This attractive apartment complex is located in the tourist centre of Playa del Duque, about 600 m from beautiful sandy beaches. Numerous shops and entertainment venues are located in the immediate vicinity, and the nearest public transport stop is just in front of the building. The hotel comprises three-storeys with a total of 210 accommodation units. It offers a conference room and a public Internet terminal for business guests, while younger visitors can participate in the kids' club activities or let off steam in the play area. The grounds feature a water complex with two swimming pools, which is perfect for sunbathers. Guests can also make use of the sauna and sports enthusiasts can play squash, billiards/snooker, table tennis or try out diving. The hotel also offers a varied entertainment programme for adults and children.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Terrible. Day 1. Son got electric shock. Snapped plug pin still in socket. Tried to plug the fan in and his finger caught an old plug pin that was left in the socket giving him a shock and set him off screaming and panicked. Reception did not care. Said to speak to jet2. No hotel manager on site atall.
Food. Terrible. 2/10 at best. Wifi. Terrible. 1/10. Pool is clean but many trip hazards and metal poles sticking from the floor. Alot of broken sharp Pool tiles.
No air con in room. Just ceiling fan and a plug in stand fan. Not ideal.
Some staff lovely. Some quite rude.
Entertainment 5/10. Very repetitive... activities for kids. 4/10. A small park and minimal daytime activities. Maybe 1 or 2 at most by the animation team.
Would not return.
Overall, I had a mixed experience.
The hotel itself was clean, and the staff were generally friendly. However, our studio apartment was poorly equipped. There were only enough electrical sockets for the lights, fridge, cooker and kettle, leaving nowhere convenient to charge phones or other devices.
The biggest disappointment was the food. I booked all-inclusive, but we ended up eating out most days because I was travelling with my daughter and she needed proper meals. There was very little choice at meal times. The fruit was tasteless and looked artificial, and the cheese and crackers were poor quality. Lunch information wasn't clearly explained, and we often had to watch other guests before we knew where or when food was being served.
The pools were warm, which was a positive, but there were nowhere near enough sunbeds. There are two or three pools, including a baby pool, but nobody explained the layout or facilities when we arrived.
The drinks were another let-down. The lemonade was fine, but the cocktails were awful and appeared to come from pre-mixed squeeze bottles rather than being freshly made.
The evening entertainment was average. It was good for younger children, but there wasn't much for teenagers aged 14 and over. Some of the singers also stood far too close to the microphone, making the sound unpleasant.
One thing I would warn other guests about is the towel deposit. We paid a €30 deposit for our towels, but when the cleaner collected and returned them, the deposit was refunded to the cleaner instead of us. We lost our deposit, which was very frustrating.
The most upsetting part of our stay was that my medication went missing from our room. This was extremely distressing and completely unacceptable.
Overall, the hotel has some positives, but the food, lack of information, poor drinks, towel deposit issue, and missing medication meant I would not return.
Honest review, the entertainment team ismael is fantastic. He doesn't stop all day, gets the kids up in the evening and he does great games round the pool in the day time.
The day time lacks music once I spoke to Ismael he got a speaker and played some more music around the pool which was great.
The hotel itself is good, could do with a littler more cleaning, the foods not great, if your a paying guest and not all-inclusive you get treated better.
Plenty of sunbeds in the day there are 2 pools, if you wanna listen to music bring a mini speaker.
After the main entertainment there is nothing, they could do to do a DJ with some music again.
We where a family of 5 amd my youngest couldn't eat much, double check the food like the chicken and burgers I got a burger and its was raw in the middle, in the main restaurant at tea they made pizza every night and my youngest didnt like the herbs they put on so he made him a plain cheese which was great.
We had our room cleaned today and they didnt leave and towels or toilet rolls when I went to reception she was so snotty and ignorant.
Would I come back... yes but not all-inclusive
This review is just my opinion and you can make your own mind up
Just returned from adeje after a 7 night stay at el duque, the location of the hotel is in a quiet spot with a little bit nightlife, if you want to be closer to main strip you have a very steep bank to get to and from. The hotel itself is nice and chilling, we preferred the smaller pool as not as crowded as the large pool both pools were well maintained every day, Can't comment on restaurant food as didn't use them, but other guests were saying not worth going all inclusive. The rooms were pleasant enough we did have to go to the local supermarket to buy bug spray as there were lots of bugs coming in the room every night, they need to put better pillows on the beds and remove the duvet, its a very hot country no need for a quilt on the bed. The ceiling fans in the room do nothing to cool the rooms down all rooms need upgraded to the power air-conditioning and not just a handful of rooms.
After reading some of the views I was a bit nervous about coming. However, we're on our 5th day and it's lovely. Clear running water, shower is warm, we have air-conditioning and there is no noise from trolleys or maintenance. Although we are in superior room with a pool view away from restaurant so this probably helps with noise. It's a lovely room, huge balcony and the pool is not cold, another bad review I had read. We came self catering so cant comment on the bad food reviews. We're having a lovely time. No complaints.
