Money went missing from my room. Spoke to manager she told me her staff wouldn't touch anything that she trusts her staff. Wasn't much help informed me just to call the police let them deal with it. Put all that aside holiday was really good hotel,food and weather was all good. Keep you stuff safe people

We got back from a stay at this hotel just over a week ago.

The hotel itself is really nice. Everything is well kept and pleasant. The rooms are decent and cleanliness is good. We went as a family of five and had two rooms next to each other and this was ideal.

The facilities are very good. There is a pool with slides for the older ones (our 15 and 12 yo both enjoyed this), a small pool with slides for the little ones (our 4 yo loved this) and then two ‘main pools’. There is also a great snack bar, an outdoor bar, a kids club, a playground, a table tennis table and other things to do. Sunbeds were plentiful and we had no issues with this. We even moved during the day on a couple of occasions with no issues. For a hotel gym, the gym is also decent (though I found a nearby gym about half a mile away and generally used this). As others have mentioned, the lift situation isn’t ideal but it’s more of a minor inconvenience than a major problem. Maybe it would be a bigger problem with prams, wheelchairs, etc.

The food is a major highlight of this hotel. I honestly can’t believe anyone would complain about it. We’ve stayed in several all inclusives before and this is the best food we’ve come across. There was SO much variety and the quality was very high. I would say we’re quite a demanding family in terms of food as all of the kids are fussy, I don’t generally eat things like pizza, burgers, etc and my wife has different tastes again. All of us were completely satisfied with what was on offer every day at every meal. It was genuinely excellent in this regard and is one of the hotel’s biggest strengths.

Staff overall were really friendly and helpful. The only issue we had at any point was that the room my son and I were sharing had only a double bed yet the other room had a fold out bed. We’d walked past our room earlier when it was being cleaned and it had one of these fold out beds initially but it had clearly been taken out. We asked if it could be put back as we explained that it wasn’t really ideal for a 15 yo and his dad to share a bed and the woman who dealt with us was initially quite unhelpful and said nothing could be done. This was really annoying. However, another staff member had clearly been listening and by the time we went back to our room after lunch (we arrived at lunchtime), a fold out bed had been put in the room and reception phoned up profusely apologetic about the whole situation. We felt that this was handled really well overall and the person who had overheard the initial conversation handled it with real tact. Throughout the rest of the holiday, the staff were great.

Tenerife is what it is. We’d never been before and it was very different to other locations we’d been to in the past. We ventured out a few times and my impression was that it’s essentially built entirely for tourism and there is a quite significant younger crowd. What I would say is this hotel in another location/country would be a lot more expensive in my view.

Only real suggestion would be to improve activities during the day. In the past when we’ve been to hotels like this, there have been things like darts comps, football, bowls, all offered throughout the day. There was not much like this other than water polo and I think water volleyball at one point. The kids club also wasn’t as good as others we’ve seen. However, these are very small things and would be easy fixes I would think.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel. If we were to ever return to Tenerife (possibly we won’t as we like to visit new places), we would absolutely be happy to stay here.

We stayed at Iberostar Waves Bouganville for 7 nights. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to shops, restaurants and the beach, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness let the hotel down. We had read reviews mentioning towel art, but none of the five rooms in our group received this during the week. More importantly, our bed sheets were not changed once during our 7-night stay. One of the sheets had a noticeable stain on it from the start, and despite housekeeping visiting daily, it was never replaced.

Although clean towels were meant to be provided, we returned one day to find a “clean” towel with brown stains on it. The room itself also wasn’t cleaned to the standard we expected. The bedside surfaces and other furniture were never wiped down, the floor was never mopped, and the drinking glasses were never replaced or exchanged during our stay.

Another downside was the noise at night. There is a bar practically underneath the hotel, and the loud music continued late into the evening, making it difficult to get to sleep if you’re a light sleeper.

Overall, the hotel has a fantastic location and the staff were excellent, but the standard of housekeeping and the noise at night were disappointing and significantly affected our experience. With improvements to cleanliness and better soundproofing, this could be a much better hotel.
