With six swimming pools and beautiful sandy beach only steps away, the hotel is a perfect resort for fun-filled vacations for the whole family.

Guests can enjoy sport activities like spinning, yoga and pool bike during the day and a variety of shows and live music in the evening.

The little ones will be entertained in three mini clubs with new “Katmandu Adventures” programme, funny games and quizzes (8 months – 12 years).

The New Waterland Pool Area, situated in the hotel gardens, features three pools, splash pad, waterfalls, slides and much fun for all ages.

Guests can savor varied buffets in the main restaurant and have a drink or snack in the pool and lounge bars.

The rooms are modern and comfortable. All of them equipped with balcony, free Wi-Fi, A/C, mini fridge, flat screen SAT TV and bathroom with shower or bathtub and hairdryer.

Worst hotel experience

Sol Barbados is undoubtedly the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my whole life. I deeply regret, with all my heart, for choosing this hotel for our family vacation. We stayed for 10 nights on a HB basis. I don't know where to start...

  1. Family of 2 adults and 2 children (17 and 12 years old), booked directly through the hotel's booking app back in January 2026, 2 hotel rooms. I requested rooms next to each other upon booking.

Upon arrival at the reception at 23:10 there were 2 receptionists, and they didn't bother with our request to have our rooms with our kids next to each other. They wanted to put us on different floors. The female blonde receptionist was rude, and she told me, "Why didn't you book a family room if you wanted to be placed together? Your request is not a confirmation that you will be placed next to each other." I started to argue with her that any other normal hotel would have understood what such request made 5 months ago while booking directly with the hotel means. At the end, after 40 minutes of waiting, they managed to find us 2 rooms next to each other.

2.Quality and variety of food, dining room, hygiene in the dining room – all unacceptable by normal standards. We were on HB, but ended up eating outside because the dining room was a mess, with low quality food and leftovers or mixed things with suspicious quality.

  1. The hotel was informed about our late arrival, but they did not leave us a bottle of water in our rooms. It was 23:40 after we checked in, and all nearby shops were closed.

  2. This hotel does not have any Spanish entertainment, Spanish night, etc. You wont feel any spanish vibes here.

  3. Housekeepers – they had to be chased every day to do basic, quick cleaning or to provide fresh towels.

  4. The hotel is not safely secured at night. One night, a group of young drunk tourists tried to open our door and enter at 3.30 am and 4am. We found a young drunk man without a hotel bracelet (so he was not from our hotel) sleeping in front of our room, and we called reception. Next day we received a bottle of wine from the hotel team as an apology. Thanks for that, although we didnt drink it.

  5. My booking is subject to a fraud investigation by the because the original email communication with the hotel was hijacked, and fake payment details were inserted into the same email thread. My computer and email were examined, and nothing suspicious was found. The hotel management and Meliá management were totally ignorant of my stress and financial loss and asked me to pay twice while the case is under investigation. My scanned passport was exposed in the same email thread with the Sol Barbados receptionist. Guest Relations Manager Borja is like a robot; he did not show any human understanding for our suffering, both financial and stress. Borja would have been happiest if we didnt arrive at all and just quit. But we didnt want to ruin the promissed holiday to our kids. Only one male receptionist, whose name I didn't ask for, compassionately wished me good luck when I filled out all the Hoja de Reclamaciones forms at the reception so I could report the case further investigation

  6. Queues everywhere. For the elevators, for dinner. Unless you feel fit enough to climb several flights of stairs (luckily, we were on the 4th floor and not on the 12th). I used the lifts only twice as they were always crouded. Queues for dinner from the restaurant entrance to the yard. So you can imagine how elegant is to dine inside :).

  7. All in all, we rented a car and tried to enjoy our holiday as much as we could, for the sake of our kids. I was happy when we left Sol Barbados.

And when I submitted claims at various Spanish aithorities, the administrative staff told me that they have received several other reports about Sol Barbados this year. I wish I had known this before I booked Sol Barbados and chose another hotel so I would have saved myself and my family from stress and financial loss.

Cold Food, no Fun Allowed!

Nice hotel until you try and enjoy yourself , No fun at at the pool, the fun police put a stop to that (life guards) . Animation team very good day and evening but as soon as they finished the fun police came out again. Food - breakfast - everything was cold unless you queued for 15 min for a bland omelet. Lunch and evening meal was OK unless you got caught in the 60 man queue. Once you get in the restaurant you could have chicken of all colors from pink to green . If you like salad they gave a lovely salad bar which serves salad with at least 12inch hair in it . The bar staff were very helpful although one would go to break at busy periods causing more queues.

Fab hotel - amazing locatio

So I was so anxious to go to this hotel after reading some awful reviws and wish I didnt read the reviews now tbh. The hotel was immaculate, rooms cleaned daily. Food was lovely and the hotel is in the most percect location. We upgraded to a larger room which was perfect. There was never a que for food, bar and no sunbed wars. Would deffinately return.

Amazing value for money

It is not five star hotel but i gave 5 star because of value for money. For money we paid service was more than great. First to say, everybody is so nice. Cleaning lady from first floor always asked do we need more towels or anything when we saw her on hallway even when we put sign we dont need cleaning. Very nice lady. And cleaness of hotel was great. Staff in mini club also great and kind to kids. People who work in buffet also very polite. Food was better than we expected. Usually buffets are not tasty but here were so good that i didnt go to restaurant after. Nice and tasty seafood. They make fish in front of you. There are pool on 0 floor and water park with slides on -2 floor. Elevator situation is bad but our room was on 1st floor so we walked. Me and my family really had great time here.

Not a 4 star hotel

This is a very honest review of the sol Barbados hotel in Magaluf. Hopefully this will help people before they pay for an already expensive holiday and helps them make a good choice . On Arrival the grounds up to the main door are well kept and a pleasant place to walk . Check in was easy and the staff very friendly. We were offered an upgrade to a room with a large solarium for 81 euros which we accepted pictures will be included. In our opinion this was a waste of money . Going to the room lifts are small and busy. luckily for us our room was floor 1 and we didn't need to use the lifts . The room . On inspection the room is dated and had lots of cosmetic damage and marks . Bathroom shower pressure is very very bad and the bath was slippery with no slip Matt provided. No plug for the basin and it's hard to get a shave . The room panels were not fitted correctly and made a massive bang when the door was opened and closed . Damage to fake marble around the basin also . Towels and loo rolls are very cheap and nasty for a 4 star hotel . Also no extraction fan and mirror just smokes up.The beds are firm but comfortable all tho my child complained the sofa bed was very uncomfortable like sleeping on plywood . Small coffee machine provided with no instructions on how to use it . And a tiny bottle of water not even put into the fridge . The solarium was bad . Large step from room the decking and no privacy at all while out there . Sunbeds were disgusting with bird poo and dirt and I can't understand why the normal balcony is not smoking but the solarium people could smoke and just flick cigarette ends onto the floor as non smokers we would not have upgraded if we had known this . The only pro I could give the room is the free safe and the great air con . We had two issues with the safe jamming and the air con was leaking water and credit to the staff on both occasions a member of the maintenance team was at our room within 10 minutes and both issues sorted so big thanks to the staff on reception and maintenance for their efforts . Pools the water land life guards are extremely unfriendly and they seem to follow one rule for one and another rule for another . So much so it was not a fun environment for anyone . Told you're not allowed to help a child when they hit the water at the bottom of a slide or even pop your head under one of the water falls . The top pool was more relaxed and chilled . Both pool areas are spotlessly clean which was a big positive the lifeguards attitude definitely lets water land down . The all inclusive is bad .need to swap a token for a cup and stand in massive cues with one bar person on to get a Fanta found the staff unfriendly and clearly hated serving guests .the snack bar for the pool has all the poor food no one had for breakfast just fired out any old way . The all inclusive is a financial winner for the hotel and people cannot be bothered with the Q's and hassle of the token system . The biggest let down by the hotel was the Spain Portugal game at the world cup loads of families in the sports bar watching it and the hotel had the bar shut .people had to climb two flights of stairs to stand in a Q at the in and out bar to walk all the way back down . The worst was the restaurant food is so bad and raw meats being put out for guests there will be a picture of raw chicken posted . I honestly can't explain how bad the restaurant's food hygiene failed on so many levels and the staff didn't care or do anything about any guests'complaints . Over all this is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. It's a pity as reception staff and the staff around the top pool playing games during the day are amazing and they deserve credit but unfortunately it lets itself down with the rest . We will be back in Mallorca but not at this hotel
