Super hotel. Rooms slightly outdated however very clean. Staff lovely. Fridge can be hired €6 per day. Kettle/iron on request. Breakfast across road, just felt 9.30am finish a bit early. Will return.
Very dissapointed for the price. Completely outdated compared 2 website pics.. Not a pleasant welcome though the bar man was friendly but 18 euro for 2 drinks ! No air con no kettle no fridge no room service spent a fortune at vending machine for cold drinks . The rooms were grubby esp the bathroom no ventilation opened a cupoard and there were live cables. Breakfast was across the road but only till 9 30 far 2 early. Only plus was the location .
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The biggest issue was the noise. The walls seem extremely thin, and I could hear every conversation from the neighboring rooms as well as footsteps and noise from the room above. It was very difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. The reception service was also poor. The staff were not very helpful or welcoming when assistance was needed but one young girl at reception evening shift she was ok. The swimming pool facilities were disappointing as well. There were no towels available at the pool, which is something I would expect from a hotel. In addition, the pool closes at 6:00 PM, making it difficult to enjoy after a day of sightseeing or activities. Overall, the lack of soundproofing, poor customer service, and limited pool facilities made this stay far below my expectations. I would not choose to stay here again. As a hotel manager myself, I understand very well how hotel operations work and what challenges staff can face. However, the issues I experienced during this stay are fundamental aspects of guest satisfaction and should be addressed. I would not choose to stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.
Not sure where the 1 stars have come from. We stay in Santa Ponsa quite a lot & got a cheap weekend away. The reviews started coming in at 1 star and I tried to change but had no cancellation, so we went with it.
We are a couple in our late 20s and love a holiday. My honest opinion is:
Reception staff were nothing but friendly and lovely. They set expectations and did what they could (taxis booked etc).
The room was dated but genuinely really clean. Towels and bed changed daily and a decent size.
Would say that it is very dated, the AC does work and is above your bed, it isn’t a room where you walk in and “feel” the AC but at bank holiday August, I was a little chilly in bed so that’s good enough for me.
The bathrooms a little tired and a rubbish shower. Unfortunately there are safes in the room but the reception said that there is a new owner, if it works you can use it for free. It worked but then on the second day it glitched and the batteries died, the reception said they had no one to sort it.
The pool was absolutely dead. I was dreading the sunbed wars (there’s only 17 beds and most are shaded) but it was so so quiet. One day there was a group of around 10 at the sunbeds, but that’s all we basically saw. The pool wasn’t in use, although we never saw a lifeguard (or saw it cleaned) it was totally fine. Unfortunately shaded from 4pm.
Great area, cheap and cheerful the worse thing we found was the breakfast: we went down once and the staff were so rude, there were 0 fruit juice and we ended up walking out and eating at jaggy thistle every morning, the breakfast restaurant is owned by the new owners of the hotel and it’s the biggest afterthought I’ve ever seen.
All in all, if there had been loads of groups; the hotel would have been a nightmare. If people had wanted sunbed, it would have been carnage. But thankfully for us, a cheap quiet stay & would come back (as long as cheap). Wouldn’t recommend for longer than a few days.
Just come back and you get what you pay for but we weren’t disappointed. Great location , friendly staff yes the rooms are tired but all worked well AC was perfect not too cold , powerful shower , kettle and fridge on request and clean which is the most important thing to us . Everyday had clean room and towels etc .., only thing was breakfast only served till 9.30 and we only used once as arrived at 9.15 and all gone !!! we would definitely return for a stay and book room only.
