Guayarmina Princess

We would rate this hotel a lower 4 star hotel overall, compared to other 4 star hotels that we have visited and do not think it’s worth the TUI ‘premium’ tag. Although aesthetically it is beautiful, with the columns and lovely pools and sunbeds and rooftop pools and contemporary interior design, the hotel lacks in some areas. The dinner food in the premium club and market buffet restaurants are fairly bland. Breakfast is better in the buffet than the premium restaurant as the pancakes were so burnt and horrible. The Roast restaurant, however was very good. Our suite sea view room was very lovely and clean and the cleaners were the kindest staff. The air con wasn’t very cold in the bedroom though. The majority of restaurant staff were not horrible, but not very warm and friendly. We had a problem with going to the local market one morning (which is great!) and didn’t go down to grab towels for a sunbed, as we knew we wouldn’t be using them and didn’t want to take any up while we wasn’t there, but when we got back and asked for a towel about 2pm, the lifeguard wouldn’t give us any as it was ‘the hotel rules, to only have new towels between 10am-12pm’ which was ridiculous! Luckily Ramona, one of the lovely TUI reps managed to help us have 2 put in our room. Dinner finishes at 9pm, which felt pretty early if you like to get down a bit later and they were strict on this. It was just a huge shame that things were more of a problem than not a problem. The cocktails weren’t amazing in the hotel and limited in selection. Furthermore, bingo was run on your mobile phone which was fine for us, but I saw elderly couples not be able to join in and a bit disappointed, which was sad. I think to be more inclusive, pen and paper would be better.

Overall I would say that it is a comfortable hotel and pleasant to stay in, with great entertainment and very clean, but compared to other 4 star hotels, this is a lower end scale one with pretty ‘off’ staff, you won’t go hungry but you won’t be overjoyed on the food, there’s rules to follow which takes away the relaxing element, and the aircon isn’t cold.

Fabulous hotel great food choice .Rooms were also great All staff were attentive and helpfull. My only comment is when we were here last year there was two acts in the evening,this year was only one.while all the acts were great we found it a bit flat before the main act and also after the main act finished But all in all was still a fabulous hotel, and would certinatly come back again.

Having traveled to dozens of destinations and stayed in around 50 hotels—mostly all-inclusive—I have a pretty good benchmark for what makes a truly exceptional resort. While Guayarmina Princess was a very good stay and easily makes my top 15, it didn't completely blow me away, and I generally don't repeat hotels. It's a solid 4-star experience highlighted by brilliant service, great food, and an unbeatable location, but a few operational tweaks could elevate it significantly.

​Staff & Service The staff deserve the biggest shoutout—they were genuinely excellent and easily some of the most attentive hotel staff I’ve encountered. Special mentions must go to Fernando at the Sunset Bar and Dominic at Reception, who were both super friendly, extremely helpful, and made us feel welcome right away.

​Food & Dining The food was second to none. Every buffet spread offered fantastic quality and variety throughout the entire trip, leaving zero complaints on the dining front.

​Room & Location The hotel's location is ideal—situated right on the beachfront promenade with immediate access to local bars and restaurants. We stayed in a Family Room on the second floor. The room itself was lovely, exceptionally spacious, and featured a fantastic shower. The only minor drawback was that it faced a public walkway outside, so pedestrians walking past could look straight over if you were out on the balcony. Not a dealbreaker, but it did compromise privacy a bit.

​Bars & Drinks Policy The Sunset Bar is easily the best bar on the property, but puzzlingly, it closes at 4:00 PM. Calling it a "Sunset Bar" when you can't actually watch the sunset from it feels like a real missed trick—a few tables up there for actual sunset drinks would elevate the experience massively. ​Another slight negative was the 1988 Bar, which sits right by the pool and is the first bar you see walking down from reception. Unfortunately, this bar only serves extra-charge cocktails. While I understand the resort caters to both Half Board and All-Inclusive guests, it felt like a bit of a kicker to be asked to pay extra for drinks at a prime poolside spot when you've already paid for an All-Inclusive package. ​Having experienced top-tier AI resorts elsewhere, the drink service here lacks a bit of theater—there were no novelty/signature cocktails included, nor staff circulating the pool area for drink orders, which would have been a nice touch.

​Pool & Facilities On the positive side, the sunlounger booking system is brilliant. Being able to reserve your spot completely eliminates the morning chair-dash and saves a lot of unnecessary holiday stress. ​The main facility area needing attention is the public restrooms. They could definitely benefit from more frequent cleaning throughout the day, and adding a few extra toilets around the resort would help eliminate the constant queuing.

​Summary A very strong resort with top-tier staff, great food, and a hassle-free lounge reservation policy. It sits comfortably in my top 15 stays, but extending the Sunset Bar hours, dropping the pay-wall on the pool bar, and adding pool drink service would push it up the list
