Great Location and Excellent Breakfast, But Room Quality Was Inconsistent

We stayed for 10 days and had a mixed experience at this hotel.

On arrival, we were allocated Room 700, which was supposedly an upgraded room. Unfortunately, it was extremely small and felt cramped, especially for a longer stay. After raising our concerns and waiting two nights, we were moved to Room 601, which was significantly larger and much more comfortable. Based on what we saw, we suspect the rooms ending in "00" (100, 200, 300 up to 700) may all be particularly small, so it's worth checking your room allocation before you arrive.

Another disappointment was that rooms do not come with a fridge or kettle as standard. A small fridge can be hired, but at €45 for 7 days this felt expensive, especially when staying longer. To make matters worse, our fridge wasn't delivered until two days into our stay, and staff attempted to remove it after only five days, despite us being there for 10 days. We bought our own kettle and coffee to avoid the inconvenience.

That said, there were plenty of positives. The buffet breakfast was good, with a wide variety of hot and cold options (although the hot food could have been hotter), and the brunch service available until 1:30pm each day was a great feature, particularly if you enjoy a more relaxed holiday schedule.

The pool bar staff deserve a special mention. They were consistently friendly, hardworking and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The hotel was also exceptionally clean. Our bedroom was cleaned to a high standard every day, and the cleanliness extended throughout the entire hotel, including the pool area and sun terrace, which were always well maintained.

We also never had any difficulty finding sunbeds around the pool, regardless of the time of day, which was refreshing compared with many other resorts.

The biggest advantage of this hotel is undoubtedly its location. It is centrally situated and within easy walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants, shops and the beach, making it an ideal base for exploring the area without needing transport.

Overall, while the room issues and lack of basic amenities were frustrating, the excellent location, plentiful sunbeds, friendly pool bar staff, high standards of cleanliness, and generous breakfast/brunch offering helped make our stay enjoyable. I'd recommend the hotel, but would advise prospective guests to request a larger room and be aware that extras such as fridges and kettles are not included, although the hairdryer provided was excellent.

I originally posted after receiving an email from tent Palmanova stating that payment had not been completed and warning that the reservation could be cancelled. This was concerning as the payment had already left my bank account on 17 August.

To update fairly, the hotel has now confirmed in writing that our payment has been received and the booking is secure.

Before posting, we attempted to resolve the issue directly. Our email had not received a response, the telephone number provided on the hotel's email connected us to another hotel, and when we eventually reached tent Palmanova, both I and my legal representative separately understood from our conversations with reception that the reservation was confirmed but the payment was showing as unpaid.

The hotel has since provided a different account of those conversations and suggested there may have been a language misunderstanding. We have therefore asked whether the calls are recorded and, if so, for them to be reviewed.

I am pleased the immediate booking issue is resolved. However, our complaint regarding the communication and handling of the situation remains outstanding and we have requested escalation to senior management within tent Hotels/FERGUS Group.

Spent 4 nights here and everything was great. The rooms and hotel were spotless clean. The staff were lovely and helpful. The unlimited brunch is a great idea and plenty of sunbeds around the pool.
