphere were often better than the physical condition of the building itself.

The staff clearly work extremely hard to maintain high standards and create a memorable holiday for guests.

The main weaknesses relate to the age and condition of certain facilities, particularly the pools, sun terrace, rooms, flooring, door frames, lift system and in-room entertainment.

With targeted refurbishment and investment, this hotel could become one of the best family all-inclusive hotels in Costa Adeje.
