You just can't beat the RIU all-inclusive service, where you can enjoy delicious snacks and grill food by the poolside around the clock at Pepe's Food corners.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This was our second visit, but unfortunately it will be our last.
There were both positives and negatives during our stay. The food was generally good and the staff worked hard to keep everything well stocked. However, the menu became repetitive, with many dishes from the evening meal reappearing at lunchtime the following day. The dining area could also feel quite chaotic at times, with children running around the serving stations while guests were carrying hot plates of food, which didn't feel particularly safe.
Our room was located on the far side of the hotel, across the bridge, which made it quite a walk, especially when arriving with luggage and when going back and forth to the restaurant.
The soft drinks were often flat and not very cold. The beer was acceptable, but the cocktails were weak and mostly filled with ice. The entertainment was disappointing, feeling outdated, repetitive and lacking variety.
Our biggest issue was the sunbed situation. On the morning of our 6:30am transfer, we saw guests reserving sunbeds with towels before sunrise. On other days, entire sections of sunbeds were reserved but left unused for hours. The beds were also positioned very close together. Another major downside was the number of flies around the pool area. They were everywhere, making it difficult to relax without several landing on you at any given time.
The evening seating arrangements were also frustrating. If you wanted to sit outside, it was often difficult as many of the chairs had been moved indoors, leaving tables outside with no seating. Queue times at the bar could also be quite long.
There is a strong sewage smell at various points of the hotel!
That said, not everything was negative. Our housekeeping attendant was excellent and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, and the staff worked incredibly hard throughout our stay.
On several occasions, we also saw management walking around the hotel checking standards and speaking with staff, which was reassuring.
We can't compare this hotel to other Riu properties, but overall we felt it was overpriced for the experience provided. While there are certainly some strengths, the issues outweighed the positives for us, and we would not choose to return.
Stayed here for 1 week in July have to say it was worst hotel i ever stayed in food was horrible same thing every day room was basic bad smell in bathroom found cockroaches in bedroom ac not good and entertainment terrible very poor selection of drinks need I go on felt i needed a holiday when i got home
Nice clean hotel, large in separate blocks. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms clean and modern. Food basic, meats of poor quality ,on repeat. Snacks only burgers and hotdogs every day, also in restaurant. Ice cream only in restaurant for lunch and dinner, none with snacks through day for kids. Entertainment average, some local singers same nearly every night. Fizzy drinks not much fizz ( flat before you sit back down). No waiter service for drinks at all, they only clear away.
Most staff were friendly, 1 of the life guards was so rude and didn’t talk to anyone, shouting at guest no balls or inflatables in the pool, next day with a different life guard you can 🤔 so confusing and annoying. There are 3 pools at this hotel so just make 1 for swimming, the other 2 for playing around and having fun would be an idea. Also there was a man & wife at the hotel who had sunbeds on the edge of the swimming pool (they picked a fine spot) who stood up and shouted at anyone who splashed a-bit of water near them, this was witnessed by myself on a lot of occasions, he was so rude and aggressive, and seemed to get away with this behaviour everyday, even in front of the staff.. most days around the main 2 pools were stressful with these people, we ended up going out most days on the 2nd week, who goes on holiday to have this type of stress, so beware before booking. The entertainment staff work so hard during the day, and by the way! on some days they put giant inflatables in the pools and both children & adults 🤩 had fun. ( so no inflatables or not) it was great watching everyone have fun. These staff also preformed the evening entertainment, they honestly do not stop. Food was good for all inclusive but if you get the chance go the Asian restaurant, the food here was lovely. 1st room we were put in had a musty smell, after 3 days I couldn’t take it anymore and was changed without any hassle to a lovely fresh smelling room. Overall cleanliness of this hotel is great and what we expected with a Rui hotel.
Our second time at this hotel and it was slightly different to what I remember..
We requested adjoining rooms (if possible) but we could not be granted this due one being a family room.
The hotel advised they had upgraded my parents for free and they were next door to us. We had rooms 045/046
The family room was not a family room. It was simple an apartment with a bedroom (two singles pushed together) air con which I don’t normally use but had to on this occasion due to the heat and my nieces had the sofa bed pulled out to make a Z bed…. This meaning…… nowhere to sit, the children paying the same price as paying adult but get the most I comfiest bed but furthermore, there was no air con in this part of the apartment…
Shower was ample for what we needed and placing the towels on the floor/ in the shower they were kindly changed…
There was a mini fridge and you can get bottles of water from the lobby bar…
The living room area is the apartment was very musty….
There are two pool area. They class the oblong pool down within the old part of the hotel is very strict with the life guards. Your jog permitted lilos balls actually enjoying yourself the top part of the hotel two square pools and this is where the Riu entertainment is….
One part of this your permitted to have fun…
The food was fine different specialist every night however three members of our family did unfortunately get food poisoning… but Overall ample foods for everybody.
What let us down and what we can’t remember the last time.. SELF SERVICE DRINKS unless alcohol which are made out of a machine.. the drinks become very flat very quickly and are not cold.
Several other restaurants you can book, gym is very standard and a shop on site
A gate at the bottom entrance straight across the road to the beach and only a few minutes walk to the main strip.
We have been a couple of times but would not return
