3 day break

Ignore the bad review! Our stay was for 3 nights and we returned for the 2nd time. Room was slightly dated than the first one we stayed at with slightly dodgy aircon but it was fixed once mentioned. The staff are fab and the entertainment team are amazing. We love this hotel and we will always go back!

BLACK MOLD, BROKEN LOCKS, DAMP, COCKROACHES

I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere.

We booked this as part of an easyJet Holidays package, expecting the standard of a four-star hotel. Instead, almost every single day of our holiday was spent dealing with a new issue.

Our original room had a door that did not lock properly, a strong damp smell, a broken TV, and we experienced widespread itchy bites after sleeping there. We also found cockroaches in the room. We reported these issues immediately and spent a large amount of our holiday repeatedly speaking to reception and easyJet instead of enjoying our holiday. (Reception who were not helpful and said things that they never ended up doing)

After several days we were eventually moved to another room. We were told it had been thoroughly inspected and would be an improvement. Unfortunately, it was arguably worse. The replacement room had extensive black mould across the bathroom ceiling, a broken and foul-smelling fridge, a faulty door, and we had no hot water for two days. We also continued to find cockroaches, including one that fell onto my boyfriend while he was showering.

The room move itself caused further disruption. We had to pack and unpack everything, wait for the new room, throw away chilled food because we had nowhere to store it, and lost even more of the holiday we had paid for.

What disappointed us most was that although staff would acknowledge our complaints, very little was actually resolved. Every time we thought the situation had been sorted, another problem appeared. By the end of the holiday, we felt exhausted and frustrated rather than relaxed.

We have photographs and videos of the cockroaches, black mould, broken fixtures and other issues, all of which have been submitted as part of our formal complaint. (The hotel also LIED when easyjet contacted them- saying that the manager was accommodating to us and helping us solve issues- NOT TRUE- no one ever helped.)

This was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We saved for a long time for this holiday, and instead of making happy memories, we spent much of it reporting problems and waiting for solutions that never properly materialised.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here. There are far better hotels where you can enjoy your holiday without spending it dealing with avoidable problems.

Decent Stay, but Serious Security Concerns

I don't usually leave reviews, but after seeing such mixed opinions about this hotel, I thought I'd share my own experience.

Overall, our stay was decent, but there were definitely some issues that I think future guests should be aware of.

We stayed in one of the apartments within the hotel. Apart from the infestation of ants, particularly in the bathroom, the apartment itself was spacious and suited us well as a couple. We appreciated having the extra space, and it made our stay more comfortable.

One of the biggest concerns happened on our second day at around 3pm. A random group of girls entered our apartment using a key card. They explained that they had just checked in and had been assigned our room, despite us still having another four days left of our stay. Thankfully, we happened to be in the apartment when this occurred, but it raises serious concerns about guest safety and security. Had we been out, complete strangers would have had unrestricted access to all of our belongings. This is something the hotel really needs to address.

Another issue was the air conditioning. The apartment had two air conditioning units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, but only the bedroom unit actually worked. This meant the living area became quite warm, especially during the day.

Despite these issues, we did enjoy having a spacious apartment, and the stay wasn't all bad. However, the security incident in particular was unacceptable and is something that should never happen. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously, as they have the potential to greatly improve the experience for future guests.

DIRTY HOTEL

The biggest problem was cleanliness! On arrival the room allocated to my daughter and her family stunk of dampness and so on complaint she was given another room which was next door to me. Both our bedding’s were stained and so we stripped the beds and reported this to reception, we were sent replacements to put on ourselves and some of these also had stain's. Around the sunbeds day after day same filth fag butts/plasters/food/straws etc I never saw them once stack up the sunbeds sweep and wash with any product. When we complained they seemed to just hose around the beds which just moved it all around. I didn’t want to put my nice beach bag on the floor! The sun-beds themselves were rotten the cup holders on many had been used as ashtrays and were never cleaned. The mattress in our room was shocking honestly think you would only find similar at a tip! It was totally bent out of shape and had a hideous stain which I found on day one when we removed the soiled bedding full of stains! My daughter had the same issues with her mattress also! I slept the whole week on a couch in the lounge area! All you had on the bed was a sheet…. That was it and on a shelf in the bedroom were duvets with no covers that everyone uses so I slept with my pool towel the first night. On a complaint the next day I got sent a duvet in a wrapper so I knew it was new and unused and I was grateful for that. Our bathroom had such a bad sewerage smell (as did my daughters) that we went to the shops to buy bleach to put down the plug holes and toilets! My toilet system kept running then we was unable to flush it/ we had periods where the water went off completely and the metal inner round top that you pull up to turn it from bath to shower got stuck constantly! My daughter’s air-con leaked all week and she had to put a towel on the floor underneath it! Cockroaches were everywhere running around! At night coming out of pots by entertainment stage at one point there was about 15 of them. They were also running through walkways and although we were on the first floor they were running outside our rooms, both me and my daughter had them get in our bathrooms. On complaint they sprayed the walkway and left us a can of raid! From then on we had to roll a towel each night and put behind main door and they still got in. On leaving, I noticed other rooms with towels rolled against the bottom of their doors to the outside so we definitely wasn’t the only ones. After buying the children floats we were told we were not allowed them in the main pool but could use them in the tiny baby pool? Which made no sense at all! Day after day we would see people arriving and spending their money on floats to be told not allowed but didn’t see a sign to advise of this. However large groups were allowed to throw balls across the pools having their own party and making it difficult for swimmers or people with small children. The pool attendant/ life guard was not seemingly of a happy disposition and he only looked up from his phone occasionally he would have to remove his AirPods if you needed to speak to him. The four poster sunbeds are €30 a day and on your day of departure you have to pay by the hour to put your suitcase into the hold which we have never before experienced as this is normally free. If you are all inclusive be prepared to drink your wine from a plastic cup for which you pay €1 which is refunded upon its return. Day or night by pool or wherever plastic cups! The entertainment is outside on a stage so if you go in hot season you will still be sweating all evening and if it rains then obviously you will get wet. The food was pretty good i have to say and the eating areas always appeared clean with a variety of foods. The pool appeared clean and was a decent temperature. The entertainment staff were happy and tried to include everyone. We complained so many times that we stopped bothering and tried to make the best of it with the family. Shame the rooms are large with big balconies and it had the potential to be so much better. However the cleanliness, which to me and most of us is the most important would definitely stop us returning.

No ants in your pants but ants in your bed and no hot water!

Our stay at Blue Sea Club Marthas was unfortunately disappointing due to several significant issues that affected our holiday.

From Saturday until Wednesday morning, there was no hot water in either of our two rooms, in fact the whole hotel. The water wasn't just lukewarm – it was extremely cold and unpleasant to use. We reported the issue to Reception on the first evening and returned most days asking for updates, but staff were unable to provide any meaningful information or timescale for a resolution. We were told that even staff living on the resort, including families with young children, were also affected, but that did little to reduce the inconvenience for paying guests. Having to take cold showers for several days is simply not acceptable.

We also experienced problems with ants in both rooms. Housekeeping dealt with the issue promptly when ants appeared in Room 8106, but in Room 8105, where I was staying, there were ants in the bed. Maintenance sprayed the room before it was cleaned, but it significantly affected my comfort and sleep.

The lack of hot water also raised concerns about hygiene. It made me question how guest rooms, bathrooms and kitchen areas could be cleaned effectively without access to hot water over several days.

In addition, I don't believe the accommodation reflected the standard expected of a four-star hotel. The bath had visible rust stains running down the side, and the electrical socket positioned immediately next to the kitchen draining board appeared to be poorly located from a safety perspective.

While some members of staff were polite and did what they could, the lack of communication and the prolonged nature of these issues left us feeling that our concerns were not dealt with appropriately. Sadly, based on this experience, I would not return or recommend Blue Sea Club Marthas unless these issues are addressed.
