HSM Calas Park

We had a brilliant week away at this hotel and honestly couldn't have asked for a better place for our first family holiday. From the moment we arrived, we felt really welcomed, and the whole week was exactly what we needed. The staff were amazing throughout our stay, but a special mention has to go to Alex and Nore. I read a review about arriving during the storm and would just like to say that we thought the staff dealt with it brilliantly. It's the heaviest rain I'd ever seen and they were working frantically to make sure that the hotel was safe for guests.

The children's entertainment was great and there was always something going on to keep them entertained. There were also loads of activities available for adults throughout the day, which was lovely as there was plenty to do without ever feeling like you had to leave the hotel.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and regularly cleaned, and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were aware before travelling that there were quite a lot of stairs, so we were prepared for this, particularly as we had a pram with us. I can imagine the stairs would be much easier to manage with older children, but for us they were definitely worth it for the beautiful views across the sea! One really useful thing to know is that the hotel has prams available to rent from reception, which could be a great option and saves having to carry your own pram up and down to the room.

Personally, I thought the food was great. The chefs cook fresh options at each meal and there was a really good variety, so I never felt like we were eating the same thing over and over again. As we were travelling with two children under three, it was actually incredibly helpful that some foods were repeated, as it meant we knew there would always be something familiar that they would eat. There was plenty of choice for adults too, so everyone was well catered for. The desserts and pastries in particular were amazing and definitely worth saving room for!

The restaurant staff were also fantastic. They were friendly, attentive and always seemed to be on top of clearing and cleaning the tables. Despite the restaurant being busy at times, it never felt chaotic and the staff worked really hard to keep everything running smoothly.

The swimming pool was perfect for children. Both ends were shallow, with it becoming slightly deeper in the middle, which made it really easy for us to let the children enjoy the pool while still feeling comfortable. There were plenty of sunbeds available and, even when the hotel was busy, it never felt overcrowded around the pool. There is also a lovely path just outside the hotel which leads down towards the beach. Along the way there are plenty of places to eat, as well as places where you can book boat trips and other activities.

Overall, we had an amazing stay and couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first family holiday.

We have just arrived back in the UK after 10 days here. We met friends from France there to celebrate their 20th Wedding Anniversary. We went with Thomas Cook which included transfers with Transunion. If you're booking the items individually, Transunion were very good. We will definitely look for them again. The food is very nice. Other reports have said it's repetitive, but there were lots of options, plenty of fish and gluten free options too. They provide lovely gluten free warm baguettes when requested. You can eat ice cream all day ( if that's your thing) and there's also a Mr Whippy machine in the dining hall dispensing absolutely delicious yogurt ice cream. The rooms are kept very clean. It's not ideal for families or those that struggle with steps. You can't avoid the steps if you want to use the pool and restaurant. That said the steps are comfortable on the legs; does that make sense? Some stone steps are hard work; these aren't. There's a water feature that runs to to bottom with us own resident terrapin "Fred". Pool Towels, TV remote and kettle are available for a €10 refundable deposit each. If you want to swap towels it's €3 euros each time. Safe keys don't require a deposit. Good quality local drinks on the all inclusive. Do a bit of research on the trips. We paid €55 for a trip to the caves of Drach which included Portocristo shopping in a simulated pearl shop. You can get the 428 bus service to Portocristo and easily walk to the caves - entry to the caves €19! There's a pathway beside the pool that leads to a fabulous choice with amazing sandy bottomed sea - great for swimming. Our first trip to Mallorca; well definitely be back and will likely return to this hotel.

Review for late September. Great hotel, extremely clean, lots of entertainment during the day and at night. Perfect beach 5 minutes away. Hugeeee shoutout to the staff, especially Tomas, Alex and Nadya, as well as the cleaners, pool maintenance man, bartenders and receptionists. The entertainment and bar staff are what made our holiday so enjoyable, we hope wherever life takes them next they are treated well and have a wonderful, safe journey, from Stanislaw and Charlotte!

The drinks were great, always very strong (sometimes too strong). Nothing wrong with the token and cup system, very sustainable and easy to work with.

Yes there are a lot of stairs but for the average healthy person this isn’t an issue. Definitely do not book if you have mobility or respiratory/cardiac issues but you should really do your own research on hotels before you book anyway. Coming from someone with a heart condition the stairs weren’t a huge issue but can be quite tiring after a long day of activities.

I definitely recommend booking a sea view apartment, the sunrise and views were always so beautiful.

Unfortunately I had become extremely sick on the second day into our short holiday, which was NOT caused by the hotel at all, but thankfully there is a pharmacy 5 minutes away from the hotel. The staff there can fluently speak multiple languages which was very helpful. Alex was also very caring about this and had offered his own personal help.

You can still use the restaurant/bar until your transfer coach picks you up Interior design is very modern and pretty Exterior very well maintained Enough Sun loungers for everyone Great bars/drinks at the poolside Super friendly and lovely cat that lived outside the hotel entrance!! Always something to eat or drink Other customers were extremely nice Still very hot for late September, lowest during the day was around 27°, up to 30°.

Mid points - Food could be a tiny bit better Bathroom shower drain was a little smelly Pool is mostly shallow except the middle section Our apartment tv didn’t have anything English, not even subtitles.

Bad points - Mosquitos go crazy in the evenings but thats just nature.

Would absolutely come back next year
