Not Enough Words🤩
We had eaten lunch here a few years ago and loved the location and the food and the staff. It was therefore a ‘no brainer’ to come back to stay. Well we were not disappointed!
We were delayed a day for arrival due to a fatality on the road in U.K. to the airport. We managed to rebook for the following day from Bristol as Exeter had no flights until 3 days later. We spoke to reception to let them know and were so impressed when we arrived to find the woman we had spoken to the day before was on reception and she immediately remembered our name. The bell boy who helped with our bags was excellent, insisting that he explain everything in the room to us. So after a traumatic start the day before we had a truly impressive welcome.
We chose a street view room which was really comfortable with a pod coffee machine with water provided. The TV has all main U.K. TV channels, the WIFI is very good. The only negative in our room was that we had two single beds put together but one was on wheels which drove my husband mad as he had to find things to wedge under the wheels to stop it moving.
We always travel with ear plugs so had no issue with street noise at night but accept we were early/ pre season.
The hotel is situated right on the beach with its own access. The bar/ terrace area is lovely with a fabulous view over the bay. The pool area is great too with plenty of loungers for when we were here in April.
For breakfast there is a wide choice from the buffet as well as a table service menu for freshly cooked breakfast.
The lounge/ bar area is really comfortable and most evenings a live pianist.
Every member of staff we met were delightful, charming, professional and always cheerful.
We have travelled extensively world wide and have been telling everyone we know that this is probably the most comfortable hotel we have stayed in. Despite the moving bed we still believe this merits top marks.
Some reviewers have been negative about the area but to us it is fine. Its like many Spanish coastal areas, it clearly focusses on tourists but there is a bus stop across the road to take you into town, but we were visiting friends do didn’t use it. Plentiful places to eat if you want a change from the hotel and small supermarket a few doors down.
Hotel booked us an early morning taxi to the airport and it was already waiting for us 5 minutes before the booked time. Again we were impressed.
Would definitely come back, can’t think of a reason not to.

A lovely place which had a good choice of bars and food
We had a brilliant time here. We stayed for three night and the hotel was beautiful. The location is itself wasn’t in a lively area which could be good for those who want a relaxing holiday. For those who want more entertainment it’s about 15 mins away from most good places and Ubers were cheap. We paid for breakfast which worked out cheaper to buy for all days and the choice of food was delicious. The pool is small but was perfect for us who just needed an occasional dip when the weather was too hot. Great sunlounfers and free beach towels to use. Good choice of bars and restaurants to visit too. Would go again

very nice hotel with excellent customer service
We regularly stay at Nixe Palace, and this time it was brilliant as always.
In this review I’d like to mention the help I received with a lost item.
I had a delayed parcel that arrived at the hotel after we had left. I thought it would be a nightmare to organise forwarding it to England, but it was surprisingly straightforward and easy using the system the hotel works with - Forgate by Asven. (I entered my address online, paid the postage and service fee, and UPS collected the parcel directly from the hotel).
Although there were some custom-related delays along the way, Forgate dealt with everything promptly and efficiently.
As a result the parcel arrived fairly quickly and without any issues. Excellent service throughout.
Disappointing visit.
We are astonished that this hotel has 5 stars. It is located in the middle of a run down town with very little to offer. There wasn’t too much of an atmosphere to the hotel. The staff seemed to show little interest in some of the issues that went on. The rooms were nothing special and seemed like a Premier Inn in size and very expensive. We didn’t believe they were value for money. On the whole, we felt the cleanliness was dealt with round the pool when people were out there. It would seem more sense to have it cleaned the night before. One morning there was vomit around the pool and cigarette butts all over the floor. The noise level was unbearable on a couple of days when a large group descended for a wedding. They crammed the very small pool and were drinking and smoking giving no consideration to others. Management were informed but the bar staff seemed to show little interest. The sun beds around the pool were extremely crammed in which was not acceptable in my view. Smoking was taking place all round the outside spaces of the hotel which I think should be flagged up. The access to the beach was not fully explained before our arrival and was 49 steps down and 49 back. All it mentioned was that access was an issue with no more explanation. The breakfast was very disappointing with warm milk and juices. Some of the staff seemed totally disinterested with the problems and some food was served cold.
Stunning hotel with stunning outlook
Lovely hotel on a stunning beach. Staff are lovely and very helpful and the food is high quality. Beds are very comfortable and i recommend a sea view room if you can. I am already looking to rebook for august.
