The stylish adults only hotel Innside By Meliá Cala Blanca enjoys a privileged location in the popular holiday resort of Palmanova in the Southwest of Mallorca, directly on the fine sandy beach and with magnificent views over the bay. A large variety of bars, pubs, restaurants and shops can be reached within a short stroll; the famous nightlife spot Magaluf with its plethora of entertainment venues is within walking distance. The hotel features a fantastic outdoor pool area surrounded by gardens and terraces with excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea as well as an indoor pool which is heated in winter. Culinary options include a buffet restaurant with regional and international cuisine, a pool bar and a lounge bar where guests can sip on a colourful cocktail and relax overlooking the sea in a quiet, elegant atmosphere. An ideal hotel to combine relaxation with beach and entertainment.

I tried it all. I’m disappointed
I’ve worked in many hotels over the years/ here’s my take.
Okay to start- there’s no official reception area. 4-5 staff hang around at the front door day and night to check you in. This is okay I guess but I was in and out of the hotel allot and it felt like I had no privacy to go about my business without staff watching my every move. It also means the front door gets blocked up at peak check in time.
Location- Good location, very central and beach front. It’s however located down a side street of mini markets and kebab shops. Some strange characters around past 12.
Food- We ordered one plate of Iberian ham, bread and olives. It was delicious. But not €65 delicious. We asked to move seats to start as a DJ was playing very very loud music close by. The waiter said to his colleague in Spanish that we were complaining. Not true, we asked very politely. He also walked off as we later asked him for the bill. When he returned we asked if he heard us ask for the bill and said that he did. Even though his back was turned, walking away and did not acknowledge us at the time. He did not know we spoke Spanish unlucky for him, seemed quite surprised when he questioned him in Spanish.
The Spa- the lady at the spa was very rude. I booked a slot, showed up, she said “hello, are you paying by cash or card” and placed the card machine in front of me, less than 20 seconds after my arrival. I understand you pay for the service beforehand, but it felt very transactional. No warm greeting, no smile, no questions answered. I paid my bill and silently followed her to my room. I didn’t exactly feel relaxed afterwards.
My room- the room is beautiful. It’s extremely clean, the beds are very comfortable and the layout is perfect. There was an issue to begin however. I booked onto a double bed as we are a couple. We arrived to two single beds and notified the staff within 5 minutes. We had to ask 3 times and eventually 4 hours later the bed was amended to a double bed. The housekeeper was lovely and I understand that it’s an extremely demanding job.
Breakfast- wide selection, nothing much to say it’s a standard continental breakfast with a range of foods to choose from. Arrive early for the best choice as it runs out fairly fast past 10am.
Hotel Area- beautifully designed, I was reccomended this place by a friend who meets work colleagues here for coffee occasionally. Little shop inside the lobby which sells jewellery and small bits. Spacious, lots of seating and open plan. Very clean.
Overall- the staff really let the place down. Whilst reception staff are good, an official check in desk is needed to stop overcrowding. I also felt like they were quite rude to my ‘constant’ (3) requests to amend the bed even though it took hours. We were tired, needed to sleep but had to stay awake to let the housekeeper in whenever she was going to show up. The music- turn it down a tad or have the DJ by the pool, not inside the restaurant. Spa- abismal, really rude woman just go to another spa for better service. Restaurant staff- think only Spanish can speak the language so feel comfortable talking badly about you. Walk off when asking for the bill, but later say they heard you just chose not to acknowledge it. When we’ve paid €65 for bread and ham, there should be exceptional service. Location- good, close to the beach and central. Room- very nice, quiet even though road side and 1st floor, very clean. Just the issue of giving us two single beds when a double was on the booking.
Zell hotel
Fried eggs are all hard and over cooked, no sunny side up, the rest of breakfast is good. Milk could do with being chilled a bit more, the hotel has music playing until 10:30 at night needs to tone down a couple of notches, same in gym, can’t hear my music from my earbuds, Boom boom boom boom
Aesthetically pleasing hotel but too much of a beach club!
I stayed for a week end of July into August, the hotel itself is very aesthetically pleasing, clean and spacious. The room was lovely and if requested always left at a high standard by the cleaners. I will note the cleaners come round very early, often before 9am to clean, this is a little inconvenient if you’re getting ready for your day, although no one rushes you, you do feel as though you should depart the room speedily. The pool area offered lots of bed available throughout the day on quieter days however on days where groups had booked out for the beach beds, the pool area was not atall relaxing and found said groups were prioritised more, often spilling into the supposedly guests sun beds. It is also a hotel where there are constant ‘photoshoots’ around the pool and throughout the hotel. I did not find this very relaxing and at times did not feel comfortable due to the possibility of being in the background. Smoking is also permitted in all areas and not a designated area around the pool, as a non smoker I don’t always agree with this due to the effects of passive smoking. The staff at Beso were friendly enough, although the prices for food and drink are more expensive than they are worth, for example; €9 for some crisp sprinkled with rock salt, and with a limited menu poolside. Breakfast however offered a variety of cooked, fruit, pastries and fresh juices, with the lady who greets you having a very clam, welcoming manner. Although I do not understand this concept of a floating reception, the staff were very friendly. I did find at check in, all be it that was 2am, the receptionist did not give basic information such as pool opening times, checkout, the mini bar rules or on other amenities the hotel has to offer, something at which I think is useful to guests to get the most out of their stay. On checkout day, as we had a late flight we asked about late checkout, this was offered for another 2 hours at an additional €100, which seems a lot for two hours on from a 12pm checkout. On checkout we were asssited by a different member of staff who offered the use of the courtesy room at a time suitable to us if available, this is for a 30 minute period, which I was very grateful for but why was this not offered or even mentioned when enquiring about late checkout earlier in the day? Overall my stay was some what pleasant, as said the hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing, staff friendly and very nice food but I feel as though I do not fit the ‘image’ required for this hotel and therefore felt uncomfortable at times during my stay.
Amazing staff
The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing - nothing is too much trouble and all of them are friendly and happy to help with your every need. We were here to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday - I contacted the experience team before we arrived to arrange decorating the room for my daughter and Manuel went above and beyond with organising balloons, flowers, champagne and even printed off photos I had sent him of my daughter to put around her room. They also helped with our lunchtime booking in BESO on her actual birthday and organised a birthday cake. The rooms are spacious and love that they cater for long items in the wardrobe as so many hotels don’t which is frustrating! The breakfast was fantastic every day and I would highly recommend it. I must also highlight another member of staff Letitia who was super friendly and always smiling and a great dancer! Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place for a relaxing drink at night with lovely views. Prices on par with other bars in the vicinity and excellent service from staff.
