Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it, especially for families.
The hotel is modern, very clean, and well maintained throughout. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. The food was very good, with plenty of choice and consistently good quality.
The pool areas were spotless, with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of towels available. The adults-only Sky Bar was a lovely addition, offering great views, an infinity pool, and a relaxing atmosphere away from the busier areas.
The staff were friendly, polite, and always happy to help.
There was plenty to keep the children entertained throughout the day, with foam parties, inflatable pool slides, and water games. The hotel also catered for every age group with baby, mini, maxi, and teen clubs.
The aquatic park was another highlight, featuring a couple of water slides, a splash area, a tennis court, a climbing area, mini golf, a multi-sports court, and even a surf pool. There really is something for everyone – you couldn’t ask for much more.
We didn’t get the chance to try the BioSpa or the à la carte restaurant, but based on the rest of the hotel, I’m sure they would have been just as impressive.
Overall, I honestly couldn’t fault the hotel. It exceeded our expectations and made for a brilliant holiday. We would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Brilliant stay, lots of positives
the pools do not open until 930, meaning I can have breakfast with my family instead of needing to reserve sun beds as with other resorts
Gluten free is very good, everyday a fresh dish was prepared for my wife out back to remove the cross contamination risk. There is also a GF area with pre packaged items to choose from, the pastries per my wife were very good
The restaurant staff were awesome, my youngest has ARFID which means he only eats a few selected items so we bring our own food, one thing he does eat is strawberries so without asking the waiting staff would bring him a fresh bowl of strawberries. Nothing was too much trouble and they genuinely wanted to make the stay great.
I cannot remember his name, but there is a chap who lived in Windsor for 10 years so his English is awesome, he took great care to explain the process for allergies, there is a separate kitchen with controlled access for only chefs to control any allergy orders, never seen this before, it’s class
Waterpark was brilliant
Room was good, clean and a good size
Entertainment was good, we had the carnival on our last night which was perfect
We are back in May 27
We stayed at this hotel for a family holiday, the facilities for children are great however the rooms were a big let down. There wasn’t much space in the room itself, the bathroom quality and cleanliness was very poor, the shower didn’t drain properly, the fans didn’t work, there were ants, beds were very uncomfortable and flimsy. It just didn’t feel like 5*.
The balcony was a decent size.
In the restaurant (and everywhere else but reception) the staffs English was very poor and we quite often struggled to communicate.
I was particularly annoyed that there was no water bottle refill stations anywhere as it felt very wasteful buying plastic water bottles all the time. (A small one by the pool will set you back 3.5€ plus tip!)
The kids did enjoy the entertainment, slides and family pool. I think there was a lot more on offer for them that we didn’t even use.
The food was alright for a buffet a little repetitive but that’s expected.
Location wise it’s very convenient close to shops and can walk to the beach.
All in all it wasn’t a terrible stay but we also won’t be coming back.
This is our third time staying at GF Victoria in the past year! We normally do short 5 day breaks due to work schedules but treated ourselves to 10 nights this time. Everything has been perfect. Check in speedy and welcoming, staff all super friendly, everywhere is clean! Spa- so relaxing! I couldn’t believe there wasn’t anyone else in there. Food options in the buffet as always fantastic, we tried room service which was just as good and ate by the solarium pool at least 3 times which was great. Cocktails and beer perfect, the barman by the pool; I think is Miguel? Was efficient and always happy to have a chat with my husband. Teen club excellent too, we enjoyed pool and air hockey as well as some board games. This is the first time we tried the roof top terrace; a real treat. Excellent service and different drinks to try. Will be back next year for sure!!
This was our sixth or possibly seventh stay at this hotel and we find it hard to see past it, albeit we have had great holidays elsewhere over the years. The hotel continues to provide a high quality experience and we loved our stay here this time as much as every other time. Our daughter would stay here every year if she could
The rooms are all suites and a great size with two bathrooms, both fully stocked with full size bottles of Rituals products so no need to take shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. Great for families having the two bathrooms. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard, there is tons of wardrobe, bedroom and bathroom storage. One of the cupboards has a small kitchen sink, microwave, Nespresso machine, fridge and kettle concealed behind it with glasses and cups. The balconies are huge and either have garden or pool views with ample space.
Always a lot going on in the hotel entertainment wise with plenty to do during the day, but it is not shoved in your face like other hotels with animation teams. We skipped the evening entertainment the past couple of years as felt we had seen it all before and, having been to some amazing hotels in Turkey in the past couple of years and seen the evening entertainment shows in those hotels, the GF falls down on this front.
Most of the staff are friendly although, with the exception of Tomas and the female bar staff at the solarium pool, the other bar staff down at that pool are a bit sullen and not particularly friendly. Isn't a big deal though
The only other thing I would recommend that needs to be sorted are the televisions. They are very temperamental and not just this year, we have found this in previous years too. Only one of the TVs in our room worked which wasn't an issue for us as we rarely used them other than to watch the odd World Cup match (the rest we watched down in the main hotel) but they should all work without issue and this seems to be a persistent issue as I have noted other reviewers mention this.
The food and drink selection at breakfast is fantastic, so much choice. Despite it being a bit busy and chaotic on one of our days, probably due to us going a bit later, the staff manage everything well and relentlessly clear away dishes (with the help of the robot waiters ferrying plates back and forth). Prices in the hotel for drinks are not as high as you might expect for a hotel of this standard, albeit for soft drinks you are better buying at the shop in the Plaza Del Duque mall across the road if you are going to be drinking a lot of them.
Would be nice to be able to use the Sky bar during the day but it remains adult only, even though, in the past when our daughter used the kids club and we could go to the rooftop, the bar was empty. I wonder whether they would consider, during the day, opening this up to maybe kids of around 11 and over who can be trusted to chill and behave rather than run about? Would allow more guests to make use of it
On our last day I said to my daughter that we should maybe head up to the splash park in case we were never back at the hotel again. Don't worry about it mum, we will be, was her answer! That tells you all you need to know
