This charming complex is situated in a quiet location in the centre of Costa Adeje. The sprawling beach and the promenade, with its many shopping and entertainment venues, lie not far from the property. The bus station is 100 m from the complex, and the Magma Art and Congress Centre is just 50 m away. This hotel is composed of a 9-storey building with a total of 102 studios and 39 apartments. The welcoming rooms all feature an en- suite bathroom, a kitchenette and balcony as standard. The complex offers the use of a freshwater swimming pool, with an area for kids, and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. Guests can play beach volleyball, billiards and table tennis on-site.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Myself and 2 friends stayed in this hotel last month and we thought it was lovely and modern! The staff were pleasant and the food was great. We overall had a lovely stay at the hotel until our 2nd to last day
We received a phone call to our room from reception stating that one of the house keepers had made them aware of a large crack that had appeared in the shower screen. The staff automatically assumed we caused this issue and totally disregarded the fact that we hadn’t entered the bathroom or been near that area of the room for the entire duration of the day or that any of their housekeepers/ cleaners could have caused this damage. They said they watched 3 other people who were not on the booking enter the room and that was potentially how the damage was caused. Which we did have 3 other people enter the room for 2 hours but was untrue as no one was near the bathroom. I understand it’s very much 1 word against the other but it was their manner dealing with the situation that wasn’t appreciated.
They displayed threatening behaviour and said if we didn’t pay the €600 fee by the end of the day the situation would become a police matter and we “wouldn’t be allowed to leave the island”. As 3 younger girls travelling themselves this was highly distressing. We requested an invoice so we knew exactly what we were paying for. They never provided one. I asked for it to be emailed to myself or another member of the party. Staff promised an invoice from the hotel and the 3rd party that would be fixing the glass. We have still not received any form of invoice over a week after we left the premises.
We said we’d be happy to pay half then pay the remaining balance once we received an invoice to show exactly what we are paying for. They declined and said all €600 had to be paid in one go. The staff then said if we didn’t pay the fee by a certain time at night our keycards would stop working and we wouldn’t be allowed back into the premises- even thought all our belongings were still there. As we were left with no option and could risk being kicked out with no where to stay we payed the fee for a damage we didn’t cause.
I thought the hotel was lovely and the grounds were nice and we all agreed we would have happily returned but due to this experience we feel it has put us off. We hope no other guest is put in this intolerable position.
We stayed at Coral Ocean View in Tenerife for a week and, overall, had a very enjoyable holiday.
The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout, and the housekeeping team did a fantastic job every day. The rooms were spacious, modern, and offered great views of both the sea and the pool areas. The air conditioning was excellent, the showers were powerful, and we slept well for most of our stay.
As with many all-inclusive hotels, the food was fairly average, but there was plenty of choice available and the evening menu changed regularly, which helped keep things interesting. The self-service bar for all-inclusive guests was a nice touch, and there was a good selection of drinks with generous measures.
The pool area was peaceful and relaxing, making it ideal for an adults-only hotel. One thing worth noting is that the pool reaches a depth of 2.75 metres at one end, which may catch some guests by surprise.
The staff were friendly and welcoming for around 95% of our holiday. Unfortunately, our experience changed on departure day. Our transfer wasn't scheduled until 6:30pm, but our all-inclusive wristbands were removed at check-out, leaving us without any of the benefits for the remainder of the day. This was frustrating, as we effectively only received six full days of all-inclusive despite staying for seven nights.
After our wristbands were removed, we received strange looks when getting water from the bar and were questioned about why we were in the restaurant, despite having been served there all week. We were also told by reception that we could no longer use the hotel facilities, which felt unnecessarily abrupt and left a disappointing final impression after an otherwise pleasant stay.
One other point to be aware of: if your room is at the rear of the hotel, you may hear buses reversing throughout the night, as the beeping can be heard 24 hours a day. Thankfully, this didn't affect us too much.
This is definitely not a party hotel. If you're looking for a relaxing adults-only hotel in a good location, with clean modern rooms and a peaceful atmosphere, I would happily recommend Coral Ocean View.
My husband and I have just returned from a week stay. We thought the hotel was modern and very clean. The rooms were cleaned daily. There was plenty of seating and sun loungers available. The staff were friendly and helpful and arranged for a bottle of champagne and cake to be delievered to our room on my husbands birthday. We stayed all inclusive and enjoyed the variety of food. If we ever come back to Tenerife again, we would definately return :-)
Myself and my daughter have just returned from a lovely week at Coral Ocean View. From first arriving the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a junior suite on the 9th floor with a lovely balcony and sea view. The suite had a kitchen area, bathroom with a fantastic shower and the room was cleaned every day. The hotel itself is absolutely spotless. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of sunbeds and no sunbed wars! You aren’t allowed to put towels down before 9am which means you aren’t having to get up at stupid o’clock. We were all inclusive and I have to say the food was outstanding! My daughter is gluten free and everything was labeled for allergies and there was a small gluten free section but the amount of choice of foods for breakfast lunch and dinner was impressive! A different theme every night for dinner is a great idea! (I had the best mussels I’ve ever had and the chocolate cake was to die for!) The bars have lots of choice and the all inclusive drinks were very good and we loved that the pool bar was self service so you can have as many soft drinks, beer, wine and sangria as you like. Location - everything you could possibly need is within a ten minute walk or the reception staff can book you a taxi which was about 6 euro to get into the town centre. Siam Waterpark is close by (we walked it in 15 minutes) and it was amazing, definitely worth a visit! The only small negative is that there is a bus station at the rear of the hotel and buses reversed (beeping loudly) literally all night long so make sure you take earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend staying at this hotel! Thank you Coral Ocean View for a fantastic stay!
My friend has recently posted a review regarding our stay, and I was one of the girls in her party. I would like to add to her comments regarding the way this situation was handled.
Whilst I appreciate that hotels have procedures for dealing with alleged damage, I do not believe this situation was handled professionally. We were told we had to pay €600 for a cracked shower screen that we maintain we did not cause. We were informed that if we did not pay, the police would be contacted, there was a chance we may not be able to leave the island, and our room key cards would be deactivated. As young women travelling together, we felt we had no realistic option but to pay.
What concerns me most is what happened afterwards. Before making the payment, we repeatedly asked for an invoice showing exactly what we were paying for. Reception assured us this would not be a problem, and my friend has proof that we were promised an invoice from both the hotel and the supplier.
Since returning home, I have done nothing more than request the invoice we were promised. I emailed explaining the situation, provided my booking details when requested, followed up when I hadn't received a response, and then simply asked for the promised invoice. Instead of receiving it, I was told by the manager to not send anymore emails. I found this completely unprofessional, especially as I was only asking for something the hotel had already agreed to provide.
This completely contradicts what we were promised before making the payment. Weeks later, we still have no invoice, only a card receipt, which leaves us with no proper breakdown of what we have paid for and makes it difficult to deal with our travel insurance.
The hotel has stated that it believes this matter was handled professionally. If this is considered professional customer service, I believe that should concern future guests. It is a shame because we enjoyed our stay, but the threatening approach, followed by the failure to provide the promised documentation and the lack of communication afterwards, has completely changed my opinion of the hotel.
