This charming hotel lies just across the pedestrian promenade from the stunning beach of Playa Fanabe. Guests will find themselves just 100 metres away from links to the public transport network, as well as a host of shopping opportunities. The hotel is situated just 18 km away from Tenerife South Airport. This wonderful hotel greets guests with charm and sophistication. The guest rooms are superbly designed, offering space and comfort in which to relax and unwind. The rooms are well equipped with modern amenities for added convenience. Guests will be impressed by the wide range of exemplary facilities that this wonderful hotel has to offer.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Had the most amazing experience here , and especially with the most amazing waitress Miriam , she was so attentive, and constantly checking in on us to make sure all was okay , definitely recommend! She’s the best
We stayed at Iberostar Selection Anthelia in early January as a family, and it was a great vacation. The hotel is not cheap, especially during the high season in Tenerife, but we felt that the overall experience was worth it.
The location is excellent: right by the ocean, with beautiful sunset views and views towards La Gomera. The area is lively and there are many people walking along the promenade, but for us this was not a problem at all. It made the hotel feel very well connected to the surrounding area.
We had a two-level room, which worked perfectly for our family. Our son stayed downstairs, while my wife and I stayed upstairs, so everyone had enough space and privacy. The room type was one of the highlights of the stay for us.
We took half board and mostly had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. This suited me perfectly, as I usually eat only twice a day. My wife and son could have lunch elsewhere when they wanted, including at the hotel for an additional charge. The food was very good, with a wide variety and something new almost every day — for example Japanese dishes, Lebanese dishes and other changing themes. As vegetarians, we also had plenty of options to choose from.
I also really liked the hotel’s approach to drinking water. Instead of plastic bottles, there are filtered water stations where guests can refill their bottles. It is practical, environmentally friendly and very convenient.
The hotel territory is clean, tidy and well maintained. There are several pools, some warmer and some at regular temperature, and my son also appreciated the gym. Another convenient feature was the travel agent desk at the hotel, which helped us book trips around Tenerife and to nearby islands.
There were a couple of small issues: when we arrived, some bedding and bathrobes were missing, but this was resolved quickly. On another occasion, someone else’s drink was mistakenly added to our bill, but once I explained that I had not ordered it and that the signature was not mine, the hotel immediately removed it. These were minor points and did not affect our overall impression.
Overall, we were very happy with the hotel. If we return to Tenerife, I do not think we will spend much time looking for another place. We would be very happy to stay at Iberostar Selection Anthelia again, probably in the same room type and again with half board.
David at the pool bar was absolutely fantastic and deserves a special mention. He looked after us so well throughout our stay, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel genuinely welcome. His service was friendly, attentive and efficient, even when the bar was busy.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always remembered what we liked, which made our holiday feel even more special. It’s people like David who make a great hotel exceptional. He’s a real credit to the Iberostar Selection Anthelia, and we hope to see him again on a future visit. Thank you, David, for helping make our holiday so memorable!
David was excellent around the pool. Friendly, attentive, and always helpful. He kept everything running smoothly and made everyone feel welcome. A great member of the team.
This was my first solo trip and I had the most wonderful experience. The hotel is GORGEOUS. It’s modern, clean, stunning and feels luxurious. It’s all very well designed and in good taste.
The staff can’t do enough for you. You arrive to a welcome drink of your choice from the bar (not a cheap pre-mix…it’s whatever you want, a good quality drink). I was grouchy from travelling but the staff were still so nice and friendly to me. In fact, one of the staff members saved my life a few days later when I choked on a headache tablet!!!! They were all so caring, happy, genuinely caring about your wellbeing, professional and helpful, every single one of them.
The service was outstanding. Staff would offer cocktails and ice cream whilst you’re sunbathing by the pool. There are loads of activities to enjoy that’s all included! I did the sunset yoga that took place outside, overlooking the sea (gorgeous!), and I did the pool exercise that was just really fun. I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. The instructors were so energised and entertaining and funny, and the music was modern with a beat. It felt like dancing in water. I loved it.
The restaurant is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I couldn’t believe the ‘buffet’ offer (if you call it that!) it was unreal! It was what you’d get if you wished for the best breakfast from a genie. It had everything you could think of; English breakie section, egg section, fruit, smoothies, juice, many yogurts and nuts and REAL, raw honey, açai (Açai!!!!), overnight oats, chia, all the super food powders, coffees and teas, bakery treat section, meats, cheeses, breads. I could go on! Dinner was on the same level. The restaurant is beautiful and there’s an outside section to sit out too. It made me wonder if this was the kind of treatment the Kardasians were used to, because it couldn’t get better.
The market food area is also great for trying other foods. The entertainment was fun too. Being a ‘solo’ traveller, that was the only time I felt a bit weird because I was on my own so I didn’t stay to watch the entertainment.
There were so many different areas of the hotel everywhere, I kept finding new sections to chill out in. My room was so nice too. I felt safe and treated very well. It felt like luxury.
The hotel is SO close to the beach and the main strip with restaurants and bars. There’s a little path to follow at the back gate. It’s very secure. Instead of a room card key, you get a wristband. I loved that. There was no worries of losing it.
I was even impressed with the lifts! You press the floor you want and then the lift tells you which lift number to wait at!
Oh, and there’s a coffee shop with amazing coffee and cakes. I had about 3 iced lattes a day. The lady learnt my order.
The staff EVERYWHERE were amazing. I loved the strawberry daiquiris at the pool bar. The pool is stunning. I enjoyed swimming in it and also reading my book at the shallow end.
And opposite the front of the hotel are shops to buy your ‘British’ goods (crisps, sweets, water, cans, biscuits). It’s dead opposite a small road you cross.
Oh, AND there’s filtered water fountains in the hotel so you can drink, clean free water to your hearts content.
I think it’s fair to say I had a fantastic experience, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for all the staff members, especially the amazing receptionist who helped me when I was choking and basically saved my life!!!!
