Really great, clean hotel in an excellent location. Food was fresh and varied, though restaurant sometimes busy. Air conditioning more than adequate in the room, even with the high temperatures and humidity during our stay. Lifts also fine, just need to be patient. Staff on reception friendly and helpful, though a seemingly more senior member of staff had very particular rules about the use of seating in reception, which seemed unnecessary. Our only issue was with the sun loungers by the pool. These are reserved by guests very early, sometimes the night before, despite this not being allowed. Hotel policy was not followed by staff either to remove them which was disappointing, and not per their response on some of the other reviews on here. Would return again outside of the UK summer holidays when quieter.
Overall a good stay. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Rooms were nice and well kept however the AC could be improved, to add to this the AC in the dining hall needs majorly improved as after 5 minutes we both were sweating a lot. The hotel states you are not allowed to reserve sun loungers for more than 15 minutes however it was not enforced, in the 7 days we spent there from 11am-4pm everytime we went to get a sun lounger all of them were “taken” however only 1/4 of them had people on them.
In general though a really good stay and would return again
This is the second time we are visiting this place. We were here 11 years ago when my baby boy was only 6 months old. We loved it the first time and after going to different places in Majorca and around the world came back now when my boy is 11 and nearly as tall as me. It has changed and the little beach cove is more crowded. But if you go early in the morning, you’ll still get the beach practically to yourself. The same goes with swimming pools. We went all inclusive and the food is delicious! Fresh fruit and veg all the time. Sea food is amazing! So are the cakes! I want to take this opportunity to thank the staff - very friendly and hard working people. Special gratitude to the cleaning lady who had to clean our very messy room that was constantly covered in sand after our morning trips to the beach, the waiters who where always there to take and bring our drinks or clear empty plates, and very hard working animation team who were practicing their dance moves well into the night in order to perform them flawlessly and with joyful enthusiasm to the guests by the pool. Will definitely recommend this resort to anyone, especially those with family and children. Who knows, maybe in 11 years my son will come back here with little children of his own.
Very Disappointing Stay Despite a Great Location
We chose Barceló Ponent Beach based on the impression of a comfortable 4-star hotel in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, our experience was far below our expectations.
The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival and had to be cleaned again. During our stay, we experienced ants in the room, a cockroach in the bathroom during the night, and repeated insect bites. After reporting the issues, we were moved to another room, but unfortunately the problems continued. The new room was extremely damp, poorly maintained, had visible mould on the walls, and inadequate ventilation.
The hotel did not meet acceptable standards regarding cleanliness and maintenance. We were also disappointed with the buffet restaurant, which was overcrowded, extremely hot and uncomfortable. With a very large number of guests using the same buffet facilities, we expected better hygiene measures and organisation. Due to our concerns, we chose to eat at the hotel’s à la carte restaurant instead, resulting in additional expenses.
Another major issue was the lack of sunbeds, with guests having to get up as early as 5:00 a.m. to secure one.
What was most disappointing was the lack of a welcoming and solution-oriented response from the hotel management. Despite raising several concerns and giving the hotel the opportunity to resolve them, we did not feel that our issues were handled in a satisfactory way.
The location is beautiful, but unfortunately the overall experience did not reflect the standard we expected from a Barceló hotel. Significant improvements are needed regarding cleanliness, maintenance, hygiene, guest capacity management and customer service.
We had a lovely stay 10 night stay at this hotel, as a young couple we don’t usually book family friendly hotels and just go adults only but this hotel has definitely made us change our mind and the entertainment staff have decided this for us, they go above and beyond every day & night to include both the adults and children, they are a huge credit to the hotel and amazing performers!
The little downsides we had to this hotel was the air con in the room and the restaurant, it just didn’t seem powerful enough and with the humidity we had a few nights where we struggled to sleep and eat our food it was that warm. Also the staff in the bar area in the evenings were quite rude and never smiled!
We realised quite early on from our stay that you need to be up quite early around 8am to get a sunbed around the family pool.
The hotel is in a great location and right next to the beach, with only a 15 minute walk into the town where you’ll find a lot of the lively restaurants and bars.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel.
Lucy & Connor.
