We have just returned from a week’s stay at this lovely hotel and would highly recommend it. We travelled as a family of 4, with my 86 year old mum. We travelled on an AI basis.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely, professional and friendly Reception team who clearly explained about hiring of pool towels and in-room safes and stored our luggage until our rooms were ready, as we arrived mid-morning.
The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and modern, having been refurbished recently and our rooms were spacious and well equipped, with lovely walk-in showers, in-room safe (free) and fridge. There is a kettle and mugs but no tea & coffee provided but there is a very well-stocked supermarket at the corner of the street. There is also a water container and free chilled water on each floor.
The dining room is airy with well-spaced tables and the sports teams / children that use the hotel have their own tables reserved away from the main area. There are numerous coffee/juice stations for breakfast. The variety of the food each day was plentiful and not repetitive, with freshly cooked omelettes and eggs in the morning and meat and fish at lunch and dinner. The standard and quality of the food was exceptional. Special mention to Josy on the show cooking area.
We used the main pool area and did not have to get down early to reserve beds. There were some towels on beds from quite early but we never struggled to find beds and the hotel does operate a no-reserve policy if beds are left unattended for long periods. The pool is on the small side but we honestly never struggled and had plenty of space between beds. The pool is overseen by a lifeguard who was vigilant at all times and handled the visiting sports teams well, if they became energetic. There is a pool bar and drinks can be served to your sunbeds. The staff did come round to clear up at least 2 or 3 times during the afternoon and the area was always spotlessly clean.
There was entertainment every evening, which was very good, mainly at the Pool Bar but a couple of times on the Rooftop bar.
The resort itself is lovely. The hotel is on a rocky beach but has a decked platform with sun loungers (for a daily / weekly fee) and steps into the sea, which was so clear. There is a lovely promenade along the beach front that stretches a long way in both directions and you can walk to 2 lovely sandy beaches quite easily. We also took the little train to Platja des Port beach which is completely accessible with wheelchairs, rollators and crutches to enable people to enjoy the beach and sea. This again was lovely and clean and backed by a pedestrianised promenade filled with restaurants.
About 10 minute walk from the hotel is the main high street (Avenida Primavera) which has bars, restaurants, shops and an evening market on a Wednesday.
The highlight of this hotel though is the rooftop bar. The views are stunning. Although we were AI, some drinks were chargeable but the prices were nominal (€2.50 for a Baileys) and well worth it for the amazing sunsets. The AI drinks list is extensive though and very good quality.
Finally, the staff at this hotel were brilliant. Always friendly, smiling and helpful. Would like to specially mention Chaymae on the rooftop bar who was so friendly and Enrique in the restaurant who appreciated our attempts at Spanish but every member of staff deserves praise and we loved that the Manageress of the hotel was visible every day interacting with the staff and guests.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return.
We stayed for a week in June and it was the ideal relaxing break. On arrival we got a free room upgrade with a sea view and complimentary drinks. The staff were all friendly, helpful and approachable.
Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed, a carafe to fill at the water fountains on every floor, glasses, hairdryer, smart TV, safe, and air-conditioning. The view from the balcony right onto the sea was stunning.
The food served was fresh, tasty and the dishes were promptly replaced. There was something to suit every palate. They have 2 grilling stations where pancakes and eggs were cooked for breakfast and 2 meat dishes cooked for dinner.
There was entertainment at night from singers to acrobatics. The bar on the ground floor had inside and outside seating with a view on to the beach. But the rooftop bar views are stunning. A nice relaxing area to take in the view. I would recommend the strawberry daiquiri!
Theres a wooden walkway which stretches out around the coast. One night we managed to see some dolphins. The water is so crystal clear you can easily spot fish and crabs.
We spent most of our time at the beach, es trenc is a short walk and stretches for miles. The port is maybe about a 30 min walk, but there is a train which comes every hour and you get a return ticket for 5 euros. Theres a small convienent shop right next to hotel Romantica, a supermarket a 3 min walk and on the way you pass cafe & sal who serve delicious food, I still think about the club sandwich. We also went to 5illes a beach club on Playa dels Estanys, right on the edge of es trenc. The place, food and drinks are worth going in for.
I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend a visit to Colonia de St Jordi. Its a beautiful place.
The price was quite high, but I can't complain about anything. The staff was absolutely great, and the food was very tasty. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of space for everyone in the dining room.
Lovely hotel, clean and has everything you need. Did come with a few downsides
Firstly the food- there is very little variety, same thing everyday. They don't do any themed nights with the food but there is enough to keep you fed
Staff - the reception staff are so lovely and helpful. Zoe specifically is so nice! Some of the bar staff however need a bit more training in customer service as they act like you don't exist until they feel like coming over to you
When we checked in we were told you are not allowed to reserve sunbeds with your towels however people were down there from 7am doing so!
Room was lovely and clean, has everything you need. The area is nice and quiet and the beach is just a 5 minute walk away.
Would definitely come back again
Just returned from this hotel (5th July - 11th July) 2nd visit having stayed last year.
Hotel clean and well looked after, all the staff friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble (Chaymae and Jacqueline in particular, thank you for the great service), drinks very good and consistent especially the cocktails, food good but needs more variety (fish and/or pork most days) maybe some themed nights added in future would be great.
Location of hotel and nearby Colonia De Sant Jordi area are great, nice quieter areas with lovely beaches in both directions with local bars, shops and restaurants a short walk away.
In short we will return here again as the hotel is great and does everything right and we really love the area.
