I stayed at O7 Vistanova from 17th–21st July as a solo traveller. I arrived at around 1am after travelling all day and was allocated Room 211. I would strongly advise future guests to avoid this room.

There was a 37°C yellow weather warning in place, so finding the room thermostat set to 30°C was alarming. I immediately turned it down to the lowest setting (10°C), but after waiting it became clear the air conditioning wasn’t working. Instead of cooling the room, it was blowing out warm air. In such extreme temperatures, in an exceptionally small single room, this was completely unbearable.

The room itself was worn and basic. The single rooms are extremely small, and there is no fridge without paying €50 meaning guests have no way to keep water cold during extreme heat. Combined with the failed air conditioning, I genuinely felt unwell and considered it a health and safety issue.

At around 2am I called reception to report the faulty air conditioning and was told it would be looked at in the morning. Between the excessive heat, the extremely loud noise from the nearby strip and an incredibly hard bed, I didn’t sleep at all.

I went to reception during the night to explain that I wanted to check out in the morning and receive a refund for the unused nights, as the room had been advertised as having air conditioning. I was told to return at 7:30am to speak with management.

When I returned after 7:30am, there was a different receptionist who informed me that management weren’t there and that he couldn’t process any refund. After explaining everything again, I was offered a different room with working air conditioning, which left me wondering why I had been allocated a room without functioning air conditioning in the first place.

By then, my stay had already been ruined. My family were staying at the Illunion hotel nearby, and I wanted to leave and stay with them instead. However, I was told there was nothing the hotel could do because I had booked online. I had actually booked directly through the hotel’s own website, yet I was still told it wasn’t their responsibility. I wasn’t given any contact details and was simply told to “go online.” After finding an email address myself, I contacted the hotel on the Friday morning but never received a response.

Although the replacement room had working air conditioning, my experience had already been so poor that I had no desire to spend any time at the hotel. I spent each day with my family at the Illunion and only returned to O7 Vistanova late at night to sleep, making the stay feel like a complete waste of money.

To top it all off, on my final night I returned to my room to find that it had been serviced but no clean towels had been left. I called reception and was initially told I would need to come down and collect them myself because the hotel doesn’t provide room service. A few minutes later, the receptionist called back to say housekeeping would bring towels to my room. Unfortunately, they never arrived, leaving me without clean towels for my final night.

After reading other reviews, it appears that air conditioning problems are a recurring issue. If you’re visiting Magaluf simply for nightlife and need somewhere basic to sleep, this hotel may suit you. However, if you’re looking for a comfortable stay or are travelling solo, I would be cautious.

Based on my experience, I would not return, and I would strongly recommend avoiding Room 211.
