Better than expected with a few flaws
I was quite worried before travelling to this hotel after reading some of the recent reviews. Thankfully, I found the hotel better than I was expecting!
There are a few negatives which did lower my score, but it was absolutely fine for what I was using it for (mainly a base to explore Cala D'or).
Positives-
Great location
Amazing views (we had a sea view room on level 6)
Friendly, helpful staff
Nice drinks including cocktails
Entertainment team were lovely & really enthusiastic.
Negatives- Areas looking very tired. Needs some TLC Sunbeds are crammed together and never many left Our room smelt a bit of damp when we first arrived Breakfast is pretty good but lunch wasn't great. Never tried dinner
I traveled with a teenager daughter, and we spent the majority of the time at the beach and out on an evening. For this, the hotel is ideal. I probably wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay round the pool all day, but we all want different things from a holiday. If you are looking for a base/reasonable hotel for B&B this should be fine.

Nice hotel, disappointing rooms for the price
I’d first like to say the staff here are amazing! The bolero bar staff were so kind and amazing and all staff throughout the day would greet us and have conversation! The entertainment team was excellent! They were all so lovely and made time to talk to us outside of their work! Special shoutout to macerena and papi chullo! The buffet food was lovely enjoyed our food every day and was amazing quality and variety!
However, the rooms were very disappointing for the price. As soon as we walked in, the room had a damp/mould smell which was uncomfortable throughout our stay. Later on we discovered mould all over the wall in the hall outside our room! Another couple we met showed us pictures of excessive mould growth they found behind their tv! The shower barrier was too small and every time we showered there was a flood on the floor that even came through outside of the room with the door shut!
Overall we enjoyed our time and the staff are a real credit to this hotel.

Big disappointment
Unfortunately we failed to take notice of the negative reviews and consequently this hotel failed to meet our expectations of a 4* Barcelo. Positives include the comfy bed and view from the balcony. Negatives - Unfortunately our room lacked routine maintenance which I have highlighted below:
- Large cracks behind front door
2 Bathroom door has suffered from water damage and needs replacing. 3 Bathroom mirror has corrosion 4 Bathroom hooks including toilet holder need tightening 5 Bedding needs to be checked for wear and tear 6 Curtain off the rail 6. There is also a smell of dampness once you enter the room which could be associated with the shower water leaks. 7. Bathroom extractor not working and contributing to smell and dampness. Outside areas need TLC and sunbed reservation at 6.00am is unacceptable.
Would not recommend staying here.

Gorgeous week away
We have just returned from a gorgeous holiday at this hotel. We didn’t have any complaints with the food, air con etc, it was all great. Beach was lush as was the pool and facilities. We got upgraded to a sea view on check in which was lovely too! There is lots of nice restaurants and shops in walking distance that are extremely good value for money.
Our only complaint would be that we’d like to have had clean towels everyday and a change of bedsheets. Being on a beach resort, sand etc is a bit annoying on the towels and beds!
We will definitely be returning.
Avoid at all cost!
A 2 star hotel pretending it is a 4 star. Our room stank of mould/damp. Paint coming off walls. Black mould in the room. Not able to eat meals outdoors unless you upgrade to All Inclusive plus. So stuck inside in what i can only describe as a school canteen. Management dismissive and arrogant. Will never come here again. It has only 1 star as i couldn't give it a zero.
