Gloria Izaro Club Hotel

TUI dropped us off further up the road so we had to drag our suitcases down the road didn't know where we was going as it wasn't so obvious. The reception area is like a taxi booking room so small and dingy . The man in reception was nice and pleasant checked us in and gave us our cards for our room. Now, the bad part and I wish I researched it before I booked was that you had to drag your suitcase up 2 slopes or 40 steps to get to your room. No help or assistance from anybody. Then a further 18 steps to get to your apartment. No lifts. It's also an Apartment complex not a hotel. Room was spacious clean and tidy it had every thing you needed to a microwave hob fridge kettle but our room and bathroom smelt like rotting sewage it stank for 7 days made us feel sick it was coming from the bathroom very unpleasant smell had no choice but to live with it🤢 Room was very small but plenty of storage for clothes. Room was cleaned and towel changed everyday. Cleaners were friendly and polite. Although the staff seemed to smile no one made any effort to get to know you or ask us our name. We never managed to get a sun bed they were always reserved even though you get a letter not to do this. No staff moved the towels. The entertainment was a 1 man show. Found it very boring. Music was playing from the pool bar that was my only entertainment. Breakfast was good usual eggs bacon beans omelette fruit yoghurts the usual stuff it was the same every day. Dinner was not that great found it quite bland and dull nothing exciting. Chicken was bland no flavour. I would of liked to have seen hot dogs burgers lasagne spaghetti bolognaise. Deserts was the same every time we went down they just take out the same thing every day. I ended up wasting my dinner I never felt satisfied. Ended up eating out most nights. My child only ate breakfast. Food is better in Ibiza and Costa Brava you never want to eat out. The hob in the kitchen didn't work for 2 days so couldn't make any food. Then the tv lost connection in the night and the man came to fix it later the next morning. The place is situated at the top of a hill so a 20 min walk to old harbour and beach. There are a few shops and restaurants down the road. Superdino supermarket is a few minutes down the road. This place isn't for me it just lacks atmosphere and excitement and it certainly ain't worth the price I paid. It's 2 star ⭐ or 3 at the most not sure where all these amazing reviews come from. If you're not mobile or asthmatic don't book here. Too hilly. Too far for the shopping centre and beach. No lifts to rooms. Far too many steps and slopes. I stayed in my room for last 2 days was that fed up now I can't wait to go home. If I come here again I will book somewhere on a flat road more closer to the beach or on the beach and not on a hill.

Just spent 10 days in this faultless hotel. Everything was just perfect . There was a great selection of food which was always hot and tasty. The cold starter selection was my favourite. Staff were all very pleasant and the entertainment guy was fabulous. Sunbeds were never a problem to get. Rooms cleaned everyday and the place is spotless. Yes it is up hill but a taxi only costs around 4 euro but the walk caused us no issues. Ignore all the negatives we had done our research before we went so were aware of the location etc. 5 litres of water can be purchased at reception for €1.50 so saves carrying it back.

Another fab stay. This place is feeling like a home away from home. Friendly, welcoming staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff work so hard in housekeeping and maintenance all the time. Any issues are dealt with immediately. Bus shop for the.No. 3 bus leaves you practically at the door, if you dont fancy walk from the strip. I have stayed in other locations in Lanzarote and this is the favourite one to come back to, time and time again. See you next year! Special mention to the entertainment guy. He was never too pushy and seemed to actually enjoy the fun and interaction with the guests.
