This hotel is in Mallorca, perfect for families and couples looking for the perfect holiday in Palma Nova. Situated by the sea, this hotel is just a stone's throw from the beach. The airport can be reached in 30-minute drive. Most of the rooms at this hotel offer fantastic views over the bay of Palma Nova as well as offering a quiet family atmosphere, and a wide range of activities both for children and adults: the perfect match to spend unforgettable holidays with family. All modern rooms come equipped with A/C, TV, coffee facilities and a bathroom with hair dryer. In the hotel which is classed as the main building guests will find panoramic terrace overlooking Palmanova bay, miniclub, swimming pool and terraces with private access to the sea, garden, gymnasium.
Disappointing experience. The hotel is old and in need of renovation. There's a musty smell in the hallways. We had a 14-day stay without breakfast, and the cost for a coffee for two people staying there without breakfast is 30 euros with a discount. In the surrounding restaurants you can find a coffee for 5 euros. The hotel restaurant is very noisy during breakfast and dinner, the waiters don't wait for you to eat in peace; they're already clearing away dishes and making noise with utensils and plates. And children and people are talking very loudly. The breakfast option isn't particularly good, very basic and poor. I don't recommend this hotel for these reasons.
Left on a bad note with this hotel. We were checking out and the lift had broken and we therefore could not take our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. Staff refused to lift our last case up and we ended up in arguments one staff member Andre commented that it was not his job to do this and even suggested my 17 year old son did it!!! It was not our problem that the lift had broken so they should’ve put themselves out to help. My husband ended up lifting it all the way up from the second floor to reception. We were very unhappy. We were a family of 5, 3 adults and child of 16 and child of 7. We had two rooms checked into and on our first night we arrived late and the next morning we could smell damp this room was 294 do not stay in this room. We got moved the next day but we should never had been put in the room in the first place and we are most certain people were checked into this room after us!!! We were very happy with the location of this hotel just a shame the hotel wasn’t for us. The pool was quite small and at peak time it was very busy and we were reluctant to go in there incase we got a ball chucked at us. At one point in the pool my son jumped in the pool and we did check all clear but a girl appeared from under the water underneath where he jumped it was just too busy to do anything. The beach is a short walk with lovely restaurants. I would reccomend Zen Burger reastaurant they do a variety of food but mainly burgers. They have live music very often in the evening and the staff are very good and friendly. Good for breakfast is Calvià Beach House we went there a few times. Overall we will 100% return to Palma Nova but not to this hotel.
The hotel itself is good however it is the worst I have seen regarding holidaymakers reserving sunbeds with their towels. It was funny to watch the 9am scramble once the pool area opens at 9am. Come 9;03 all the sunbeds have towels on them and everyone then either goes back to bed or goes for breakfast. This hotel MUST fix this problem as it’s been going on since we last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago.
Enjoyed a 10 night stay at the Leonardo in early July. We stayed in the apartment suites which are set back and over the road from the main hotel.
We had 3 apartments, 2 for 2 couples and then our 2 teenagers stayed in the third. Decent size apartment for 2 people. Plenty of storage and all decent basics to prep small snacks/meals in the room.
The cleaning service was hit and miss, they attended every morning but one cleaner in particularly appeared to wait until you went back to your room and would then knock on door to clean (knowing you were in so you'd say no). We then put please clean room sign on door and it wouldn't be cleaned but she would then appear again as soon as we walked into room. If it happened you wouldn't think anything of it, but it genuinely happened about 6/7 times. We went 4 days without the room being cleaned at one point, to the extent when she knocked on the door as we'd just got in, I said no come in you can clean much to her shock (think it was a ruse to get away with not cleaning).
The apartment block had its own pool which was very pleasant and had a lifeguard on duty and a snack bar. It opened quite late for a holiday pool (10am). As we got to the end of our holiday it was starting to get busier. The main pool on the front of the hotel overlooking the bay you had no chance of getting a sun lounger after 9am (even though the pool not open). We preferred the quieter pool in any case.
We were B&B so attended the breakfast room on a morning. Pleasant standard breakfast buffet type food. We were very surprised a hotel with such gorgeous views over the bay had a breakfast room at the back with no windows with views - basically like a school canteen. Really strange. There is a stunning bar / eating area with great views and an outside terrace overlooking the bay - not sure why you'd not put the restaurant there.
The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The grounds and reception area were very clean and well maintained.
The hotel and apartments are in a great location, just a short walk to various bars, restaurants and the beach. It is up a short incline so maybe not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.
Generally a great base in a good location but I wouldn't say this was a 4* star more like a 3*.
We’ve been to Mallorca many times but have never left this satisfied and content. From the food, atmosphere and the gorgeous beaches (with Palmanova beach only a 3 minute walk away) to the cleanliness and service this resort provides.
The staff are incredibly welcoming and helped us have a wonderful time from the very beginning of our holiday to the end. An honorable mention to Santiago and Petra who have gone above and beyond, and are genuinely one of the kindest people we’ve met. It is clear they enjoy what they do and are very good at it too!
The entertainment team, while relatively small, managed to create an exciting atmosphere for both the children and adults with wonderful shows and games that vary each night, as well as daily water sports and experiences throughout the day. We particularly enjoyed the paddle boarding and kayaking we booked on the last day (which they kindly accommodated for us despite it being last minute and the high demand).
Palmanova beach is very clean and water is the clearest we’ve seen in Mallorca. There’s also loads of activities like jet ski, go-karting, water parks, scuba diving etc. which are very close by and you can book while you’re there.
If you’re looking for a luxury hotel on the beachfront with great service in Palmanova, you’re in excellent hands here.
We cannot thank you enough and can’t wait to visit again! Muchas gracias Team Leonardo Royal !
