The resort offers the perfect spot to relax in this quiet fishing village on the south coast of Lanzarote and enjoy the island's year-round sunshine. Find your own piece of paradise at one of the ten swimming pools or unwind in the spa. The local beach and marina are also within easy reach. The bus stop is also just a few minutes walk away, where guests can take advantage of the free shuttle service to Playa Dorada beach.

So bad - returned 11 times!!
11th stay at THB Tropical Island Playa Blanca since 2022. What makes us choose to return: Staff - THB team want everyone to have their best holiday, it's their priority! Pools - loads of them to suit everyone throughout complex and a new hot tub! Adults only pool - very peaceful plus ongoing improvements, newest example shelves on sunshades that are really practical and better than old plastic tables. Hotel grounds - so much greenery and well maintained, we noticed additional path lighting so really lovely for quiet evening stroll along well lit paths. Sunbeds - 100s of them available 24/7. Rooms - spacious and well maintained, I don't care if my preferred rooms are dated, they have huge baths! Restaurants - great value/choice in buffet restaurant, Atlantic for take away or eat in for pizza, pasta etc, plus Atlantic's price for eating in or takeaway is the same price. Hassan and Isaac at Atlantic are excellent hosts, the chefs produce great food. Entertainment - in the Dome onsite. Tip, best to visit when professionals are there! Location - 10 minutes to "town" and beach or 15 minutes to marina. Hotel - spacious and never feels over crowded. For this review I would like to give special mention to Aremi on reception duty when we checked in - the room allocated was perfect 1st floor, sun in the afternoon, large balcony as I'd requested. Sun from 8am - 8pm was a bonus! Unfortunately, room faced road across from reception before blue gates and from previous visits we knew it would be noisy from buses either reversing or idling engines when folk were picked up/dropped off, but all credit to Aremi who tried really hard to find a room we would prefer - we made the room work by keeping all windows closed and air con on, it was only really bad a few times to be fair. Aremi also suggested rooms which would be better suited for our next visit - many thanks Aremi and this is another example of staff going the extra mile to help! During a chat with Patricia the deputy manager, we were discussing the improvements we'd noticed, (including the sign at the towel hut I'd previously suggested for ease in 4 different languages, I took credit for that!!), Patricia was delighted that we'd noticed the improvements the hotel is making and advised upcoming alterations the hotel is making to make guests' experience better. THB Tropical Island continues to be our first choice for Lanzarote - many thanks to everyone who works so hard to make our stays so good, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else😁❤ See you again soon🤞

Couples avoid
Butlins/wetherspoons vibe. Don’t come here for peace & quiet. We were booked elsewhere but 5 days before our trip, jet2 advised us of major building works. Ended up here as it had an adults only pool/bar area (at extra cost). Only the bar area is closed and the only place to get food or drink is snack bar by the kids oool, akin to a kindergarten serving artery clogging fried food, all drinks served in children’s plastic beakers. Avoid if you want a peaceful break.
Very disappointing 2nd stay
Visted due to a trip a few years back being excellent, however this time it did not live up to expectations. It has really gone down hill. Room was unpleasant, the beds were as comfy as camping beds, struggled to get a decent full nights sleep that we resorted to booking one night in another hotel to get that needed sleep. One night was kept awake until 5am with noisy neighbours singing and shouting and moving furniture. Reception team are super friendly and helpful and allocated us a new room once we complained.
Food is not the best. We stayed half board and towards the end of the week we were eating out instead. One morning there was ants running up the wall to the toaster collecting crumbs and taking them back down. Staff did wipe them away. But from seeing that we’ve avoided food from there.
Walk to the seafront is about 15/20mins.
Main pool area is very big, never struggle to get sunbeds. However it was slightly dirty and empty yoghurt pots at the bottom at one stage and tissues, but they get cleaned every morning. Pool entertainment dire, no energy, no encouragement to get people involved and same playlist when they decide to play music. Of which not uplifting.
Glad we came back to know how it is now as we would hate to recommend this to friends and family based on our previous experience. However our next stay in Lanzarote will be else where.

**Excellent service and outstanding staff **
We have just returned from Lanzarote after staying at the Tropical Island Resort. Although we experienced a small issue at the beginning of our stay, the way it was handled made all the difference.
We would especially like to praise Manuel, the Assistant Manager, who was incredibly helpful, professional and understanding. He went above and beyond to listen to our concerns and resolve the situation. His kindness, efficiency and excellent customer service truly turned things around for us. Manuel is a real credit to the resort and deserves the highest praise.
We would also like to thank Laura and Vini from the bar for their friendly and attentive service, Francisco at reception for being extremely efficient and helpful, and Patricia, the Assistant Director, for her support.
All of these staff members contributed to making our stay enjoyable, but Manuel was exceptional. His dedication and professionalism stood out the most, and we are very grateful for everything he did.
Thank you to the whole team for looking after us. We would be happy to return!

Good fun for the kids
Lovely well kept surroundings. Location good not far in a taxi to beach etc and under 5 euro a trip. Lots of pools and slides etc for kids. Snack bar food ok but not great. We were self catering and found only one ring on a 2 ring hob worked. Air conditioning didn.t work. However we ate out so can.t rate the food in the restaurant. We had a lovely time and would go back the rooms were clean. We went in October.
