I’ve just returned from a 10-night stay at Beatriz Playa & Spa, and unfortunately I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in a beautiful beachfront location, and I really liked the open, spacious feel of the building. However, it’s very tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment.
The biggest disappointment was the food. It was extremely repetitive, with lots of unusual dishes that didn’t really make up a proper meal. There wasn’t much choice, and although you won’t go hungry, after just two days we gave up on the all-inclusive food and ate out for most of the holiday, which completely defeated the purpose of booking all-inclusive.
Housekeeping was also poor. My room wasn’t cleaned every day, and I had to ask twice for it to be cleaned. Most days the beds were simply pulled back into place rather than properly made or the room thoroughly cleaned.
The worst part of our stay was finding cockroaches in the room. I was even woken at 2am by one crawling on my face, which was incredibly upsetting. The response from the hotel afterwards was disappointing. It took far too long to get clean bedding and assistance, and the way the situation was handled was far below what I would expect.
also had bird poo on sun beds that weren’t cleaned.
The staff were a mixed experience. Some were genuinely friendly and helpful, but others came across as rude and uninterested.
Overall, it’s a shame because the hotel has so much potential thanks to its fantastic location. Unfortunately, the poor food, lack of cleanliness, pest issues, and inconsistent service mean I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others.
We’ve had a lovely time here. 2 adults and a 7 year old. There was plenty of choice every meal time, something for everyone. At least 2 types of meat, fish, plenty of salad, veg, rices. and pasta dishes. The room was cleaned every day, the cleaner did a fab job even folding up my grandson’s pj’s and placing them on his pillow. The child’s sofa bed was very comfy. We didn’t find any of the staff to be rude or unhelpful, maybe other guests are forgetting that we’re in Spain and not all of the staff speak English? The only rude people we encountered were other guests. We didn’t use the pool, it was too crowded with adults sitting in the shallowest parts by the steps which made it almost impossible for children to get into the pool, we spent every afternoon in the sea which is a 2 minute walk away. I’ve seen some reviews where people have complained about rubbish lying around. This is Lanzarote, the windy island! And if people actually put their rubbish in the bin it wouldn’t happen. Overall it’s been a lovely holiday. The hotel is a 3 star, you get what you pay for! You can’t expect champagne when you pay for lemonade!
Awful , food terrible , rooms awful , doors didn’t lock , decor hasn’t been touched in at least 40yrs , staff rude , pay extra for iron , for towels , AI drinks were small cups of pre-mixed watered down cocktails , location was next stop airport - waste of paying for all inclusive as we couldn’t eat in hotel it was so bad , entertainment bad too .. needs complete overhaul
Location is wonderful, great walks both ways along the sea front, beach on the doorstep with was just lovely.. Will definitely go back to this area, but not the hotel. Hotel definitely needs a renovation. Food was hit & miss, not all drinks were always available, and if you asked why you got a shrug 🙄 food all over restaurant floor, no one bothering to clean it (although the holidaymakers didn’t help by not picking up what they dropped) all this contributed to cockroaches. Pool area was crammed and dirty too, never saw anyone clean it up. Overheard several people complain about the cleanliness, only for the hotel just to defend it, no action ever taken. Crazy golf was very worn out, although we did see that they were starting to repair it as we left. Our extra bed wasn’t made up for our arrival, when we opened the sofa bed, filthy yellow stained sheet greeted us… not a great first impression. We avoided a lot of time in the hotel, the outside area was just 💯 nicer!
NO WAY SHOUPD THIS HAVE A 4STAR RATING Rooms are very dated Air-con is loud makes a rumbling sound constantly not a big deal i know food is ok I suppose just normal for an all-inclusive there is literally nothing in the surrounding area apart from a spar no pharmacy either in my honest opinion this hotel is a bog standard 3star hotel very dated staff are rude cocktails are made from a machine not fresh they will be miles better hotels for the kind of money there expecting im not a posh tw#t or nothing I live on a council estate in Manchester so trust me when I say look elsewhere not worth the money 😉
