Situated just a few steps from the long sandy beach and the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, this popular holiday hotel is situated in Can Pastilla on the Playa de Palma. A large variety of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés are in the vicinity. The city of Palma is easily reachable by public transport, the bus stop is just next to the hotel. The airport is just minutes away. Rooms at this hotel are bright and spacious, with natural light. Each comes with air-conditioning, TV, a balcony and a complete bathroom. The hotel offers an outdoor pool with sun-loungers and parasols plus a separated children's area and several sports facilities. The hotel invites guests to have a taste of Mediterranean dishes and international cuisine or sip a wide selection of drinks and cocktails at the bar.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Alua Linda Hotel. The recent refurbishment has given the hotel a modern, attractive look, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
However, there were a few issues. The shower temperature was very difficult to regulate, constantly switching from lukewarm to scalding hot. I noticed other guests had mentioned this too. The air conditioning in our room was also disappointing – even set to 10°C and left running continuously, it never kept the room cool enough.
I don’t usually watch TV on holiday, but I wanted to watch the England match and unfortunately none of the TV channels had any reception. In addition, only one of the lifts was working during our stay, which was inconvenient.
While the hotel itself has been nicely refurbished, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. Can Pastilla also wasn’t my favourite resort in Majorca, as I found it lacked the charm of some of the island’s other destinations.
Everything was good in the hotel apart from the dangerous shower which went SCALDING without notice. Anyone with mobility issues like me has to jump out of the way or risk getting injured. I reported this 3 times. Just imagine a child unsupervised in the shower . Positive note..Hotel still fresh & clean, staff excellent, food excellent. The prices of food & drink around the pool areas was excellent until the prices increased in the second week.
Room was clean and tidy, the food was good .Pool was not open until 10:30 am in 30 + degrees really!! I asked for two still waters at the bar, was given sparkling, the label was in Spanish, so I returned this, it was a real inconvenience for them to change it even though it was their fault, as I had opened one. Some reception staff seem disinterested in what you were asking,no smile, I struggled with that. Would not return. Plan: open the pool earlier, staff training needed
Pay no attention to any old reviews. This hotel is fab and worth every penny. Yes the lift is small and you may have to wait 2 minutes for it but you really cannot judge it on that. The hotel was immaculate, modern CLEAN and the best attentive staff. Perfect location, not too close to any noise of bars etc but close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. I am not one to usually leave a review but i just had to for this hotel. Also the reception smells incredible! The breakfast is GREAT and if you have a baby as i do they are so good with children. Please note there is not a kettle in your room for baby bottles but they provide hot water in the bar and restaurant. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone after spending 9 nights there. I will definitely return!
We knew the hotel had recently been updated and that was apparent upon entering. However there are issues such as the lifts that have not been updated - they don’t fit in with the decor and are very small and old! For our 4 day stay only 1 was working. We had 3 rooms on first floor (135, 137, 138) - view from these rooms was of a flat roof!! They were also over the kitchen so every morning we’d be woken by the smell of cooking and the sound of chairs scraping on the floor. The room decor was nice, rooms slightly on the small side but ample for a few nights. Bathroom well appointed and show good other than it seems to have a mind of its own in terms of the temperature! Bar area all nicely done out however disappointing not to offer service to your lounger. Also disappointing not to be able to charge to your room. For a four star you’d expect both of these things. The ‘relax’ pool is far from relaxing with the traffic noise which was disappointing. The pool in the relax area also a bit odd - the water appeared dirty / green though I don’t think it actually was it just doesn’t look that appealing. Food and drink at the pool bar reasonably priced. Breakfast fine, we didn’t eat in the restaurant for dinner. Overall our experience was fine, but could improve on a few things.
