This review is based on two premises: vs price paid for the service and vs similar package in 5 star hotel in Croatia. Also to note we have booked serenity suite service half board. Location: the hotel is on the second row from the sea, meaning it is not at the beach directly. 5 min to the beach, no problem if you don't carry a lot of items for the family. Staff excetionally friendly, chief of the reception offered us breakfast at our early arrival which was a very friendy gesture (we got up at 3 in the morning and arrived at 9 to the hotel). However some of the staff at the breakfast and dinner very young and not trained to the level expected at 5 star hotel (e.g. very poor english, also communication under expectation). Suite was clean and cleaned 2 X per day. Serenity service comes with fully stocked fridge, free of charge.
Atmosphere ok, serenity service gives you access to the Serenity lounge which is really quiet and stocked with coffee, non-alcholic beverages snacks, fruits... really nice touch. Part of the package was also dedicated pool area with reserved sun umbrella and sun loungers. No need to wake up early and reserve ... :) We were also able to reserve our table for breakfast and dinner so no worry there. All this comes with a hefty price so regardless I would expect that for the evening shows we would also be able to reserve a table. Food choices were ok (here is where I compare with the similar packages) but the quality of the food was not a 5 star level. It can't really compare with the food in Croatia where it was a Michelin star level meals with the similar price for the package.
Beach bar food was excellent but that was at additional cost (which means they know how to prepare the food if they want to). There are chickens in the beach bar which feel at home. Not sure if they belong there... :) We didn't mind as we love animals.
Overall, we had a relaxing vacation. If they improve on some of the points it could trully stand out as a place to return to.
We had an amazing stay, it is in the perfect area to get to the beach and strip while still being a slightly quiet area which was perfect. So many restaurants, bars and shops. The atmosphere was brilliant, entertainment in the evening was fab could not fault it. Our room was beautiful, extremely clean, great air con. The bathroom was lovely big shower and two sinks. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful they delivered amazing service. Buffet breakfast and dinner so brilliant they had something for everyone! Over all we cannot fault our overall experience, the value for money was exceptional and we were very suprised when we arrived! I would 100% recommend, we loved going in the spa in the evening using the sauna and pool to have a relax.
This hotel is modern and stunning, and the rooms are decorated very nicely and are kept clean. The air conditioning inside the hotel & rooms is brilliant and is such a relief after a long, hot day.
The hotel is quite close to the beach, but far enough back to still be quiet and peaceful. There are a handful of good shops and restaurants close to the hotel.
The staff are very lovely and always say hello, and the breakfast is brilliant! It is great to also have a bar / restaurant as a part of the hotel in the pool area which makes lunch easy and the food and drinks served there are great.
The evening entertainment is also worth catching. Overall, I loved my stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it!
We stayed last year and having read some of the other reviews we were concerned about the renovation works but this did not disrupt our stay at all and the work was largely finished. Excellent service throughout our stay and lovely food. The room upgrades are excellent. Would definitely return again.
I don’t know if it’s just I’m comparing this 5 star hotel to others I have stayed in but the experience was summed up as … ‘meh was ok’, I thought the food was passable, ate it coz I paid for it, even breakfast was lack luster and that was the barometer for the other meals, pool side bar ate there once and that was enough. Outside pool decent size.. not as big as the pictures would have you believe, no deep end so swimming with goggles seemed pointless. Inside pool was nice. Towels on the few sun beds issue, as someone else has pointed out, unlike other hotels I’ve been at.. we were never approached once from one of the bar waiters for poolside drinks, I did see people being brought drinks over but we were never approached.. meaning we spent far less on the bar tab than probably we would have done if someone had bothered to ask us! We just drank the water we brought with us instead of walking over to the bar. The staff were friendly. The hotel is at the quieter rocky beach end of the resort, that was a bonus as the main resort was too crowded. At first I thought the free roaming chickens was a quaint aspect of the hotel, and with a toddler I thought it was a nice child friendly aspect, but then realised that they were not belonging to the hotel just wild in the area, leaving chicken poop mess on the grass area near the sun beds and that just highlighted a lack of care for both the environment and the animals. I feel that it was not value for money, was a package deal via TUI, which I would not endorse going through.
