- Prinsotel La Dorada

Opened in 1997 and refurbished in 2008, the family-friendly Prinsotel La Dorada enjoys an excellent location in the heart of the Platja de Muro area, only 150 metres away from the fine sandy beach going on almost endlessly and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and just next to the beautiful S'Albufera Natural Reserve, which can be visited for free. Puerto de Alcúdia and Can Picafort are 5 and 6 km away, respectively, and can be easily reached by a regular bus connection. The aparthotel is constructed around a wonderful pool and garden landscape with 1,500 m2 of pool surface including children's pools. Younger guests will love the mini-club or the playground, while the parents get pampered and relax in the fantastic spa area. Sports facilities such as mini-golf, cycling or windsurfing are available. This hotel is perfect for a family holiday under the Mediterranean sun.
We stayed at La Dorada in August and could not fault it one bit! Our daughter is autistic and struggled throughout the week this was her first holiday abroad so it was very overwhelming. The manager Daniel went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and was so accommodating to meet our daughters needs. The hotel was beautiful, clean, with friendly and helpful staff, Thank you Daniel, the other managers and the rest of the hotel staff and a special mention to the young girl on the desk at breakfast she was always so happy and friendly! We hope to visit again sometime! Mr and Mrs Butcher
The hotel is located near the beautiful Playa de Muro beach and a short walk to all local amenities and transport to Alcudia old town. On arrival we were welcomed with a glass of Cava and soft drinks for the kids. Our room was lovely and the hotel facilities amazing. The several pools were great for all ages and the buffet was well above standard buffet food I have had In similar hotels. We were able to experience the other restaurants on site due to an upgrade we negotiated with Daniel the hotel manager. He made our stay truly memorable and all the staff were accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.
Very good overall, after spending a week. Food delicious! But childrens menu is quite limited. Some playing equipment, like billiard table and cues could be in a better condition. No problem with the rest ones. Appartments are close to the sea beach, 6 minutes walk and the sea & beach here is very nice. A lot of fun for children on a territory, especially on the batut in a pool. The rooms are conveniet and modern. Maybe I would wish a bit more park paths for walking on a territory. The entertainment part from animators gives a lot of joy and fun. The pools very good dimensions and depth even for very young children.
Amazing hotel, very nice staff, very kid friendly. The staff at the restaurant and Iker at Moana Bar are just exceptionally kind.
We arrived late after our flight was cancelled, but check-in was easy and our bags were taken straight to our room. The room itself was spacious and nice, although unfortunately there was a damp smell and ants on arrival. We reported this and the room was sprayed, but the ants returned on day three and day six. As the hotel was full, we couldn’t move rooms.
The hotel has a huge amount of choice at breakfast, although we felt the quality didn’t match the quantity. Get there at 8am though as soon as it opens as any later and it becomes absolute chaos!
The biggest issue for us was how busy it was, everywhere just felt crowded. Queues for drinks, ice creams and food were common, and the pool area was very loud with several hours of entertainment every day. Not really our thing, and not something we realised would be such a big part of the holiday. The pools also looked like they needed a good clean, with green mould around the edges.
Another disappointment was that the hotel forgot about our son’s birthday request, despite us arranging it weeks in advance. They apologised, but seeing balloons being organised for another child made it particularly frustrating.
We used the buses outside a few times to go to Alcudia, which was super convenient. The choice of restaurants there is much better!
Overall I wouldn’t go back as this type of holiday just didn’t suit us, but I imagine off season it would be a completely different experience. I don’t think the hotel can cope with it being full and I witnessed quite a few complaints at reception during our time.
