Iberostar Cala Millor

A great wee hotel, at the end of Cala Millor. On our arrival we were offered some nice prosecco or water while we checked in. We arrived about 1.30pm and were advised our room was not ready yet. So we were able to store our luggage and go to the restaurant to have some lunch. While we were checking in, it seemed we were being upsold a lot of things. The spa, an upgrade to a sea view room which would have cost us almost an extra £1000 on the already expensive holiday. Em no thank you. We had a superior double room with a side sea view, and this was more than ample enough for us. A great room with a gorgeous view out to the sea so no need to pay an extra £1000. The hotel is spotless, the maids do a great job with the rooms. A flower left on the bed with a towel display, chocolate also left. A great wee touch. The hotel is in a great location for all local bus services that can take you to Palma, Porto Cristo, Canyamel, Cala Ratjada. This is what we enjoyed as you are then not stuck around the hotel complex. The staff are all very cheery and helpful. Kevin, Hamza Jassim, Rebeka, Victor, Oscar, Luis, Nicole and Isaac. Sorry if we missed anyone out 🙂 we did not need to ask reception for anything so it was mostly the bar, and restaurant staff that we spoke with. We were never in the hotel when any of the daytime entertainment was on. But the guy who does the entertainment was not very interested in interacting with anyone. I think it took him until our 8th day staying here to say Hola. The entertainment at night is, just as you would expect live singers most nights and one evening of flamenco dancing. Then at 10pm it all stops and mostly everyone goes back to their rooms. This is definitely not a party hotel. Pool table is 2 Eur a game so noone was playing that, table tennis, I think I seen this used once in the 12 nights we were staying here. Looked at the dart board and all the darts were broken bar one. So unusable. This hotel would have been given 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for the check out process. At midday you check out and your band is cut off your wrist for all inclusive. You then get a paper voucher so you can use this only in the lunch room for food and drinks. But after the lunch room closes at 3 pm you are then expected to pay for anything else that you want to eat or drink. This is very strange, I have stayed in a number of hotels around the world and no other all inclusive hotel has ever done this. We were waiting for almost 7 hours after our check out time to the time we were going to the airport. And we were only allowed our lunch. Unless we paid for anything else. You could only get a glass of water for free. This should be looked at as other hotel chains do not do this. So because of this we would not be back at this hotel. Which is such a shame as everything and everyone was lovely. But when you are almost made to feel like a second class citizen when check out time comes around I'm afraid that's not good customer service.

EXCEPTIONAL stay at the junior suite room with gorgeous sea-view! Clean and contemporary hotel. As we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff decorated our room with towel-made love swans and a bottle of champagne - Thank you for the lovely gesture! Buffet breakfast and themed dinners were great by friendly Chef Stefano! Lovely service from staff and we enjoyed the evening live music performances. A wonderful stay!
