Saratoga

Nice view of the cathedral but rather obscured by the car park. The staff in the sky were great and the food was okay. The breakfast wasdreadful – all the coffee machines were broken and the woman in charge of the breakfast room could not care less. Then left us without shower gel one day. So – not bad but not worth the money.

Rated 4-star superior, the Saratoga Hotel exceeded all our expectations. In fact, I genuinely cannot fault any aspect of our stay. From the warm welcome to the excellent facilities and thoughtful touches, everything contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The staff deserve a special mention. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive and responsive, going out of their way to accommodate our requests and provide assistance whenever needed. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and this level of service really made our stay stand out.

The hotel enjoys a fantastic central location on a beautiful, tree-lined street, within easy walking distance of Palma's shopping precinct and some of the city's most impressive landmarks, including La Almudaina Royal Palace and the Palma Cathedral (La Seu). It is an ideal base for exploring the city.

Our party stayed in the Comfort rooms, which were large, spacious and very well appointed. The bathrooms were lovely, with rainfall showers that were an absolute treat, particularly with such excellent water pressure! The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and a pillow menu is available for those who prefer a particular type. Blackout curtains ensured a good night's sleep, while the spacious wardrobe, complete with lighting, was another welcome feature. Complimentary bottled water was also provided.

Although a kettle is standard in the room, a capsule coffee machine is not included with this room type. We requested one in advance, and it was already waiting in our room when we arrived — a lovely example of the hotel listening to its guests and anticipating their needs.

My only minor observation concerns the height of the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, which was a little awkward for me as I'm on the shorter side! This is, of course, a very personal point and certainly did nothing to detract from an otherwise excellent room.

Breakfast was another highlight. The buffet offered an impressive variety of options, including artisan breads, yoghurts, fresh fruit, nuts, dates, hot and cold dishes, pastries and juices, to name just a few. There was plenty of choice to suit different tastes, making it an excellent start to the day.

Throughout the hotel, there are numerous comfortable seating areas and desk stations, providing ideal spaces to enjoy some quiet time, catch up with friends or hold an informal meeting. These thoughtful communal spaces add to the hotel's appeal, whether travelling for leisure or business.

One of the highlights of our stay was L'Àtic Restaurant on the seventh floor. I would highly recommend dining here. The service was excellent, the food outstanding and the views across Palma simply wonderful. The steak was among the best I have ever had! It was a memorable dining experience and well worth making time for during your stay.

Overall, the Saratoga Hotel delivers on every level: excellent service, spacious and comfortable accommodation, a superb breakfast, a wonderful central location and outstanding dining options.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again. It is a credit to the team that a 4-star superior hotel delivers an experience that feels truly exceptional. If you are planning a visit to Palma, the Saratoga is an excellent choice.
