This was our first mini break which was a b&b experience, we booked BQ Apolo with On The Beach based on location from the airport, we usually book 4*+ however based on the TripAdvisor reviews we gave this hotel a chance with it only being for three nights
Rooms: Basic but clean, and freshened each day which was unexpected. We had a room with a view of the sea and I’m glad we upgraded. It would have been great if had a kettle but a fridge was included for us to keep our water cold and a few snacks
Breakfast: we had B&B and the breakfast was really lovely. Clean, plenty of choice and not a typical Spanish buffet where some greedy guests ruin the experience
Pool: Basic, seems very quiet (no music or vibe), we felt a little nervous having a nine year old as seemed to get “looks” from guest when we turned up (and he’s a good boy!) however, we cracked on and enjoyed the pool still respectful of course.
We did take a small lilo which on day one asked the life guard if ok to use which it was, however other life guards wouldn’t allow which was disappointing. Pool towels are provided free of charge which we didn’t know about, this would have saved us space in hand luggage
Pool bar/snacks: food was really nice, we only ate lunch on day one and the pizza was really nice. Drinks reasonable priced depending what you went for, however €3.80 for a large Sauvignon is nothing to grumble about!!
Staff: so friendly, helpful and polite. From waiting teams, bar staff, reception to cleaners, everyone was really lovely and welcoming.
Noise: yes, you get to see planes take off or land, but it wasn’t a disruption at all. Quite cool to watch at night, we went for a walk and sat underneath where they come into land, pretty epic as what my son said!! With the hotel being 10 mins from the airport, we expect more noise. Didn’t cause any disturbance or noise issues.
Area/location: we have never been to Can Pastilla, and what a lovely surprise it was. The harbour nearest to the hotel had stunning views, bars and restaurants. The little marina beach was also perfect for distance to the hotel. You could venture further along the promenade with plenty of restaurants/bars and shops. It’s definitely a chilled vibe in that area
Tip: the waterpark is easy to get to and from via bus route 23, still a 20 mins walk from BQ Apolo, however when leaving uber wanted €55 (was €20 to get there) the bus was only €2 each! Also, having a nine year old, we got the Train along the promenade to Dino Golf, that was great fun and one of the best mini golf’s we have experienced. Nice beach bar to enjoy at the end too.
Overall, we were very impressed and would highly recommend anyone wanting a trip similar to what we wanted which was quick, close to all we needed , nice food, clean and to chill.
Thank you very much for a lovely stay, I feel we may be back!! ✨
Been twice to this hotel in a brilliant location and great staff. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Really good value for money . Will return again
I was there for one week with my 14-year old granddaughter and, between the two of us, we had a fantastic stay. The staff (all of them) could not have been friendlier and helpful. The room was tip-top, as we're all of the facilities, such as the gym and the indoor pool. There was an excellent range of good to suit all tastes, with a good selection of snacks during the day. Also, the hotel was only 3 minutes walk to the beach, which was a big, big plus.
Good location near the beach. The rooms are ok, but small. Cleaning is very good. Breakfast is very good. You can hear the plains come and go, so there is some noise. The staff is very nice and serviceminded. We have been there twice,
I have never been to a hotel where you cannot use inflatables in the pool ( small ring and lilo) and this wasn’t mentioned when I booked, if I had of known I wouldn’t have gone to this hotel. The lifeguard told my daughter on the first day that she couldn’t go in the pool with a lilo. Spoke to reception but no help there, said it’s the pool rules. Spoke to the Jet 2 rep a few days later when she visited who spoke to the lifeguard who was working that day, a different one called Kevin and he said we could if respectful to people around us which we were. It will put people of booking and returning with the ridiculous pool rules. Also went as a family of four and booked two rooms which I requested close together back in Jan 2026, on arrival we were put two floors apart. Asked to keep one of the rooms on for longer on our last day but they wouldn’t do that either. Don’t seem very accommodating and most of the staff quite miserable, cleaners and bar staff ok, big thanks to Kevin the lifeguard who made our pool days more enjoyable. Won’t be booking again or recommending this hotel to friends.
