- Lava Beach Hotel

Set in Puerto del Carmen, Hotel Lava Beach offers 5-star accommodation with a fitness centre, a garden and a terrace. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. The tour desk is available to assist guests in planning their days out. A buffet breakfast is available each morning at the property. You can play mini-golf at the hotel. Puerto del Carmen is 2 km from Hotel Lava Beach. The nearest airport is Lanzarote Airport, 6 km from the property.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Perfection in every way. This has to be the best land based hotel (we cruise a lot and have got used luxury and a quiet style) in Europe. There is nothing negative to say, the design of the hotel is perfection, muted colour theme, the staff are attentive and polite, the buffet varied and plentiful even for one vegetarian, and the setting perfect. Close enough to bars and restaurants if that floats your boat, and close enough to the beach for a quiet, restful day, a very peaceful beach leading either way to larger beaches We are already planning return visit, it truely is a gem of a hotel, not too far from airport, nor other local towns in a taxi or local bus. The architects and interior designers should be congratulated, All rooms appear to have a good view, we overlooked the sea, and public spaces are spacious yet allow for your own area - no mass rows of beds around a boring square pool. I could praise even more, but please trust me, a discerning well travelled couple, really think they have found perfection
Fantastic 5 star hotel that packs a mighty 5 Star punch in all aspects. Rooms are fantastic and cleaned immaculately each day. Staff are all attentive, friendly & smart, whilst being led by the hotel manager who leads from the front with her positive example and attitude which rubs off on all staff. This is our third visit since the hotel opened and have to say over this 8 year period the hotel has maintained its fantastic appearance and does not look any older than when first opened. The breakfast is plentiful and fabulously presented and staff at all times work to make all dining experiences feel special. Would recommend to all who like the fine things in life at a reasonable price bracket. Some visitors could learn from staff in smiling a little more as holidays are for enjoying and it’s nice to be 😊
Our 2nd time here. Lovely hotel. Perfect location, right next to the beach. We had a junior suite overlooking the pool. Nice to have the extra space. TV in both areas, although the one in the bedroom kept turning itself off. WiFi isn’t great here. But we’re not here to watch TV. Lovely big balcony. All nice and clean. Hair dryer and straighteners provided. 1st hotel I’ve been to that provided straighteners. 👍 Kettle, fridge, coffee machine all provided. Plenty of storage. Can’t fault our room. No iron or steamer so be aware of that. You can borrow a steamer from reception but they are limited. Loads of choice at breakfast. Plenty of space in the dining room. Tea/Coffee bought on your table. Didn’t eat in the main restaurant as we like to get out and about. The gardens and the pool are clean and well maintained. We will definitely come back.
Fantastic hotel that is comfortable & immaculately clean with a relaxed vibe. The friendly staff got the level of service just right from the friendly porter and reception to waiting staff at breakfast. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in on a 'package' deal. They are obviously all completely invested in achieving high quality service in every area. Pool area & gardens are really well maintained and our room was fabulous and modern with a really comfortable bed and great views over the pool and mountains. The Nespresso machine with top up milk each day was really appreciated. The breakfast buffet had high quality food not mass produced cheap ingredients like in similar hotels. The variety of food on offer was exceptional. Thank you team Lava Beach
Review of Hotel Lavender Beach
A few years ago while on a training course in Madrid with my then Employer Telefonica, the group was asked to define “Service Excellence,” sometimes called World Class Service. As a group we bandied different definitions around, some outlandish, some ludicrous, until we arrived at “Service Excellence is when you meet the exact needs of your Customer, when they have that need.” This simple mantra was adopted within our group at Telefonica, though likely to have been usurped by other equally relevant definitions since my time with the Company.
You may ask why I am providing such a long preamble to my review, firstly it is because I am a writer - that is what we do, but more importantly nothing describes the efforts of the Hotel Lava Beach staff better than this mantra. If you think about it, this definition of Service Excellence means that every Customer has to be treated as an individual - That is exactly what the Hotel Lava Beach service delivery team do to perfection. Whether it be the young Mother with a small child that I observed a Hotel staff member helping on my last visit to the hotel, or Stella a senior member of the management team who falls into step with me as I walk across the hotel, in the knowledge that I leave my mobility scooter at the pool in an effort to improve my walking ability as a disabled guest. Whatever your circumstances the staff go out of their way to quietly, without fuss assist you and make your stay as fulfilled as it can be.
People tell me I should try other resorts or other hotels, and I am not so blinkered that I don’t recognise that other hotels will be cheaper, maybe have better restaurant facilities or possibly better hotel decor. Better staff - NEVER - you will struggle to find a more effective, more dedicated, more enthusiastic and happier group than the service delivery team at the Hotel Lava Beach.
On my latest visit I met Julia, a new member of the management team and one I am convinced is a clone of Laura, her predecessor and also a lookalike of Elisa my long standing friend at the hotel. Julia in the same manner as the other management team members walks around with a permanent cheerful smile, looking for ways to help the guests and make their stay more comfortable. So whoever is operating the cloning machine is doing a great job.
I do not know how my mobility will affect my ability to continue using the Hotel Lava Beach, which itself is a paradox as the design and structure of the hotel, combined with the help and friendliness of the staff make the hotel ideal for people, such as myself with limited mobility. Nevertheless whether I make one more visit, six or another ten visits, I shall forever remain indebted to the staff at the hotel I now feel privileged to call my friend. People such as Nicole (Director), Stella (Assistant Manager), Elisa (My Bestie at the hotel), Julia, and the departed Laura - members of the Management team. The Christina’s and Zsofia who are the Receptionists, and the wonderful bar and Restaurant staff including Christian, Domingo, Maria, Camila, Joan, Melody, Deseree, Veronica, Mohammed, Kamal, Lucretia, Nadia, Carlos, Monica, Zaira, Dass and Noah. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the Head Chef, Nauzet who comes out of the kitchen to help me carry my meal back to my table, or indeed Jessica, some would say a lowly cleaner but I see her as a ray of sunshine, we hardly speak a word of each other’s language but she never fails to greet me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, another example of why the Hotel Lava Beach is so special. Each of the named people are wonderful human beings, I guarantee they will make your stay a memorable event, it is in their DNA. I can only apologise if I have omitted to name any of the fantastic staff, be assured it was by accident not design.
My final words are these. You can either book a holiday or create a lasting memory, I will always opt for the latter, which is why I, and many others return to the Hotel Lava Beach.
Best of all ABBA is still on every playlist during Aqua Aerobics, with thanks to Marcia who persists in playing their music 🤣🤣🤣
