Had the most amazing week at this resort from August 31st - September 7th. Me, my mum and my 5 year old son stayed in a standard room, I was worried from the pictures that it might be a bit crammed but there was plenty of space and so much storage! The room was clean, beds comfy and house keeping was fantastic.
The resort was perfect for us, we spent most of the week at the kids pool, we all loved the slides and it was the perfect depth for my little boy to build his confidence and for us adults to be able to swim in. The temperature was a bit chilly first thing but soon warmed up once the sun came out. We didnβt experience any issues with getting loungers around the pool - just dropped our towels off on our way to breakfast to save us carrying everything. We spent quite a bit of time in the playground and splash pad, there are sun loungers in that area too unlike other resorts Iβve stayed at, it was lovely to be able to relax while he played.
The food is the best holiday food I have experienced, the level of choice for each meal is crazy and everything is really good quality and fresh. Iβm vegetarian and struggled to choose most meals what to have because there were so many amazing options. My 5 year old tried loads of new foods too and said the food was his favourite thing about the holiday.
My little boy is very averse to noise so we decided against the mini disco but he did join in pool activities with the animation staff and they were lovely with him, warm, encouraging and fun without being too overwhelming.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going, there is something there for everyone. The staff are so warm and friendly, the grounds are beautifully kept and the location is ideal.
Overall, a very nice hotel. Service is very slow at the Pool, Berlingo and Piano Bar. Not enough staff on. Milk bar and Pepe's Shack, you could be waiting up to 20 minutes to get served.
Entrertainers are great however. 1 particularly stands out the most, Francisco is his name. He walked around to guests asking them if they wanted to do archery. To my amusement, I said yes. I didn't know what to expect but he walked me through everything and I really enjoyed it. I later saw him at the mini disco and he was absolutely brilliant with the children. He is a credit to your team.
If you could just improve staffing levels.
The room is clean and comfortable.
Location is nice and central to the beach and promnade outside the back gate.
The only thing is the DJ in the Milk Bar on Sundays and Tuesdays, small but load for the area especially when there isn't many people there.
Cannot praise this hotel enough.... Even though it's a very large hotel with 528 rooms the service is quick... Rooms are amazing we asked for ground floor and got what we requested.... Food amazing πif you can't find anything you like you must be dead fussy.... Hotel is spotlessly clean.... Staff are really friendly... Cannot wait to come back in February
Suzanna from guest services was amazing. Thank you Suzanna you are a great asset to the hotel, very good interaction with guests. As for the rest of the hotel this is not 4 star and even though they aspire to be 5 star it's not achievable. You can get water at breakfast and lunch but they switch it off for evening meals and you have to buy it even if you have a medical condition which means you have to be constantly hydrated. Food is average, the only 2 theme nights that were any good were the Mediterranean and Spanish. We had 1 more nights stay at the hotel yet had a greeting for another guest on the TV in the morning. Room not clean, soap residue on the soap holder in the bath, water marks on bathroom wall from previous guests and patio floor never cleaned from time of check in to departure. Not hygienic at all. Entertainment was dire.
This was our 5th time visiting the beautiful island of Lanzarote, but our 1st visit staying at the Seaside los jameos hotel. We were travelling as a family, with my husband & 12 year old son. We were extremely excited for our 1 week stay as we had heard such wonderful things about the SLJ. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning reception area. We were immediately greeted with massive smiles by Gaston & Nuria on reception, who offered us a welcome drink of freshly squeezed orange juice and water which was a lovely touch and very welcomed after a long flight and little sleep. Check in was smooth and despite check in being busy, having 4 staff on reception made it a very quick and easy process. Our son has autism and complex needs and we needed to change our room type and upgrade to 2 interconnecting rooms with an internal door with a walk in shower for him as not all room types have this (some are baths with overhead showers) The general manager Beate Sekula was absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful organising this for us before our arrival which we were SO SO grateful for π the layout of the 2 interconnecting rooms worked perfectly for our son and made our stay so much more relaxing and comfortable. We requested an early check in as we had an early flight into Lanzarote and the rooms were all cleaned and ready for us on our arrival. Rooms were extremely spacious and absolutely spotless as was the rest of the hotel. (And i am very fussy on this!!) Gorgeous walk in shower, fridge, spacious balcony with sun loungers, table and chairs. We had rooms 2089 & 2090 in the Tenerife building which for us was a fantastic location being literally steps away from the main reception & down the stairs to the main restaurant and bar areas. We have stayed at quite a few all inclusive buffet hotels before and food was always very repetitive and ALWAYS cold!!! But NOT at the Seaside los jameos!!! We were staying on a half board basis and ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel. EVERYTHING was cooked fresh in front of you every evening!! We were completely overwhelmed with the amount of choice and freshness for a buffet. Fresh fish, homemade pasta & sauces, Chinese & Indian cusines and an array of freshly cooked meats ranging from pork, chicken, duck, beef and lamb! A couple of nights they had run out of spaghetti for my son and on both occasions the chefs smiled and said no problem we will find some nothing was ever too much trouble! Breakfast was also fabulous and so much choice!! Everything from freshly cooked eggs, omelettes, waffles, honestly we didn't really need lunch!! π The hotel has about 3 or 4 large swimming pools and ALL were heated to a beautiful temperature π‘ π which is usually very difficult to find in Lanzarote!!! The new children's pool with waterslides was a huge hit with our 12 year old who had all of us going up and down them for hours on end SOOO much fun!!! We loved the pools were all 1 level aswell and not too deep so very safe for kids. NO sun beds wars here everything lovely and spread out and plenty of beds for all even in the height of the summer holidays!! Our son also throughly enjoyed the mini golf which is another new addition to the SLJ. β³οΈ Now moving onto the evening entertainment.. one word WOW!!!! This isn't your bog standard cheesy entertainment!! These are professional shows of a very high standard. In particular we loved the Tina Turner tribute band, Code Red boys, Dynamite duo & Abba were our favourites but seriously the entertainment team are a massive asset to the hotel!! There was also a lovely lady (apologies I forgot her name) who ran a musical bingo one evening, my son who is usually extremely anxious and shy even went up on stage in front of everyone and sang a Michael Jackson song on the mic!! She even made my son feel super special afterwards by asking for his autograph which was so sweet. Location wise this hotel ticks all of the boxes, 10 minutes away from the airport π« 2 mins walk to a beautiful sandy beach, fabulous restaurants, bars and shops including a Spar shop which we found extremely handy for snacks and drinks. Special thank you to Beate Sekula the general manager of the SLJ who has this place running like clockwork and to all of your extremely hardworking, friendly and outstanding staff members π π @ The Seaside Los Jameos hotel for making our stay so special and for making memories that will last a lifetime!! We will π― be back!! Well done SLJ keep doing what you're doing!!
Lots of love, The Marshom Family xxx
