This beautiful village style hotel is located in the popular resort of Costa Adeje. GF Isabel is ideally located just a mere 600 metres from the beach and is positioned between a choice of two shopping centres, giving you plenty of activities, shops, bars and restaurants nearby.

Pros- We were given a large apartment with our own private outside area which was near the main pool. Entertainment and activities team from the hotel were 100% and my son felt comfortable staying with them to play mini golf, pool and darts. The bar staff at the pool were quick and queues went down quickly. Also the self service at the bar pool was great for kids and adults.
Negatives- Cleaners often didn’t come until quite late in the day, one day it was 5.30 and my husband told them to come back the next day. We were given towels with stains on and also ripped. Food in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss but we always found something to eat. Unfortunately we did have cockroaches in our room after a hour of checking in. We were given some spray for this.
We mainly used the main pool and although people were waiting for subbed as early as 9am, (they don’t let you reserve them until 10am) we always managed to get two.
The hotel is in need of a refurb but as it is very popular I guess it is a case of when they can close to do so.
Would we return- yes possibly.
A great family friendly hotel
We upgraded to a villa and loved the location and jacuzzi. Great location of hotel close to restaurants, bars and adeje market. Great atmosphere in the hotel and at entertainment. Amazing animation team who were great with our children. They most enjoyed the festival type evening with balloons, candyfloss and glitter paint. I was anxious after seeing reviews about the food but found it to have something for everyone including my selective eater. My daughter’s favourite being the fresh pancakes at breakfast. Only negative was that difficult to get sunbeds at main pool however we found pool at the back of the hotel much quieter and better for our needs. Cleaners went above and beyond and made my children’s blankets different each day. Reception staff also amazing with our children when we were waiting to check in and set them a hunt around the hotel. We would 100% visit again in the future and my son’s already asking when.
Have a look for another hotel
I’m currently staying at this hotel and, unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it to you. Let me start by saying that, although it wasn’t a cheap holiday – we paid over 6k euros for two weeks – we were expecting a better place. The food is average, as is the service, and the entertainment team might as well not exist. But let me get to the worst part: the room we were allocated is near the restaurant, and its flue is broken, generating a huge amount of noise – a deep bass rumble that echoes throughout the whole room. You can’t sleep or relax in peace. After we complained, they moved us to another room – and now here’s the best bit – but we have to check out by 12 because they need to clean it and hand it over to the next guests! So the next ‘lucky’ person won’t be able to sleep either. The hotel is well aware of the problem, yet it ignores it, treating guests like idiots. The second issue, which I find totally unacceptable, is the daily scramble for sun loungers by guests at the main pool. It’s literally like something out of a film about cheap Turkish hotels: at 10 o’clock sharp, the lock is released and everyone sprints for them – first come, first served!!!! For me personally, it’s a total disaster.
Lovely, clean bungalows
We have just returned from a stay in the bungalows we had linked rooms which was great for our family and also a lovely large garden terrace, nice views very clean we only stayed bed and breakfast but the kids loved the breakfast which was great for fussy eaters. The facilities were great the only downside was disgusting people staying at the Hotel who decided to use the pool as a toilet so the pool had to be closed. The staff were great really helpful we would go again but maybe when it was quieter as the sunbed carnage on a morning wasn’t very nice to see especially for kids.

A relaxing time with some quibbles
Location is good and can walk to the beach and lots to do in the resort.
This is a tired hotel and in need of a refresh. Beds are comfortable though and we had a great sized balcony.and the shower was good. Rooms are cleaned every day which was great. We did notice one night a lot of ants but didn’t see them in same number again. Our room was also a long way away from the restaurant and reception so you may want to mention this to the hotel before you arrive if you have some difficulties walking.
There are a couple of pool areas and we went to the smaller quieter pool, This was my gripe with the hotel as, I noticed that sunbeds are not hosed down daily and there are a lot of pigeons leaving what they do and the mattresses not cleaned - similar with the wicker tables around the pool.
We had the All inclusive option but this is limited so check - I did ask my travel agent (Hays) specifically about what as included and they didn’t give me the right information - not the hotels problem but an issue with my travel agent (I would recommend checking the hotel website for the correct info). Food was overall good (in comparison to other places I stayed) although a bit repetitive and staff are lovely and try hard to help.
One thing to consider on your day leaving is that from the moment you check out they withdrew access to things in the hotel, WiFi etc (won’t be popular with kids on a late flight as check out is midday) .
Overall, we had a relaxing time here, entertainment is what you would expect but not sure it would be top of my list if going back to Tenerife but I would definitely return to this resort.
