This is a really nice family hotel It’s really clean well kept and everything is fresh every day towels bedding!

The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating Reuben very helpful and welcoming & Dago (manager) very approachable and friendly person will help you as best he can with any situation.

The pools are immaculate. No food is allowed around the pool area. Plenty of life guards watch that water like hawks. Slides are fantastic The baby pool and shallow pool great.

Service is fantastic fast and easy with drinks. Service with a smile. Sandra (sports bar) your smile makes a difference. Carols your smile did too.

The restaurant immaculate Lots of choice of food Something for everyone Lots to choice from They have different varieties but a lot of it is fish But they also have theme nights (taco) spring rolls dumplings The staff work extremely hard and i really do hope they are appreciated great team work to keep a smooth sailing service and gleaming restaurant. Lots of breads and cold meats fish an cold sandwich choices cheeses hams Pizza,chips, lasagne, rice curry Literally a bit of everything Lots of fruit

The only problem I heard someone having a go over was the lifts an the wait mothers an prams should get priority over anyone who is able to walk I personally think this should be stated on a sign as I seen so many mums an dads carrying prams down the stairs.

The night show is 8:45pm It’s kinda late with little ones but good if your children are warriors and can stay up after a great day at the pools

This hotel is great it’s a 5 minute walk to the beach lots of bars and restaurant available if you wanted to take a stroll bring comfortable footwear the path is very steep.

Please do not allow any negative reviews put you off You get good and bad every where but I would recommend this to family and friends. My standards are high I expect the best when paying. This is up there with my standards of cleanliness and expectations

Children club absolutely amazing the staff wonderful Dani,Ana , Monica you are absolutely fantastic and should be so proud of the role and difference you make in a children’s day.

Please book you will have. Fantastic time and wish you had booked a little bit longer than a week. This is what I call a family hotel

Honest review of Sol Barbados On arrival on the first night we couldn’t get into the hotel in the transfer as they wouldn’t open the barrier as a result we had to walk from the road up with all the luggage luckily the driver helped and he had a word with staff when we got to reception. There was 3 staff on so no idea why we couldn’t get in just the press of a button.

Once at reception and checking in the guy handed over the wrist bands and gave us our card which assumed was for the door . I asked if he could but the wrist bands on as I wasn’t sure which he did most places usually do put them on for you . When he said what the room number was it was on the 12 floor which I did say sorry that’s far to high for us with my son who is a climber and has ASD I had requested a lower down floor with hotel and also travel company . He said nothing I can do tonight which I said ok will sleep there tonight but will come back in the morning as this was around 11 pm . I asked if there was any help with the bags to the room as we had a buggy and 3 big bags and lifts are narrow and small . He shrugged and said I’m on my own so that was that a struggle to get up to the 12 floor with all bags and 2 kids and a buggy had to take the lift separately . Once we got up to the room we couldn’t get in . The key card didn’t work so husband went back down to be told the wait bands are the key which was not explained at check in. Once in the room there was no water even in the room was also no offer of any food or drink on arrival luckily we had ate at the airport and I had took snacks so I would recommend buying bottles of water or something on the plane or at the airport .

The rooms are ok but there was not enough pillows or blankets for the 4 of us in the initial room . The next morning I went to reception to ask to be moved and showed that my son was disabled and we had requested . The lady was helpful and and moved us rooms however we had to wait till lunch time which did waste half of the first day as we had to hang around waiting for the room . The room was small but was ok for what we needed . The sofa bed I would say was more comfortable than the actual beds . The beds are hard and could feel the springs through the mattress my hips are really sore and by night 4 I was struggling to lay on my sides as it was painful. We did use duvets as mattress toppers which padded ir out a little . The rooms are cleaned daily well I say daily they make your bed and change the towels , mop the floor and empty the bins I wouldn’t say they do much else bbt the staff are up bright and early.

I did find it strange that you have to pay for towels for the pool it was 10 euro each towel which you get back on return . What I found strange was that if you wanted a clean towel this was at a charge I’ve never been to a hotel where this is the case normally you can pop your towels back that day and be given a to Ken to get clean ones the next . So if you wanted a clean towel every day then you would be 28 euro plus 40 that you would get back .

The cup situation also found odd on arrival you will be given a token for cups one each . You can’t get a drink without the token if you loose the tocken then you have to pay a euro for another . Again you have paid for an all inclusive so if you want 6 drinks but only have 4 tockens you’re actually having to pay for more cups to have the extra 2 drinks .
I believe this is due to recycling they don’t have staff who go around collecting cups etc like other hotels I’ve been too . Also not allowed any food around the pool which I find odd as this is usually the point of pool bars or snack bars .

The food is editable it’s not great we chose to eat out mostly the breakfast is ok the lunch and dinner like say not great you will find something but we ate 2 days in a row for dinner and both felt ill sore stomache also seen reviews that said there was sickness and lot of people thinking it was the food so we did eat out a lot . The pool bar snacks not great either again we tried to avoid the kids did eat the chips but we cut open a nugget one day and the colour wasn’t great it was grey so would say eat at your own risk .

The pool is fab for the kids lots of slides and the kids club staff are great as are the lifeguards . My kids swimming costumes did turn green after a few days which has seen people report prior . The best thing about this hotel is the pool . Kids club and the location . Other than that I don’t think you can sag this is 4 star it’s a 3 max would we return no we wouldn’t . The lifts are a joke there narrow and you have to wait ages we personally took the stairs once we were moved to the 3 floor and only used if we were using the buggy or when checking out .

Overall I would say this is a basic budget friendly hotel with good facilities for the kids . Did we enjoy our holiday yes we did we made the most of it I did see lots of reviews prior and didn’t let it put me off as they are very mixed . Again when moving rooms or checking out no assistance offered to help with baggage some staff helpful and cherry others were rude .

Your holiday is what you make it we enjoyed trips to palma to the beach , Katmandu , the pirate show , we ate at Tom browns and black beards and also used the food courts not far where there is McDonald’s ,five guys , Taco Bell , etc
