We have stayed at Villa Maria 4 times the past few years, in a three bed villa with private pool. It is our main holiday away and normally a lovely break. However standards have slipped for this resort, as I am writing this we have been here 48hrs. The swimming pool in the villa has stained our brand new swim wear yellow, the pool surround is disgusting. It’s covered with yellow suncream scum. I have spoken to the hotel twice about it, but they politely fob you off saying no one else has complained (also they need to check their emails before sending, as they say “we are pleased that your stay is not going as planned”. I don’t ever normally write reviews but I am that disappointed because it’s not a cheap holiday. I work in the hospitality sector in the UK at a holiday park, I have 16 years experience with customer service and swimming pools. I’ve never seen suncream/ body fat scum build up like it.
Recently returned from Villa Maria and would highly recommend. Villas were excellent, our villa had a terrace but others had pools and hot tubs, and were maintained to a high standard at all times. Never had to worry about sun loungers, plenty available and often found the top pool the quietest. Staff were friendly and helpful during our stay, with special mentions to Oscar, Pablo, Salvador, Mariana and Claudia. Food was excellent although drinks were expensive (we were HB). Location is opposite tenerife top training centre and beside golf courses and driving range. Situated quite high up so wouldnt be suitable for those with mobility issues. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.
Our discovery of Villa Maria was 4 years ago as I came across it by chance looking for something I thought I’d never find. We loved the idea of villas but find it quite hard work self catering and somethings isolating with my family off 14 ranging from ages 91 years to triplet babies.
Finding Villa Maria was a dream for us as it meant we could all have our own family Villa ( we had Bella Vista and 2 x 2 bedroom villas ) but could spend quality time as a family either in our Bella Vista which is the most incredible 3 bedroom with a private pool at the very top of the resort, amazing space with incredible views,or around the hotel pools which there are 2. Our villas were cleaned spotlessly everyday with fresh towels for villa and pool which we loved and made our stay so much easier.
Since coming 4 years ago the whole resort has been revamped from the villas to a brand new reception, upstairs sunset bar, cafe tv lounge and the beautiful Blue Oasis resturant that over looks the pool.
The staff make this hotel extra special, they go above and beyond to make your stay the best they possibly can, always there to pick us up in the buggy and take us to breakfast which is absolutely delicious btw.
My grandchild loved to spend time after breakfast at the kids club while we enjoyed a coffee. Very often they had fun activities on in the day like foam parties and zorb balls and paddle boats in the pool which they loved.
We took the complimentary shuttle bus to the beach and enjoyed a few hours strolling along the promenade and stopping off at a bar for a sangria.
The hotel arranged a nanny service to sit with the babies after they were asleep at night so the parents could enjoy a meal and drinks which I would highly recommend as Gemma was so lovely and very professional.
We would highly recommend this beautiful resort to either families or couples looking for a 5 star quality resort with stunning views and a short walk into La Caleta ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Suite Villa Maria and would happily return.
The rooms were amazing , without doubt the best we've ever stayed in. They were spacious, spotless and perfect for travelling with a baby and toddler, giving us plenty of room to relax as a family.
The customer service was excellent throughout our stay. We had a minor issue with noise one day due to work going on, and the staff were very understanding and offered to resolve it immediately, which we really appreciated.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was very good with a great selection each morning. We also ate at the hotel a couple of times. The food was ok, although we felt it was quite expensive for what it was. The on-site shop was excellent and surprisingly reasonably priced , not much more expensive than the supermarket at the bottom of the hill, which was really convenient.
The location was peaceful and relaxing, making it a great place for a family holiday. The only area that let the hotel down slightly was the entertainment. It was a bit underwhelming, particularly the mini disco, which didn't seem very organised.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable holiday. The beautiful, spacious accommodation, excellent service and peaceful setting far outweighed the few minor negatives, and we'd definitely return.
We stayed at Villa María in June 2026 and booked a three-bedroom villa with a plunge pool. The views over the golf course and beach were stunning, making it a very scenic and relaxing place to stay. Check-in was easy and informative. Our villa wasn't quite ready when we arrived, but we were able to relax in the bar area while we waited. The hotel staff transported us and our luggage to the villa in a buggy, which was a lovely touch and very convenient. They also offered this service throughout our stay, which was especially helpful as my father is disabled. The hotel pools were clean, well maintained, and never felt overcrowded. There were no "towel wars" as guests generally only used sunbeds while they were actually at the pool, so there were always plenty available. The pool bar was great, and the ice cream was delicious – my boys said it was the best they'd ever had. We stayed on a half-board basis, which was ideal as it meant we didn't have to cook. The restaurant had a lovely, friendly atmosphere, and we enjoyed trying many of the different dishes throughout our stay. You can also order lunches and snacks from the pool bar if you prefer. There is a small shop on site, which was handy on our first day for drinks and essentials. We also took a taxi to Aldi to stock up on drinks and snacks for the villa. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including a cooking station, and we never had any trouble finding a table. The villa itself was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and perfect for the five of us. When I requested extra pillows and another parasol, the hotel brought them to us without any fuss. Nothing was too much trouble. It's around a 20-minute taxi ride into town for restaurants and nightlife. There are also a few shops and restaurants at the bottom of the hill if you don't want to travel far. We visited the local market, held on Thursdays and Saturdays, which was about a 10-minute taxi ride and cost around €8. There were lots of stalls selling handbags, football shirts, socks, jewellery, purses, food, and more.
Overall, we had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing holiday. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly, the reception staff who checked us in and out were always helpful, and the buggy drivers were chatty, friendly, and accommodating. Every member of staff worked incredibly hard to make our holiday special, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.
