The Hotel Chatur Playa Real Resort is located in the most exclusive tourist place in the south of Tenerife, in Costa Adeje. Very close to Playa del Duque and Fañabe beach and Siam Park. It is a hotel aimed at families and couples. Chatur Playa Real Resort offers an all-inclusive service and has 178 comfortable and spacious rooms with a separate bedroom, distributed in two buildings. The 117 junior suites are located in the main building and the 61 family rooms equipped with kitchenette are in the annex. All services and common areas are shared together to avoid limitations in the use of the facilities. There is a new pool area in the family room area with two splash pools for the children. And there are 2 more pools in the main area of the building with a small children's pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great stay — not sure where the bad reviews come from!
We’re currently staying here at the end of July and, honestly, we’ve had a great stay. I’m not sure where some of the bad reviews come from!
The hotel seems fairly quiet compared with some others, and we’ve always managed to find sunbeds available. The kids’ pools are great, and there’s a little bar nearby with self-service beer and soft drinks. If you want alcoholic drinks other than beer, you’ll need to head over to the main pool.
🛏️ Rooms
The rooms in the main building are really nice and clean.
We were initially allocated a family room in the annexe, but there was no air conditioning, so we spoke to the Jet2 rep the following morning and they managed to move us into the main building.
The annexe rooms could actually be great for families as they’re very close to the kids’ pools and have a kitchen area, but the lack of air conditioning would be a big issue for us.
Our room in the main building is excellent. The balconies are private and overlook the main pool. There’s a separate bedroom which can be closed off or left open to make the room more open-plan.
The air conditioning is also fantastic — perhaps too good! We actually have to turn it down at night because it gets freezing! 😂
🍽️ Food
As with any all-inclusive hotel, the food can get a little repetitive, but there’s always plenty of choice and it’s constantly being replenished.
At dinner time, there’s a snack bar by the pool which is constantly attended, so the food is always fresh. Alternatively, you can eat in the main restaurant.
The evening meals are decent. There’s an attempt at a different theme each night, although I’m not sure the themes always come across particularly well.
👌 Staff
The staff have been really polite, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. They’re approachable and always happy to help.
The only exception for us was the owner of the on-site shop, who can come across as a little rude and off-putting.
🎤 Entertainment
The kids’ disco lasts around 30 minutes, which is probably a good thing because it’s indoors and there doesn’t appear to be any air conditioning. It can feel like sitting in a sauna! 😂
Unfortunately, the following show is also indoors, and the heat can become pretty unbearable.
One thing that could definitely be improved is the communication around activities. There’s a board to the side of reception with the daily activities, but it’s very easy to miss. We spent a lot of time around the kids’ pool, so we didn’t realise what was happening at the main pool until we eventually noticed the board.
The kids’ club is okay, although I think there’s definitely room for improvement, particularly around the mini disco and children’s entertainment.
⭐ Overall
Overall, we’d definitely recommend this hotel. The location is good — it’s a bit of a walk to the beach, but certainly not impossible.
The building could do with a bit of TLC in places, and during our stay around 3 out of the 4 lifts have generally been working, but these are fairly minor issues.
Would I come back? Absolutely.
The main thing for us would be making sure we had a family room in the main building with air conditioning. I’d happily return to the annexe if the air conditioning was fixed, but I wouldn’t choose it while there’s no air con.
Overall, we’ve had a really enjoyable family holiday and I’m glad we didn’t let some of the negative reviews put us off. 👍
Currently staying at this resort...probably one of the worst places iv stayed Paid alot of money for the worst hotel Staff rudest people I have ever experienced especially restaurant staff Food....disgusting..stale bread for sandwiches, cold chips, cold hard pizza...we have had to eat out after paying for all inclusive Pool area. ..dirty, broken loungers, broken tiles in pool, limited umbrellas Shop...daylight robbery for essentials Spa. ..staff are rude and unhelpful Entertainment...kids disco that lasts 20 mins and Night time Entertainment..let's just say embarrassing Elevators...don't work most of the time so if you have a buggy, get used to lifting it upstairs Wifi...does not work All in all I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy Do not book here
Currently staying the hotel and only our 2nd day. Only writing this to people at rest. Hotel rooms very clean and spacious we are in a family room in the main hotel. Food basic but fresh and tasty. Drinks great loving the self service. Kids splash park in great. Life guards great. Please ignore all the bad negative reviews if you expect a 3 to 4 star hotel and not 5 you will be pleased. Also aircon is great
I was very worried about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews so I'm going to break it down for you.
We are having a really lovely time at this hotel and you pay for what you get. Is there fault with this hotel? Yes.
***Staff *** The 2 women staff members on reception are so so nice, very helpful and very friendly we had no issues with them at all. They were very helpful and very approachable and we couldnt fault them. 10/10 Cleaners were lovely and very hard working. There is one staff member who works at the pool bar who doesnt smile or isnt vwry friendly but I wouldnt be working long hours and dealing with drunk people in the heat. He wasnt rude but wasnt friendly.
Rooms We booked to stay in the annex rooms and was very shocked with the state of the rooms. There was no aircon and apparently is hasnt been working in months, the room was dated and dirty, the curtains were so so dirty & in my opinion the annex has so so much potential. Its such a shame they are run down. We did complain straight away to reception and they sorted is out for us, they moved us rooms the day after. I blame jet2 for the faulse advertisment although rooms should be made clean and if booking please note that the aircon isnt working but they staff did provide fans. The day after we moved rooms to the main building and it was so much better and very clean. Aircon was fab and we had a sea & pool view. Location for the annex rooms is amazing tucked away at the back of the hotel with a self serve drinks option available up untill 6pm. There is a lifeguard on duty and he is brilliant everytime I looked at him he has eyes on the pool. The pool is only shallow and and the annex room is right on the door step. The pool has slides and is idea for families with small children. Adults can chill around the pool and the kids are safe. We never had and issues with sun beds and overall lovely pool area. We would have stayed in the annex rooms if there was aircon for my sons, who has health conditions & breathing issues. If he didnt have these health conditions I would have stayed in the annex and just made them re clean the room.
Large pool area/ snack bar
Pool area is huge, clean and tidy with a hot tub in the middle thats drained and re filled everyday. Lifeguard is on the ball and even does walk around. Pool isnt to deep but is deep for you kids. Snack bar is around the big area is ok. Chips, pizza, fried squid, burgers & hotdogs. Also another drinks bar is outside served by a staff.
location Location is great although up a slight hill but if you have any mobility issues you can rent a mobility scooter or grab a taxt back up for around 5 euros.
Food Food was good but repetative after a week. This is no reflection on the hotel this is all inclusive in general. They did howere serve up foods like steak, prawns, chips, ribs, chicken nuggets, cheese pasta. We go home tomorrow and not once have we had a bad tummy. Food area was clean food was tasty and honeslty you pay for what you get. The desert area was small but great with a selection of fruit and cakes and ice cream. Overall I was worried reguarding the food its been fab. If you are looking for a 5* rating in the food then remember you arnt paying 5* food prices. Also wifi in the rooms not the best but still ok.
Overall. We will 100% be returning to this hotel. Staff have been friendly and accomidating. Hotel is great for families. Great location, great food, clean rooms in main building. Just a overall great place to stay. Hotel is not overall over busy and I think this is from prev reviews but if you are thinking about staying in this hotel and you are a family on a budget then u will have a great time. We will be returning to this hotel next year and are very happy with the price we paid for this hotel for 10 night. Dont want to go home tomorrow.
Entertainment was ok the 2 times we did go but one of my sons has ASD and didnt like how loud the music was, so we didnt really go the entertainment much. Although is could be slightly lower it was so so loud.
The annex has huge huge huge potentional and management should take this on bored. The rooms need a upgrated with working aircon, re painted and new furnitor and you would make a fortune with thr location and the splash pool for the kids.
Will be returning. Any questions feel free to ask. Hope this helps others.

We stayed as a family of four (2 adults and 2 six-year-olds) and had a really enjoyable holiday.
Rooms: We originally booked a one-bedroom apartment in the annexe through Jet2, but on arrival were moved to a suite because the annexe air conditioning wasn't working properly. The suite wasn't the ideal layout for us as it didn't have the kitchen area we'd expected and there was only a glass door separating the living room from the beds. We did look at the annexe room, but after 10 minutes it was just too hot, so we were glad we stayed in the suite. The room was clean and serviced every day.
Pools: We really liked the pool areas. There are two children's pools, which were perfect for our kids, as well as the main pool. We never had any trouble finding sunbeds or getting drinks, with self-service beer and soft drinks near the kids' pool and a bar by the main pool.
Entertainment: Ernesto was the star of the show! He was brilliant with the children and made a real effort to get everyone involved. The mini disco every evening was a highlight for our kids, and the entertainment afterwards (bingo, singers, magician, etc.) was varied and enjoyable. The kids' club was also a big hit.
Food: The food was perfectly fine overall. Like most all-inclusive buffets, it became a bit repetitive after a few days. The only real disappointment was the pizza, both at the buffet and in the Italian restaurant. My husband's pasta from the Italian restaurant was much better.
We got a fantastic deal with Jet2 and, after reading some of the reviews before travelling, were expecting much worse. We ended up having a great holiday and would definitely return if we found another good deal.
Overall: A great value family hotel with fantastic pools, excellent entertainment and plenty to keep young children happy.
