Callao Salvaje

Salty sea breeze and lots of sunlight, this hotel is the front row seat to the Atlantic Ocean because of its privileged position right on the seashore. Tenerife South Airport is located just 22 kilometres. The light, friendly atmosphere and kind staff will make guests feel right at home. The hotel is completely remodelled and redecorated offering a high level of comfort. Hotel has a saltwater pool, a full-range fitness room, tennis court and a dinner restaurant. Quiet family area

Quiet area although there are quite a few restaurants & bars nearby and a couple of supermarkets. Family friendly with the pool staff putting floaties out everyday. Pool bar good as well. Hotel very much set up for All Inclusive, B&B, halfboard, woefully inadequate for self catering with only a fridge freezer, hob, kettle, coffee maker and toaster in the room. No microwave, oven, air fryer.... Had a 1 bed apartment and a studio room. Rooms were very clean and the staff were lovely

You Get What You Pay For

Not long since been back from a week at the hotel. Start off with the positives. Firstly, I agree with other positive reviews reference the staff. They were wonderful, friendly, approachable and a true credit to the hotel. Secondly, view is stunning with a sunset on the balcony if you opt for the sea view.

Unfortunately, there aren't many positives beyond that. There is no aircon in the rooms or certainly not ours anyway. There isn't any aircon anywhere in the hotel, so literally no respite from the heat. No place to retreat to cool off. A fan in your room is the best you will get. We asked for another fan and the staff did oblige but they do literally nothing other than move the same sweaty air about. The room was so hot you get out of a cold shower and you'd be sweating again. The pool is a saltwater pool as advertised, but I didn't realise how much of an irritation that would be. I was fully aware of the pool being saltwater at the time of booking so this issue is squarely on me. Just thought it be worth mentioning. The sun lounger mafia come out early so have your towels ready. If you can't beat em join em so grab your towels and wait for that barrier to be moved at 9am. Nowhere near enough loungers per resident. An improvement would be for hotel staff to remove the towels of people who just secure their lounger for the day then don't come back while 5pm. Seen it a few times. As a self catering holiday maker I cannot comment on the food of the hotel as we didn't eat there but the self catering facilities do need updating. There's no cooker or microwave. An airfryer wouldn't go amiss at this day and age either. In the nearby area there's a few good restaurants and a couple of pubs so never spoilt for choice when eating out. All in all it was ok. It didn't break the bank so no real loss. We personally wouldn't stay again unless some modernisation done to the rooms.

Lovely stay

Just finished 5 nights all inclusive here, staff where lovely and helpful, the room was really big and clean. We had a fan in there when we arrived which was really strong and helped us to stay cool through the night, breakfast and dinner where nice, lunch wasn't that good to be honest but luckily the snack bar was good. Drinks where good and strong. We had an ocean view room which had a stunning view. If you don't mind not being near the pool/bar then I'd definitely recommend going to the rooftop terrace, we had it pretty much to ourselves the whole holiday it was so peaceful and really hot up there! There's easy access to the bar via the lift or stairs. Short walk to the beach. On our last day we managed to book a courtesy room so we could have a quick shower and get changed. Only downside is that activities where advertised as every day but we only saw stuff going on on Monday and Friday of our stay. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing stay for Summer

Oh my goodness, please ignore the reviews, we are here now. The all inclusive is amazing. We always go all inclusive and this is one of the best, so delicious. Went to stretch and mindfulness with Serena this morning and the view of the sea and the beautiful views, alongside her friendly attitude, it was perfection. I was so worried after the 1 star review I had seen before we came I felt I needed to review while we were still here so anyone on their way wasn't worried. Please look forward to your trip. Staff are amazing, rooms are amazing, the pool is SO salty but that is what goggles are for! Please don't change hotel like I thought about, come and have the best time! We are in a Seaview apartment and it is just the best!

Overall good hotel with great views of the sea

Firstly, the hotel is very clean and has lovely views. The rooms are a good size. We stayed in a studio with two single beds pushed together, a sofa bed, a small kitchenette, and a good-sized bathroom.

A couple of things worth noting: the swimming pool is saltwater rather than chlorine-treated, and transfer coaches can't drop you directly outside the hotel because there's no room to turn around. Instead, you're dropped off around 100 metres away.

As with most hotels, there's a rush for sunbeds. By 9am, only the odd one or two are usually left, although there are plenty of chairs around the pool that remained available throughout the day.

Breakfast and lunch were both good. My biggest disappointment was the evening meal. The restaurant isn't very large, so the food selection is quite limited. On most evenings, I struggled to find something I wanted to eat.

The all-inclusive drinks are decent. Amstel is available on tap, while the local spirits and cocktails are okay, the cocktails are made by a machine.

There's a rocky volcanic beach around a five-minute walk from the hotel, along with a selection of nearby shops, bars, and restaurants.

Overall, we had a good experience. I'd say it's a solid hotel, but it sits towards the lower end of what I'd consider a four-star rating.
