The hotel is 10 min away from the airport- that was the main reason we choose but in the booking.com. Also we wanted it to be close to the sea front, with the gym, with the pool etc. . The hotel ticked all the boxes and beyond our expectations: three pools (two outdoors, and one indoor). We had been offered a breakfast and dinner (half board) for the ridiculous price. The breakfast is amazing: great variety of meets, cheeses, eggs, salads etc… and I was amazed to see a raw honey in the original bee wax!!! The dinner was amazing too!!! The room was clean and cool - thanks to the air con! Nice view from the balcony. The pool was great too. Sauna was nice! The gym was ok, but was equipped just with the basic stuff. We read all the reviews and were well prepared for the noise from outside. We had also requested quieter room. Besides, I had the earplugs and slept well in their comfortable bed. Some little tips: Earplugs- the must!!! the bus (route 25) to the Palm city centre is a walking distance from hotel - 2 mins away. Cost £2 cash only one way. Takes about 25 mins. Better than expensive overpriced uber. The price for a taxi to the airport somehow changes depending on the time of the day. Also there is a bus A2 which goes directly to the airport, but only runs every 45 mins. Great location, a bit noisy, but not dangerous and fun! Yes it is area where the Germans like to spend their holiday which we pretty much enjoyed, because Germans like quality in everything, so that why the hotel was spotless. Staff are friendly!good vibes. Definitely will come back! We enjoyed these three nights!
We stayed 4 nights at this hotel! The hotel is in a prime location- it is right by the beach with a decent size pool. There is an adults only pool part of the private beach club- they say you have to pay for this but if you ask the reception for a day pass will allow you free access- the beach club is such a must in your stay here- brings the hotel from a 4 to a 5 star! was amazing the food was absolutely amazing too which was freshly made with great large selection.
A lot of people have mentioned how noisy this place is- our room 212 was quiet when the doors are shut due to being at the back! The location is dependent on what you’re looking for- there is a VERY large german community who holiday here with german bars- the nightlife is buzzing.
the sea is clear and beautiful with lifeguards on duty during the day
There is plenty of food options outside of the hotel and some wonderful places to enjoy tapas.
We recommend this place for a chill getaway but only if you can make the most of the xhaman private beach club which improves the stay immensely!!
The spa is a must in your visit too! quiet and a good way to end your day in the sun!
All staff are lovely and friendly and special shout out the chefs at dinner !! top class.
Dear Playa Golf Team,
We would like to sincerely thank you for a wonderful holiday, which was made truly special in large part thanks to your exceptional hotel, where we had the pleasure of staying.
You deserve more than 5 stars in every possible way – from the kindness and professionalism of your staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the beautiful design of the hotel, to the absolutely delicious food. Everything exceeded our expectations and left us genuinely impressed.
We wholeheartedly recommend your hotel to anyone considering a stay, and we are certain that this will not be our last visit. We will gladly recommend you to friends and family.
We would also like to extend special thanks to Cristina and Kessia at the reception, Joseph from the bar, as well as the wonderful chefs from the breakfast and dinner teams for their excellent food and dedication.
Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for everything!
Warm regards, Stefan and Tijana 🤍
Absolutely a crap hotel, very noisy and no sleep over night, open bathroom inside ov the room, no ventilatin, bad smell, poor air conditioner, poor tv channels, no tennis and just few WC football games broadcasting, big issues on reservation for beach umbrella,, not enough with extra cost. Non friendly staff and management, betrayed me with late arrival for one day cost. Not anymore to book for this hotel
I was really disappointed with our stay at Hotel Playa Golf. This holiday was meant to be a special treat for my mum after a particularly hard time but unfortunately it became far more stressful and disappointing than enjoyable due to the number of issues we experienced.
On our first day after arriving at 15:00 the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working and clearly hadn’t been all day. We were offered an alternative room, but it was of a much lower standard and this was not until 21:30 after a number of complaints so we declined due to the effort of moving everything on our own and the quality of the room. Someone came to repair the air conditioning the following day, but there was no communication with us about when this would happen, and even after the repair it was only working at around 30%, making the room very uncomfortable in 34° heat.
When we arrived, we were given virtually no information about the hotel. There was no explanation of the facilities, where anything was located, or any useful information that would normally be expected at check-in. No idea a beach club existed, tennis courts, any facilities at all besides a hot room and a basic pool with sunbeds you have to fight for.
The customer service at the pool bar was particularly poor. When I went to collect pool towels, I wasn’t aware that a cash deposit was required because nobody had informed us. Rather than explaining this politely, the staff member seemed irritated that I didn’t have cash, threw the towels towards me, and simply said to take them. It was an unnecessarily rude interaction. Additionally, we were told off by the same member of the pool bar staff for drinking a can of Coke that we had purchased from the shop while sitting by the pool. This was particularly frustrating given that, prior to this, we had already spent a lot of money on drinks from the pool bar during our stay. What made the situation even more upsetting was that we saw several other guests drinking drinks they had bought from the shop in the same area without being approached or told they couldn’t. This left us feeling singled out and unfairly treated, adding to our disappointment with the overall experience. I would like to add not all the pool staff were like this only one man in particular.
There were also several issues with the room itself. The fridge didn’t work, meaning we couldn’t keep anything cold, the milk we had bought from the shop went off after one night. The body wash dispenser in the shower appeared to have been filled with water instead of soap, so there was no usable body wash available.
The room also had no tea or coffee making facilities. When I requested a kettle, one was delivered promptly, but no mugs or cups were provided, making it impossible to use.
To make matters worse, there was no way to contact reception from the room by telephone. Every time we encountered a problem, we had to go all the way downstairs in person, which became extremely frustrating.
Overall, the hotel showed very little attention to detail, and the customer service throughout our stay was disappointing. While the location is good and some of the staff lovely, it doesn’t make up for the lack of care shown to guests by others. This was supposed to be a relaxing break for my mum, but instead we spent much of the holiday dealing with problems that should never have occurred in a hotel of this standard. Sadly, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again or recommend it based on our experience.
