Amazing time with family and friends
Currently still got 3 days left out of 12 days here at this hotel and thought I’d do a review while I’m thinking about it.
Overall the hotel is good. Decent room sizes, air con is great, housekeeping comes in every day and the food is pretty average for your typical all inclusive. They do themed evening meals each night which is a good. We particularly enjoyed the tex mex night. Hotel is in a really good location. Only a small walk down to the beach front and all the shops and restaurants. Taxis are extremely easy to get simple ask at the front desk and wait outside until they arrive. Hiring a car is simple as well literally from the office in the reception and pick up and drop off back at the hotel. Same as for booking excursions the little office/table down in reception really helpful and good prices.
The entertainment is adequate, its a bit of a nightmare finding anywhere to sit again if your not there for when the doors open which for the kids then can’t see much. Also gets very hot and sticky in there.
For us a family reserving sun beds is not something we do. We like to have a wander around ect and then maybe use the pool for a few hours and this caused us issues. Unless you’re up before 8am and down by the pool to leave towels there all day which is unfair to others then you’ve got no chance. On one occasion the three beds next to us had things on for over 4 hours with nobody in sight or using them. Just don’t get why people need to do this.
The two times we have used the pool here we’ve had to share beds and get a random one from one place and other to put together. Also nowhere before hand warns you that swim shoes or slides are a must for around the immediate pool. The brown cladding is EXTREMELY hot. We came to teneriffe in hotter heat and our last hotel wasn’t an issue but if you walk more than two feet without shoes here you’ll know about it.
The pools themselves are pretty good. Sadly no floats allowed in the big pool only the small ones surrounding which gets crowed pretty quickly. Overall we spent more time at Siam park as our package included the tickets and found that this was a much easier option than trying to scramble for sunbeds.
On another note for inside the room if you have small children I’d highly recommend bringing a bath mat that goes inside the bath. They are extremely slippy and even ourselves have nearly gone over a few times.
Also make sure you have ether plenty of socks or slip on slippers for the room. The floors are filthy! You can not walk from the bathroom to the bed areas without getting completely black feet! Even the floor mat outside the bath gets covered in black from you getting in and out and the floors being dirty. I spilled some water on the floor from the sink and the colour of the towel from where I used it to mop it up with was disgusting.
The kids club isn’t the very best there’s no real communication and a lot of it wasn’t in English ether which I get were in Spain but majority of kids clubs usually at least have English so the kids understand or can read what’s actually on. I think overall if you expected to spend all day every day here as an all inclusive you’d be pretty disappointed in my opinion. Sadly the splash park is out of order too and on the first 5 days maintance around the pool was being done so there was even less sunbeds.
Overall would we come back? Probably not. Its label as a 4 star hotel and I certainly wouldn’t say it is. The hotel is very out dated and is in need of improvements to get it back up to a solid 4 star. I think for the money we paid you could get a better hotel elsewhere.
Having said that we’ve had a good stay and enjoyed our holiday so I think that’s the postive.
Firstly when we arrived I was forced to wait over one and a half hours to get booked in, no apology for the wait, only one man on reception who was rude, pointed on the map where our room was then raised his voice when I didn't understand how to get there, corridors where all in darkness, light did activate when walking but had to walk under that area first
Food very limited cooking two eggs at a time. Eating what you didn't want to eat the majority of the time and did eat out a few times. At evening meal nobody came to our table to take a drinks order, I did ask one waiter and he sighed, clearly didn't want to serve us, in the end the nights we did eat in the restaurant we found a table then I went to the bar for our drinks. Tonight after waiting 15 mins for the lasagne I gave up and went to sit back down the waitress Neg I think her name was came over when I had started eating asking if I was all inclusive which I replied we are not, where I got the drinks from I explained at the bar I was forced to leave the table to go to the bar when I turned around she was talking to someone else forcing me to walk back to her then to the bar again where she found the receipt that I had signed for the drinks. I was the only person that she had asked and I did not see her asking anyone else or anyone being asked since I have been there. She embarrassed me in front of a room full of diners and made me stop eating putting me off the already tasteless food which I feel she could have waited till I had finished at the very least.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at
The staff here are great - all very friendly and helpful - from there on in it all goes downhill. Rooms are cleaned every day but the room was in desperate need of a deep clean. The grout between the tiles in the bathroom was black with built up grime. The long vanity type unit with cupboards underneath was cheap and doors didn't close properly as they needed rehanging.Food was OK if you like fish. I do, but my son is allergic to shellfish and my granddaughter doesn't eat fish. Meat and pasta were very limited and even I was all fished out after a few days. Self serve drinks were great, and the pool bar has food all day ( buffet style) including ice-cream/ ice lollies. The pool area itself was big on area but short on sunbeds that there was ample space for, which was a big issue. The hotel states that there is a strictly no reserving sunbeds policy yet there were families getting up at the crack of dawn, reserving sunbeds and then disappearing all day, regularly not returning to the sunbeds until late afternoon. The decking around the pool is in desperate need of maintenance. It is broken and hanging off in places, warped and blistered. My little girl cut her foot on it. The floor tiles all over the outdoor areas are broken or loose. The lifts were constantly breaking down and there was no urgency in getting them fixed. The lift from the 6th floor to the pool area broke down 4 days after we arrived and was still out of order when we left a week later! This hotel is in desperate need of a refurb but basic maintenance would be a start. It's a 10 minute walk to Fanabe beach, close to bus stops to various locations which was great. There are some steep inclines back up to the hotel but couldn't really fault the location. Be warned, in my opinion, this hotel definitely doesn't warrant the 4 star status it has. Being picky I would give it 2 stars, being generous, I'd give it 3. I'm not a complainer by nature and always make the best of a bad situation, so leaving a review for a hotel for the first time should tell you something.
We have just arrived home as a family of 6 and a 19 month old. We had a great time! Already looking to book to come back next year. We always managed to get sunbeds although had to get up early. There's always plenty of sunbeds on floor 5 and nice quiet vibe lots of pools and splash park, football pitch up there. The drinks are all help yourself everything you can think of, poolside bar serving snacks and Ice cream all day, entertainment was good our son loved kids disco, the room where entertainment is, is very dark and dated and we felt there needs to be a outdoor bar area on a evening, plenty of outdoor seating but no bar. Loads of food to choose from im a vegetarian and never struggled, chefs in brasserie took me round showing me all the vegetarian options. Rooms are large, huge beds and balcony's, although they are very dark and dated, but spotlessly clean and cleaned daily. The hotel is a bit rough round the edges and could do with updating in places, but we honestly had the best time, and it's clean that's the main thing. The staff especially receptionists were lovely, we will be back next summer 😁
