Old and dated.
Front Desk called us at 1.30am. (Yes 1.30am) to tell us we were being collected at 8am. What is the point of a hotel - if they willingly call your room in the middle of the night??? We knew that ourpick up was 8am. Our sleep was completely ruined. We were on a layover with BA. And were unable to sleep. Why not call at 630am if they were worried that passengers didn't know??? The front desk even admitted that he "had not been here yesterday". Insensitive and ridiculous behaviour.
The buffet was alo very poor served in a windowless restaurant. And we couldn't sleep much before 11pm as there was a band playing loud music outside.
No rest at all.
TLDR version: the price and value for money doesn't match, the service we received was not 4 stars. We also got ghosted on a 12+ power outage compensation request.
We arrived late at night and immediately noticed the shower drain not working properly (had to stop several times during a quick shower to let the water drain so it doesn't overflow into the bathroom). We notified the staff early the next day. Maintenance came, but the issue wasn't fixed, plus they cleaned up the water with out bath towels and left them wet on the floor without any new ones. We requested new towels, but didn't receive them, only the next day.
On our 2nd night we came back to the hotel seeing that the power was out in the whole building (and only in this hotel building, every other building around had power). We spent 12+ hours without electricity, elevator (our room was on the 9th floor, so lot of climbing), running water or toilet. The power outage started WAY BEFORE a storm hit the area, so it was not due to weather. We noticed that some rooms regained power around 11pm, but not ours. Our room was near the elevators, so probably we were on the damaged circuit, and we really didn't have anything for 12+ hours.
The next day we were contacted by a GM who I guess was sent to the hotel to mitigate complaints. We were upset to hear that he was just surveying guests, and not offering concrete compensation, but trying to give out on-location favors. I think for a 4-star hotel it's outrageous that they are trying to pinch pennies in such an event, when the issue left many guests without facilities for basic human needs. We filed an official complaint, asking for a 1-night refund (which in my opinion is still a reasonable request), but never heard back - it's been 2 weeks since this incident, and we've been ghosted.
There was also one morning where we woke up to hammering inside the building between 6-7am. Otherwise we were happy with the room, but the bathroom also had mold spots on several places, and based on the smell I guess the minibar is due for a throrough clean too.
To be honest this has been one of the worst hotel experiences ever, and I would recommend everyone to find a different accommodation. We've left a fortune there for our stay, and we certainly came home disappointed. Thinking back it was also weird that the hotel asked for no upfront deposit before our stay, and made us pay the whole stay when we arrived and was doing the check-in.
Not worthy 4 stars, 3 stars would be better. Cleaning could be very better, especially around swimming pool
We were planning to have a great stay at the hotel for our annual summer holiday. After our arrival staff was rather nonchalant (we arrived late in the evening), and the next day a small storm resulted in the electricity going out basically in the whole building. We had no sufficient information on the repair status, communication was "our colleagues are working on it", it was more about 16 hours without any electricity (elevators, WC, shower, hot water, AC, anything really). Then they tried to suppress refund requests with local extra services, those who submitted a refund request are still waiting for their money. Many of the staff was rather passive (respect to the exception, you guys were great :) ) . The room we had for a significant amount of money had one of the bedside lamps half detached from the ceiling bolts, the shower was clogged for 5 days when they came to repair it, after we requested on day one, etc. etc. - cannot recommend. Multiple other hotels are available there, choose any one of them, not this.
Price versus quality is high, Hotel Lobby and room soap and shower gel can benefit from a change of scent used. Rooms need to be updated. No mini bar, no complimentary water per day. Elevator is an issue, all guests were annoyed by having to wait. Beach towels are provided 3/7 days per week, while at a beach destination. Some staff attitude can be improved, others have good attitude. Overall it felt like hotel for the poor, while hotel is not cheap.
